  1. It's a damn nice change to see a postiive thread about USA Top Gear for a change. I was opening this thinking "great... here we go again... biggot central" but I was so glad to be wrong! The US version is fantastic! I've seen every episode to date so far. Watching them in order helped me get into it a lot too, as you can see them from the very start sort of fumbling a bit, then finding their perfect rhythm to make the show really entertaining. I don't know if anyone agrees, but the three hosts seem to be very similar to the three UK hosts personality wise (like, if the three UK guys grew up in America, that's pretty much what they'd be like), so it keeps that same sort of dynamic going, but we get a totally different spin on things. I'm glad they seem to have moved Tanner more to the front as the "main" host. He's the most entertaining and knowledgable of the group, and seems more comfortable in front of the camera. I've had just as many laughs from two seasons of this Top Gear that I get from two seasons of the UK Top Gear.
  2. + 1 christalmighty what an ugly piece of shit. It looks like someone tried to turn it into a prelude... "Don't build what you can buy" just buy a manual Skyline... and FFS... buy one that hasn't had a "Queer eye for the Leb guy" make over. The only way the Kms on that car would be genuine, is because no one drives it for fear of being seen in public in that horrific rolling turd.
  3. and here was me thinking Dorothy was only going to get pack-raped... but she's gonna get eaten out in two ways!
  4. are zombies lowballers? I woulda thought a zombie text would say something like "hhrrrrrrraggh... urrrrrr GGRRBBBBHHHHRRRRRRRRR"
  5. In other news... I got a text from some random number last night that I think might be a ghost text. If I opened my message program, it wouldn't show me the message anywhere. But if I used the drop down notification bar I could read it. Then after I closed it, it still wasn't showing up in my message list, and of course wasn't in the drop down bar anymore either now that I'd accessed it. Also, it was a message about my wheels for sale... But I've only given my number out to two people, both of whom I have had texts from already... This leads me to believe I are being of teh hauntedz
  6. Nah, won't make it in time. Gotta go to the gym at 5, and then over to Germside after that to go to Kmart. Won't get out of that shithole till close to 9 irection. Then home to have dinner and go to bed to get up at 5:30 to do it all again tomorrow
  7. + 1 also for this reason though: Some really bad people have been caught over the years because of such simple things like a random traffic stop/ticket etc.
  8. If you can clutch start it and it runs fine, then you're most likely not going to have a problem with anything to do with your fuel or air systems, so I wouldn't waste time on your injectors. If one or more wasn't firing then it'd be misfiring like a mad bastard. Sounds like a problem somewhere in the ignition system. Maybe the starter has crapped out (or maybe not getting enough voltage) and it's not spinning strong enough to engage the fly properly? It might sound like the engine is turning over properly, but could be not turning over fast/hard enough to actually start. Have you done a voltage check yet? I'd start there. Make sure everything is getting enough battery power on start up. If it's started itself after running for 10 mins or so, then maybe the alternator has put enough kick back into the battery for it to give the starter motor the right voltage (which would be why it didn't start again after a brief on/off then sitting for ten minutes) OR the heat/vibrations in the engine has made a better contact on the starter motor connections.
  9. Not sure if troll... or if law of averages finally lead to one sensible P plater... Everyone in this thread has had excellent points so far. I just want to throw a wrench into the works for you mate. R34 at 18 years of age, turbo or not = raped by insurance companies. Have you priced up insurance yet? Make sure you go quote crazy man. If on the off chance they are going to sting you for a left net and your kidney, it may be well worth your while looking at an Australian delivered S15. Now, yes I know it's not a 34, but it's the 34 of the Silvias, and a LOT of people over the years have tossed up between S15s and R34s. They're still a great looking and sounding car, and provide you with THREE bonuses over an R34. These are they: 1. 4 cylinder = cheaper rego 2. Australian delivered means cheaper insurance than an import. 3. A bit smaller than a 34 (good for when you start out driving). I don't know if you've driven or even sat in a Skyline... but they aren't small cars by any stretch of the imagination. There will be less "...can I make that?" moments in an S15 in carparks as they're a bit more nimble at low speeds too... Skylines are fat disgusting slugs in carparks/3 point turns or any other slow speed manoeuvres. Ultimately up to you. Just thought you might like a dose of my hindsight of having a tank (XD) for one of my first cars.
  10. Very quiet day by the look. I was bored yesterday, and this thread didn't even move
