  1. maybe in adelaide, you can't even buy a decent 8 for that price. let alone mr.
  2. OP drove a GC8 , so its not really a fair comparison to begin with, a more accurate comparison is your 05 sti to an 8mr... either way, congratulations with sale.
  3. this has to be the best thing i've red in a very long time lolololol but seriously, you wouldn't even buy a t-shirt without trying it on at the store first, let alone fork out 30k for anything before testing it lol
  4. was just speaking to Gerard few days ago on facebook....such a proud driver, very tragic. R.I.P. very very sad times.
  5. lol sus much... sell it like u stole it
  6. u dont happen 2 still have the rear wing do you??
  7. like every situation, the majority poorly represent the minority, e.g. i live next to a retirment village, the old people driving around my area make me sick, most of the time i could get out and overtake them on foot, some of them can only be seen by the top of their heads they are so small it amazes me how these people can drive; however i no of some elderly men who don't even consider themselves old, in my comp there was a team of guys who i soon found out the youngest was about 65 eldest maybe mid70's who didn't wanna play in the over 55's comp so they played opened mens against us and honestly i was so shocked at their performance that one day i actually asked them when they were elegible for the over 55's coz they would dominate that, and they all laughed thinking i was joking, after getting to no them more, i learnt one of them drives a DB9 and another wanted to buy a R35GTR, since then my perception of "all old people should just sit in the retirement homes" has changed alot... hopefully one day the general publics perception of "every p-plater / modified car driver is a hoon and should be locked up" willl change and the GTR-R34 doing 130 on the freeway at 2am with te37's, coilovers, jdm TBE and a proper tune will be seperated from the toyota camry with a coffee tin exhast tip, shiny hub caps and chopped springs doing 100 on a Friday night on George street.....
  8. narrowed down to S14a and R33, leaning more towards the R33 now having done a few more searches, i think the Rb25 has more of what i am looking for interms of power delivery (general consensus is that they deliver a more smoother even flow of power [correct me if im wrong] ) the sr20 seems to start a bit slow and then suddenly want to kill u when full boost is on... difficult to put into words, but the way a sr20 performs (not in terms of power, just overall) it seems the more fragile engine compared to the rb25? in terms of appearance s14a kills the 33 imo, BUT the back seat space of the 33 is something i'd rather use since i dont drink i am usually the DD and dont wanna have to listen 2 whinging.. i am turning my 15k into hard cash to i can start genuinely test driving some cars, up until now, i was hesitant because i hated time wasters wanting to c my car just so i could "rev it to vtec" only to realise vtec just made noise and then i had to change gear and do it all over again, so i didn't wanna waste peoples time for making comparisons lol
  9. thanks mate, i do prefer the front end of an s14 but i think the reliability and ease of power from the r33 seems to be attracting my attention a little more... i get my fulls end of this week, and i will start test driving sum cars this weekend, should be fun
  10. thanks man, that's very helpful exactly the kind of review i was after. cheers
  11. thought about the wrx evo IV's great looking cars with nice interiors, fit right into my price range also (althought a bit more pricey than s14's n r33's) but i belive the s14 n r33 are easier to get power out of as opposed to a wrx?
  12. sorry mate, thanks neway eventually would definently like to own an R nothing turns me on more than the roar of the rb26 at high RPM
  13. i am probably incorrect about the GTR having only driven as a passanger in one once or twice.... unfortunantly though they are extremely over my budget so as much as I would like consider them, there is no pooint
  14. definently not interested in the R34's, only ever will i touch one if its got GTR at the end of its name thanks very much rb25pwr i am getting the similar sort of response from ns.com aswell
  15. thanks guys, just to let u guy no, if im getting a skyline, its going to be 40th anni' edition 97 or 98 model R33... if im getting a s14 its gotta be 97 n above.... just let go of my 94 civic, and dont want to go back in time again, R32 interior was to oldschool for my liking so i cut that off the list... thanks X trail, but as i mentioned in my OP that im leaving exterior stock with lowered springs, stock rims, maybe maybe maybe a lip kit of some sort... anyone have anything else to say about the performance factor of things? sr20 v Rb25??
  16. i am not concerned about which is more popular etc, i think franga meant that because there are so many hoon R33's that police target them more? i guess in a sense this is right, you are more likely to get pulled over in a WRX than a S15 in the long run...
  17. thanks mate, honestly, i considered a 33gtr when my budget was around 20k, but couldn't justify the near 30grand price tag on most of them, plus having driven in one before, it doesn't have the lowend pull that im after, more of a +4800rpm type of car i think right? the S15 is really a "if im lucky and find a great deal i'll buy it" sort of car, because 15k is tight for the S15
  18. hay guys, i no how most forums resent "X vs Y" threads mainly because they have been covered 10000times but I have done a thorough search of google, this forum aswell as a few others yet still haven't found an exact answer... my question, im stuck on my decision between a series 2 33, s14 and s15.... i've just recently acquired my full licence and left my beloved 60kw vtec civic after making love to it all through my p's lol i've got a budget of around $15,000 and until recently s15 was not an option, but seeing as how there are a couple popping up for around 16,17 i figured its achievable.. power wise im aiming for around 200kw atw for a daily, i belive in all 3 of my options this is somewhat a reasonable figure. the car will never c a track day and most probably never a drag strip either... BUT i want lowend power more so than top end power so i figured the torque from the rb25 is an advantage over the sr20 am i right?? to sum up the power side of things, i'd prefer a redlight light warrior over a freeway monster like a tt supra or something. please do understand i am not looking for a hoon mobile... RE: exterior modifications, the car will be left stock maybe sum HID's and a good ride height, maybe a lip kit of some sort, definently no chrome or bodykits.. sorry for the long post, but i've spend like 3 years looking for a car and im still so confused about it lolll thanks guys
