  1. What is a leakdown test? Sorry for noob questions
  2. I just went for a 20 min drive, come back home, and heard a couple of bubble noises from the radiator area. The resoiver was down on coolant and i only topped it up yesterday. This sounds like a blown head gasket.. Im not getting any white smoke from exhaust but my bad idle tells me their could be coolant leaking in the block and making the car miss. What do you think? Anyway to test the head without Taking it apart? Cheers
  3. Im running bpcr6es plugs gapped to 0.8mm. Changed about 3 weeks ago. I think ill start on the aac valve tomorrow.. Probably filthy. Never touched it.
  4. Thanks for reply guys. Iv flushed the radiator today and new coolant put in. Oil and oil filter changed also. Went for a 20mins drive and temperature has dropped about 5 deg. Iv always had the idle hunting problem since iv bought the car but since i got the car back its happening a lot more often, especially on cold start ups. Iv noticed my power fc is reading the ign timing of 15 and sometimes will fall back to 14 then up to 16. Is this normal?? At the same time the car doesnt sound likes its idling smoothly, sounds like its missing. Anyways, got the car going back feb 14th. Till then it wont be driven much.. Or at all.

  6. Oh forgot to add, iv got a xforce split dump which im not too keen on keeping on the car. Iv heard people having boosting issues from using them with aftermarket turbos.
  7. Thanks for reply tao, ill look into this. I got a hard 3 inch pipe made up with a 4 to 3 inch reducer from turbo. Im running spiltfires and brand new nismo injectors. So makes me think it must be the ignitor.
  8. Ok, thanks. At the moment the car idles at 850-870, iv noticed they have already up this from standard. I have a oil cooler and relocator kit installed. Iv havnt done any cooling flush....
  9. Hey guys, as the title says.... I got my R33 Gtst back today from Unigroup, I was having the following installed and tuned.... Hypergear ATR43G3 .82 turbo Nismo 555cc injectors Z32 AFM Powerfc Yavuz explained to me the car had issues on the dyno, the car made a laggy 230rwkw and said he couldn't go on further on the dyno because of the issues listed below.... known issues: -Engine running 85-90 deg C, gets warmer after power runs leading to loss of power, Cooling system marginal. (aftermarket radiator?) -Crank angle sensor, RPM signal noisy, unstable after 5500rpm (no idea about CAS) -Problems with Idle Air Control vavle and idle stability. Some hunting after startup especially when cold, Fuel mixtures and timing all ok. (IAC clean will fix this?) -Car randomly drops down to 5 cylinders (2 occassions, after 30 seconds it fired back up) ( taking a guess, is it the ignition module or the CAS? or both?) My question is, does my car sound mechanically healthy? Because these issues sound like all electrical faults.. but im not sure he has advised me to take it easy on the car and can still use it as a daily just till i bring it back to him, but im worried about driving it all now.. Can i still drive it? it drives fine, smooth and all. Only thing i can pick is the idle, it sounds like the car is going to die. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Aleck.
  10. Iv spent just on $6k in the past 3 months, hypergear atr43g3 .82 turbo,nismo injectors, power fc, z32 afm, etc. My gtst is currently at the workshop (Unigroup). hopefully picking her up tomorrow! In the end i think it will be worth it...
  11. Iv got the same problem with my ecu, Toshi tried getting into it and it was locked by whoever remapped it. I just bought a power fc and should be in by next week oh and you'll need a 25 power fc.
  12. Hey all I'm having a problem with my r33 gtst, I was just reversing out of my driveway and quickly pushed the clutch in and I got a rattle sound from the gearbox area. I also felt the vibration through the steering wheel. I think its the box mounts or engine mounts but not sure. anyone experience this?
  13. nice man, i bought a atr43g3... im thinking of DIY as well to save some $$$..anyone know if i can i do this and get a tune after installation of turbo? like is it safe to drive the car normal just till i get a tune?

  15. nope didn't work. on another note, Zebra that pdf is for the EZ 1. I have the EZ II. EVC EZ II: http://www.xspeed.com.au/manuals/EVCEZII3-20-03.pdf I think my pressure source hose could be wrong... what do yous think? disconnect from carbon cannistor and connect to fuel pressure line?

  17. Sorry im a bit lost here, iv checked out that pdf and i think iv done it right but i cant be sure.. which lines should i change? and which one is the boost signal?

It's a HKS EVC EZ II, it looks exactly like a EVC 5 but without the LCD screen unit ( the EZ II doesn't come with one) I have the Control unit in cabin with A/B knobs which has power, and the stepping motor under the hood. Ok what works is the control unit, i push the A/B buttons out, turn and set the boost to whatever, push the knobs back in and they save, the stepping motor is not doing it's job because no matter what i set the knobs at the car runs 7psi on both A/B settings.... So this made me think iv hooked up the vac lines wrong or the stepping motor is stuffed.. Pics up soon..
  19. Hey guys, I have a hks evc installed in my car (control unit has power), but the stepping motor Vac line/pressure lines are disconnected... so i had a go fitting the lines under the hood and i couldn't get it working.. is this right? Sorry for crappy drawing... just a quick 1 min job

Hey everyone, Iv had my r33 series 2 for over a year now and i have HKS EVC EZ II just sitting in my car, the previous owner has installed it, the control unit has power, but the stepping motor with the hoses are disconnected. It has a Turbotech manual boost controller for now but i really want to see if i can get the EVC working since its already hooked up with power, plus its a better boost controller, I just need help getting the lines connected under the hood.   21. Oh so it's better.. cool. So it would be a R34 GTT turbo or a R33 series 2 turbo with a OP6 rear housing on the back? Thanks for quick reply!
  22. Hey guys, I have a R33 Gtst series 2, i was checking out my turbo today and noticed i had a "OP6" stamped on the rear housing of the turbo, Is that the standard rear housing from factory? Iv been told when i bought the car it is a standard turbo, I tried researching around here on the forums and couldn't find anything useful. Why im asking, people seem to mention rb25 turbo's and asking if OP6 is on them, so im thinking it's not the factory rear housing? Any help would be great. Thanks
