  1. Check out this video I found of a Hennessey tuned GTR- just ballistic!

  2. even if they were the same money.

  3. One noticeable difference over your STI I assume would be almost no turbo lag in the R35. Nissan has done an incredible job with the GTR considering Porsche's turbo reportedly has quite a bit of lag. In terms of weight and handling how does it differ to the STI? Nissan apparently have done a remarkable job masking the weight of the GTR. I would prefer a GTR over a Porsche turbo even if they we

  4. Yeh I can only imagine how it would feel to drive one. After 1000kms approximately how far have you gone into the throttle? Have you gone full throttle yet? I know they obviously very slow laps, but do you recall your best lap time at Wakefield? I would be very interested to know. Thanks mate.

  5. I have only got 1,000kms on the car so I haven't carried out any performance tests. I am waiting until after the 2,000Km service. On Saturday I did 3 slow laps around Wakefield Park and the car felt great. Looking forward to finding the grip levels and balance of this car - its very different to my old Subaru STI.

  6. Seeing you won an R35, I was wondering whether you have done any performance tests because I heard the AU cars are running less boost than the JDM cars. Have you tracked your car yet?

  7. Nissan Australia are saying that they never claimed the Australian delivered car could run 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds. I have a booklet produced by Nissan International which clearly states the 3.5 seconds for the 0-60mph (0-96.7km/h) test. Has Nissan mislead buyers with performance figures that the Australian GTR cannot achieve? The recent testing in Motor Magazine clearly shows this (June 09 issue). Test results from the USA and Japan shows that the car is more than capable of achieving these times or better repetitively. I think the Australia cars have been detuned due to all the warranty issues they have had in the USA with transmission failures and making buyers sign the pre-purchase customer agreement with all the constraints/cavearts. We shouldn't have to buy and fit aftermarket performance equipment to get the performance we have paid for and promised by Nissan. My new GTR arrives in Australia on 8th June 09 and I am hoping that Nissan Australia can make it the real “everyday Supercar” it is meant to be! I am sure Nissan can easily reload the improved ECU mapping required to get the performance they promised to buyers all around the world. See the Youtube link showing Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn at the Nissan GTR launch in LA 2008 stating that the GTR is capable of 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds (at 2:40min mark in the video): Also: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=140966
  8. I have attached a website link to a USA Nissan website which has an exploded view of the front of the GTR. If you run your mouse pointer over the item number it will give you details of the part. They do ship parts overseas including Australia. http://www.courtesyparts.com/gtr-parts-r35..._8034_8036.html If you need more information it let know. Have you electronically timed your car from 0-100kmh? Alot of the guys can't get under 4.0 seconds including Nathan Ponchard when he did the test between the GTR and the GT2 in the latest Motor magazine. My friend's car is only running 0.8 bar (approx.11.6 pound) instead of the 1 bar the JDM and US spec cars are running. This may expalin the slow times. Nissan has promised all buyers a everyday supercar that can run 0-60mph (96.7kmh) in 3.5 seconds or better. We are putting pressure on Nissan to deliver what they promised.
  9. There is a guy who uses Venture Shield clear paint protection film in Melbourne. My friend in Hobart had his GTR R35 done about 5 weeks ago at a place called Invisible Car Bras - Melbourne Victoria Australia Phone: 0419 435 427. There website is http://www.invisiblecarbras.com.au/. I saw his car when I was in Hobart a few weeks ago and the guy did a great job.
  10. Talk to Andrew from Ozicozi in Artarmon (02 8084 6879 or 0425 299 977) and he will be able to replace the clear stone guard with his Venture Shield product. I am getting the whole front of the car protected when my new car arrives next week. Not sure about your cowling cover - I have a copy of the Nissan GTR Workshop manual on CD so I will have a look and let you know. Please call me on 0438 179 396 if you have any more questions - Cheers Walter
