If people just learnt a bit of road courtesy none of this would Happen. When somebody is overtaking me I actually let off, and let them pass easily. That also gives them heaps of room, so when they do come back into my lane i'm not RIGHT up their ass.

regarding the above comments; I dont realistically believe I would acheive anywhere near that time, the fact remains my car will still be smoking fast. And thats before I start modding it. It's no GTR, but who gives a shit; i'll be driving it soon

A few points to remember: 1. s13 Silvias are not locally delivered like the s15, which is why they are so cheap in comparison. 2. Import laws are changing constantly and in a few years I doubt you'll be able to import r34 gtt's or s15s for cheap.

Probably the first GTS-t i've ever seen that I like the look of.. and its not a gtr-wannabe either!

I'm reading this UK 'jap car' magazine which has an interesting article with some GTR's vs GTiRs.. The fastest car of the lot was a heavily, heavily modified GTR, but second place was the 'least of all modified car', it was a reasonably standard Gtir, and the only mods it had where breathing + exhaust mods with a boost increase. It was pulling 11.7sec passes! Cant wait for my GTiR which has arrived to be complianced. :wassup:

I guess shortly after I got my silvia I met the smoking hot girl i'm currently with and have been for several years.. she loves my damn car so much she's bought me a viper alarm and a few other things christmas and birthday gifts. She visciously defends it when her friends say 'silvias are shit' or whatever. One of her guy friends from uni drives a non turbo silvia q thats been riced up to the extreme and drives terribly, he gets paid out quite a lot. Theres a big difference between both cars, even though they are both silvias. I do enjoy being in the minority of s13 silvia owners that actually owns a 2l turbo (which is a rarity in itself) and one that has not been bastardised by crap rice (I'm yet to see another one on the road). I've given a few girls from work lifts home and they have fallen in love with my car, and constantly rave on about it to anyone who will listen.

This thread did exactly what I wanted it to do, And might I also add that the comments by bonzelite are terrifyingly accurate.. in summary it's not about "what" car you drive.. its about the image. Whether you like it or not driving a nice car does help when it comes to the opposite sex. What do I get out of it? Thats easy.. pulling up next to you at the lights in the hairdressers car and kicking your GTST's ass from 0-180km/hr. And around the corners, too. Its a known fact that the 180sx/sr20det sil is faster down the quarter mile, and with the modifications that my car has I enjoy beating guys who buy skylines just because they want gtr respect and looks for next to no cost. Talk down silvias all you like: the fact is I have driven many many gtst-t's and many silvias, and my personal preference is that my car is more enjoyable to drive fast. Its smaller, lighter and feels like more of a go kart, and feels faster. How many Silvia K's or 180sx's have you driven? let me guess, none? I have no respect for skyline drivers who think they are top shit because of their car unless they have a GTR badge, sorry mate.

hi BACKUP, I drive an s13 SR20DET silvia. they are pretty rare on the road, most people will think your another one of those non turbo silvia drivers thinking they can smoke your ass. Pity for them that after a mild massage your doing low 14s huh. I love my damn car.. I wouldnt take a gtst over it any day.. though I am partial to skylines.. my GTiR gets here soon, and after that i'll be purchasing the GTR.

justinfox: please take this advise seriously because I only want to tell you once, go and buy an Apexi AVC-R boost management system. Dont listen to anything anyone else says. It is goign to be the best $800 you ever spent. Go read up about it, make some calls and ask industry people what they think of it. Mount it sitting in the middle of your dash or you can mount it in front of your air con vents. It is the ONLY responsible thing to do if you own a GTR.

How many of you rely on the skyline to 'complete the deal' when you meet a new girl? When talking her do you A) Look forward to her asking what kind of car you drive, or try and prompt her to by asking what she drives B) Secretly get excited when she asks for a lift home, knowing you get to show off your wheels which should give you that much more of a chance to be driving her to YOUR place C) Cruise around the streets with your arm out the window relying on your BOV to get girls staring If you answered 'YES' to any of these, you are guilty as charged. Sorry man, grade 12 kids who drive Skylines are rich kids. (or come across as).. The fact your working 2 jobs to pay for keeping your car on the road means you should not own the car. Particularly as a first car. You had also better get ready to hear 'rich kid' a lot.. your mates at school, guys you meet at parties, people at uni who have been busting their ass for the last 5 years to save up for some rusted out peice of shit VL will be keying your car and wanting to bash you and make your life hell. Australia generally has a bad case of tall poppy syndrome, and justified or not you had better get used to it. Take a look at the responses that kid got who wrote off the r33 GTR.. everyone on here was very excited about it. Is pulling the chicks worth all that trouble? go get an old turb silvia until you can afford a skyline yourself. It will feel a lot better getting into the drivers seat that first time when you actually deserve it.

basically we're not going to have access to any good imports in a few years if DOTARS have their way with the australian publics ass. I doubt we're the only three people who have been drooling over that v-spec II.. if your interested in it, and you think you might have the cash, I wouldnt be asking around on forums.. i'd be on the phone to geoff the minute his office opens on wednesday and make sure your first in line.

I do agree, there tends to be a bit of jealousy of any 20-year olds owning ANY kind of GTR. Particularly Gtst owners. I cannot blame them.
