R33 Interior Panels
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to GT 1's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Do you have the drivers side control panel? It contains the power window buttons and a small pocket. PM the details of price etc. -
Maybe its not a problem, when the aircon switches on the engine needs to rev higher hence 1000rpm, but when the aircon isnt needed the engine goes back to normal which is 600rpm.

Changing the gearbox oil in an R32 GTST?
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to inark's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just fill it until the oil is level with the filler hole. -
Gearbox Oil Level
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to gtrGhosTDoGG11's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the info. I'll be doing it this saturday, ill take some pics and post them. -
2GU UP I am dead serious, the cops don't pull off the kick panel. But the Registration office that does the inspections for defects will pull your car apart looking for stuff like this. I have even heard of inspectors undoing the casing to look at the circuitry on the ECU to check that it is standard. You would have to be desperately unlucky I would imagine.

How do you check your gearbox fluid level in an R33? Is there a dipstick in the engine bay? If so where is it? Or is the only way to open up the filler hole and have a look inside. Cheers. :headspin:

I know PowerFC is defectable in SA but is the SAFC?

Changing the gearbox oil in an R32 GTST?
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to inark's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Use Redline Shockproof Gear Oil - Lightweight for gearbox (Green in Colour) - Heavyweight for diff (Red in Colour) Good stuff, cant get any better. -
Ofcourse they can send you to Regency if they suspect that your vehicle does not comply with road laws. But they can not just search your vehicle UNLESS they have credible reason to believe that you have something concealed, like a weapon or narcotics. Its just the same as searching your house, they can't just come in and search your house. Something to do with civil liberties. What is this? America or something? Anyway, way off topic.
-
Ah, is this what they call thread hijacking? From what I understand, the cops have no right to search the vehicle unless they have a warrant or you give them permission explicitly. So if they ask you, just say no DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer so please look up the laws for yourself, Hiep your g/f should know something about this.

Can someone recommend a good wheel alignment place
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to gtrGhosTDoGG11's topic in South Australia
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will get my Sooby and 'line done all at the same place. FYI: A former boss of my mine went to the the Gouger St. store and they stuffed is HICAS. It was one of the first R33 VSPEC's here in OZ. But then again, ppl here seem to recommend them. -
Mate, Don't mean to scare ya but I got my R33 registered at Regency and the experience was not great. I felt it was long and drawn out unnecessarily. My car was stock ffs, BONE STOCK. And they still went over it with a fine tooth comb. I know better from others experiences and won't be doing anything to the car that will attract cops. If they want to look under the bonnet then they will need a warrant.

safc or any electronics install
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to hippy's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Driving style will most likely affect your mileage. Because you have 98RON, and you know it is less likely to ping than 95RON and perhaps you maybe a little bit more spirited in your driving. Perhaps you should reset your ECU with your next tank of 98RON to see if there is any difference. I wonder if changing fuel will change how the ECU behaves. -
Nizmo Body Kit Replica
gtrGhosTDoGG11 replied to Haro's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Yep, PM sent. Would like to know about the quality of the parts though, I'm picky with fit and finish. Will they be as good as other after market stuff like at jetspeed and carmate. Or will they even better like the kits at nismo.com.au (Unique Auto sports). Keep us posted, (excuse the pun) Steve. -
Need a reputable wheel alignment operator that knows Skylines i.e. won't stuff up my HICAS. Cheers, S.

WRXs are a good package, they are no Skyline though. People run into trouble when they try and stretch the boxer power plant far beyond what it can handle. Remember it is already running quite high boost compared to a Skyline. One of the great strengths of the 'Line is its response to mods, long live the Skyline.
-
That is a complete horror story for anyone that has or is thinking about trusting their car and money for modifications.
-
Yeah, I agree with Hippy, I have the response. Its sounds good, well built and efficient. But it isn't cheap, for 50-100 more you open yourself up to so many better choices. .e.g JLAudio 12w3.
-
Hey Hippy, I heard ya upgraded your tunes dude, care to fill us in on your rig?

Actually, Pioneer not long ago had amps that I wouldn't touch with a 10ft barge pole. I'm not sure what there like now. Sony are pretty good, my friend has a Sony 4x150w it is HUGE and performs pretty good aswell. FYI Pioneer distribute Rockford Fosgate, I wouldn't be surprised if Pioneer bought them out.
-
Hippy, I talk from experience. I think if you haven't used them, don't diss them until you do =p I use all "quality" components in my system, Utopias splits, Rockford Fosgate amp etc. If you can hear the difference between the two simlarily rated amps I will eat my hat. Sure the internals of the Jaycar MAY be a little cheaper than "quality" amps, but as most of the people already have said there pretty reliable. What is a quality branded amp anyway? Pioneer? (laugh)
-
The 4x100 amp of which you speak is a good value for money amp(make sure you get this one and not the others). I have had no problems with the 2 amps that I have installed for mates. There is a really good review of them in one of the import magazines(I forget which). They produced gobs of clean power in a lab test and heaps of people have praised them.

If you know what your doing and apply sound deadening prodigiously, the results are excellent. You remove all the rattles and resonance that would other wise affect the sound. And no, you do not get the quality thud sound when closing the door. To do that, you will to upgrade your door seals or something like that.
