im not too sure what the standard ride height of an r34 gtr is so i guess im not %100 sure what lowering it 2/3 lower would equate too either, but i am pretty sure that getting ir to 105 mm should still be legal in that sense. from what it sounds like, your car is very low, so i would do what your doing and get a set of height adjustable shocks, up and down up and down hehe as for exhaust, just get a hi flow cat, if you get an epa you wont have a problem. and no vic roads dont do emission testing, unless this has changed recently
-
this is exactly why they make me sick, get the db rating of your exhaust checked and get the person checking to write on the notice what exhaust it is, so they can see next time that it passes regs, go to a suspension place and get a written letter of what it has been lowered too, and suspension too stiff is an absolute fckn joke, if it is too low and to loud, then you have to cop is and not be upset, fair enough. you should have it at 105mm to be safe but if the ride height and db reading is fine, i would be absolutely flipping a berry if it happened again, keep the documentation and if the next time you get pulled over with the same crock of sht, then tell the new officer that this happened to you before and you passed everything(show him the exhaust and height test, and tell him your are going to send a letter of complaint as you have proved the car to be legal and he is just wasting your time and money. also mad 082, 100mm is fine in this case as the defect states to be min 100mm "to" retain 2/3 original travel not or to hence 100mm is min to retain 2/3 original travel. but you are def right about the hilux either way its not too much of a stuff around as you could pretty much drive in and drive out but pay the $40 for the db check anyway IMO and get the clearance checked. get it signed off, keep the paperwork and you will be fine. you may be suprised though, 90db is very very quite...

Fair Market Price For R32 Gtr
M.C Ren replied to widebody180's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
something tells me that the ones that sell are usually highly modified good examples with alot of the fruit taken care of at the right price, rebuilds and exc cond ect, it seems anything over 20 without a rebuild is stugleing out there these days. not only that, but people are not spending as much. the fact that if its not rebuilt and will need to be soon deters people from purchasing them, especially the r32 range. my recomendation is clean it up as much as you can, borrow a freinds slr, and take the best pivtures possible. comp test recipts wont hurt either jzp, not sure if yours is the gun metal grey one for 22900 or something rather, but that seems to be a fantastic looking example, and it does look good in those pics, but if i were you, id see if i could lend a pair of rims and get it out of the driveway, it will sell, if you do take some new pics, try and keep it in the shade, pics of cars come up better in the shade IMO if its not yours hehe, then its not i guess -
thanks for that, ill send him a pm

on a recent trip to tassie, i would have to say on the 2000km road trip i went on, %80 of it was awsome, some of my favourite roads where driving through the mountains from mole creek through tullah to strahon, then through the ghost town of queenstown, and that was in a scooby doo wicked van lol

Fair Market Price For R32 Gtr
M.C Ren replied to widebody180's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hard to say, regional áreas usually sell for more to people of your town for example, but then your really limited, how far from a major city are you, and how many are for sale there in what price range. Somewhere between 15-18 I'd say, maybe even 20 but it would have to be very clean. Even at the lower end you still might have a hard time selling it, I'd say around 17, it's all about the pics you say and how you advertise it -
i like the whole tarmac rally type of racing, but would def be taking it to tracks. what sort of costs are associated with building a reliable race spec 13b turbo engine, without including turbo, fuel, management ect. as i stated before, i dont have a clue when it comes to rotary's. and marlin, on the tarmac rally side of things, what sort of power and weight would you be looking at in the series 6 to be elegible and lets say, very competetive.
-
hehe you remind me of my old man when you say chook cooker, the only difference is when he said the word chook, it was about chooking something in the a$$ lol when you say single turbo im guessing you mean single 13b? not sure if you meant single turbo 20b. and yeah i am likeing this rx7 idea although at the moment its just speculation as i am overseas for a little bit longer. how much are you asking for your ¨chook cooker¨if you dont mind me asking and what are some of the specs?

For R33 Gtr Wheels Recomended
M.C Ren replied to The Real GTR's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
personally id go 19`s on a 33 gtr myself, fills the gaurds out nicely -
cheers

On another note, so far yous are both telling me what I want to hear
-
Yes I did mean power to weight, but in saying that though, it seems odd that you can't safely go more then 300rwkw on a race prepped 13b turbo, in that case, what would be the pros and cons of switching it to a 20b turbo engine? Will the eng swap make it in eligible for alot of events? And are twin setups or single setups better suited to a track rx7. I know this is a skyline forum but this is my home and I know there are a few rx7 fans on here

after searching the motorsport thread i havnt found too much info on racing rx7`s and nothing really on my question above, what are the costs of building a s6 rx7 track car compared to a gtr? (taking out the initial cost of the car) nothing crazy either, everything on a medium budget, good parts good tuning but calculated decisions. lets say the equivelant of a gtr with a couple of hundred kilos shaved and approx 350-400rwkw how quick can you get them around a track compared to a gtr? and built by a good tuner, how reliable can they be (obviously taking very good care of it)? also, how does the chasis compare for racing between the two? is anyone racing one of these at the moment? and if anyone can give me their opinion on racing rwd vs 4wd that would be appreciated aswell. im not too familiar on rx7`s and rotary`s either so any information is great. as much as i love gtr`s for a street car, it seems silly to throw money into 2 rb26`s also if anyone knows, what sort of power and weight you would be chasing for that sweet spot for a competetive rx7 to keep up with quick gtrs and possibly, put a few in their place. and dont get me wrong, their is no better car in my life then the gtr, i am a true enthusiest, just interested in some information on something different starting with something like this for example http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_stock_detail.php?entry=0016.dat&model=MAZDA or these these 2 http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_stock_detail.php?entry=0021.dat&model=MAZDA http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_stock_detail.php?entry=0022.dat&model=MAZDA you get my drift cheers

theres plenty of threads on this with heaps of info about building motors, and it depends on what you want out of the motor, once you start talking rebuilds theres a million different was you can go. are you rebuilding it yourself or you just want to source parts and take it to your mechanic. another thing, rebuilding your engine can be a costly experience, and if you dont have the funds at hand, it can also be a lengthy process because you run into all these hidden factors with different parts ect. if you have the cash and want to rebuild it thats fine, but what your saying is you have a very healthy engine so im not sure if i would rebuild it straight away, maybe even if you tuned it to 300kw to keep it healthy, remember, you could get 50,000kms out of it or more, thats 50,000kms less on your fresh rebuild, but if you have the money and can do it all at once , it def wont hurt the engine. all depends on your situation, another thing with rb26s, take it to someone who doesnt know what their doing and you will be paying for it twice

im one for response, but taking of fast at a set of lights with either turbos can get you into trouble, chirping the tyres or massive wheelspins, youl still be in the shit. dato$2nv, if that prius takes you at the first set of lights, dump the clutch at 6000 for the next set and see if he keeps up congrats on the new setup mate. enjoy

did they do a compression test when they checked it out? if not, that would be the first thing i would do, and as long as you have proof or know for certain that the belt was changed and your not going off what someone says, i would get the belt changed asap or atleast looked at. but if what your saying turns out to be a very good condition gtr then your engine should be fine, and with the right supporting mods you shouldnt have a problem with between 300-320rwkw. i mean as you know a motor can always go bang, but just a quick search is showing that many people have run 350rwkw on standard bottom ends for years, but others have blown 2-3 engines with that power on stock internals. and yes, from experience once pushing past 260-280rwkw on a gtst, they are fine but after a year of abuse, your compression wil start to decrease, not in every case but in mine, i mean it still went and went good, but i could notice she wasnt as crisp as she used to be. gtr's on the other hand can handle a little bit more the thing is you never know what you will need or what you wont, things may fail, things may not, thats where making it reliable costs money. for example "john" prefers to wait for his afm's to stuff up before he replaces them and "peter" would prefer to replace them before they go bang and damage anything else. thats my theory on reliability, save up, put the proper supporting mods on, fuel, spark, induction ect check your pumps and get a good tune from the best workshop in your area, then you can feel safe about your car and get pointed in the right direction in the future. so yes, IMO, if your engine is in the condition that you claim it is, 300-320 rwkw with supporting mods on a healthy rb26 should fine. dont beleive anyone who tells you about massive drive train losses either, awkw-rwkw have been tested on many cars to only lose between 2-5kw and the most i have read was 10-15kw max absolute max, depending on dynos of course but if it was such a difference everybody would be driving around in rwd gtr's, this simply isnt the case.

Yeah I actually made athread about info on that Sauria gtr, ended up finding the info myself, def one of my fav r32s

hehe i could imagine, there are bad trainers in australia, worse trainers where i am now in colombia so i could imagine some of the trainers floating around in some of the gyms up there, not saying everyone as i am sure there would be some great trainers, just a couple who wouldnt have a clue. i dont speak japanese so that would be my biggest problem, although i speak spanish pretty fluent and my italian is quite good, i guess you could say im a fairly fast leaner of languages. i might do a little bit of research and try to scrub up a little japanese. anyone have any idea what a base wage for a trainer would be over there. 1 more q, what is a jlpt level 2? (japanese level or japanese language)? thanks
-
as i cant seem to get japan and its customs out of my head, i am rounding up some info on the possibility of a working holiday. is physical appearance a big thing in japan? do many people go to the gym and does anyone know if there would be any work for a personal trainer over there or is it very limited? i ran a franchise through fitness first so i have all my certificates and advanced first aid. would my australian cert's hold up in japan? thanks
