  1. wow got a few replys so far, did raising the compression fix your problem? and as far as that turbo being maxed out i dont really think so it was able to push 1.9 bar all the way to red line when my wategate was playing up. there is another person on this form who said he achived 500plus hp with type turbo, ill squize this setup to it max befor ill pull the head off myself. im a fan of not paying work whops to do realativly easy work, so ill research the head gasket change while tuning this setup. the only problem with going a bigger turbo to is the type of manifold im using, as im sure i wont fit a much larger one ie 3540 on a low mount hks cast iron manifold.

  3. ha ha ha well actually it spools up alot faster and made heaps more talk, im getting dyno sheets in an hour so ill post them then, and i was wanting around 450rwhp cause its got the 0.82r housing not the 0.63 and the clearances were set to what wiesco said the clearnace was for that type of piston ill have to look it up, they were 40 thou over sized teflon coated pistons if that helps.
  4. this is where im mot sure what to look for? could that be cams not dialed in properly? what would be that cause for being able to retard the timing with no hp differance, changing comp would be an option but dont want to remove head just yet till im sure the comp is the problem. what do you mean something is missing?
  5. it an rb25det, forgot to mention that, when we were building the motor i was wanting around 500hp mark, so we went witha commetic head gasket 1.8mm to drop the compression down to run higher boost. and ill have to ask what the clearnaces are for the ring to piston as im not sure of that. i was hoping some one had a rought idea of what psi can be pushed through motors with that comp ratio, and why is the piston to bore the most important? is that for blow by or how well the piston stays center to the bore?
  6. ok was not aware of that, so what would be the problem with the timing issue then? i thought backing off the timin would mean the peak power would drop off linialy as well, excuse the crap spelling. what clearances am i asking for by the way? as in piston to valve?

  8. hi, i have a full forged and ballanced motor with all the good stuff inside and out, just not making the power im looking for, my motor was tuned at 20psi with a garret gt3076r im only at 70% injector duty and 60%afm left as in where there at in the last tune so heaps to go in both areas, and its only making 380rwhp, what i want to know is what psi can this motor handel? acl bearings, ballanced assembley, eagle h beam rods, wiesco 40thou oversised pistons, arp head bolt main bolt and rod bolts, ported polished flowed head, pom cams 256int 264exh, greedy intake, hks low mount cast manifold, 550cc injecrtor, watermethanol injected, fmic, bosche044 pump, pfc, ect also he (being the tuner) said he could back the timing off 8 deg retard and the peak power stayed the same which is odd so he said and it just spooled up faster and made more tourqe so not sure what the go is there.
  9. talk about round and round information! as stated any well setup skyline gts can match a 4 wheel drive car! if you can drive! i have a 304rwkw gts and constantly run high 11ins with crapy nangkang 265/30/18 they hook up great and its always a treat to watch jaw drop when racing rex and gtrs. tien coil overs camber adjustment kit and practise, and you keep comparing a rear wheel drive to all wheel drive. always going to be a land slide win i must admit. but great fun to caurse an upset! and do you know how many people out there make huge claims and are totally full of it. and there might be truth to claims of low horse power wrx doing fast times but only a few runs then SNAP! stuff breaks. constant times everytime makes for a fast car. plus rwd you can have fun here and there awd tends to have to be doing crazy stuff to slide around.
  10. ha ha ha ha true that! ill have to wait and see where i end up money and wife to sort out money is the easy part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha. i should have a dyno sheet soon as the drags are on in mackay end of next month so will hit the rollers again. and hopefuly get a good q/m time any thing under 13 flat will do fine.
  11. yea sorry for late reply, just drop ins have not gone that for yet, but thinking along the lines of solid lifters on the next cam upgrades to a 10.2mm lift range.
  12. hi guys, this is my build to date and keep in mind this way tuned in mackay on a 38deg day and only to 20psi will go back and tune again with more boost and post dyno sheet. wiesco 40 thou teflon coated pistons eagle h-beam rods acl main bearings ballanced crank n1-oil pump n1- water pump ported polished and flowed head from jhh port matched exhaust and intake to head tommie cams arp head bold studs arp intake bolts arp exhaust bolts commetic head gasket 1.3mm greddy intake plenum q45 throddle body q45 afm adjustable cam gears hks timing belt 660cc injetctors turbo smart fpr turbo smart duel port bov water methanol injection kit hks low mount manifold tiel 40mm wastegate garrett gt3076r 0.82r housing (htc coated) 3 inch dump that split into twins from cat back 2.5mm each 044 fuel pump intank. pfc acvr fmic as stated befor very hot day, was a new turbo so going easy, and had dirty injectors, also intake cam vvt sender was not triggering but fixed that after the dyno. 419rwhp 20psi, gt3076r makes full boost at 3500rmp AND DOSE NOT RUN OUT ALL THE WAY TO REV LIMMITER! (sending a thanks to mike vien turbos capalaba for the turbo) will shoot for 25-27 psi and supply dyno sheet.
  13. hi all, just had my motor rebuilt, all the usual stuff forged bottom end tommie cams port polished and flowed head by jhh, gt3076r with rear .82r housing all supporting gear, pfc 660cc injectors greddy plennum hks low mount manifold 044 fuel pump ect nothing missed, but when tuning the car would only push 412rwhp at 20psi heaps of psi left in it but did not push for more as the timing was a problem, at idle the cas was all the way to the right to get the 15deg at idle which the tuner thought cames where out but had aquick look and found that they matched up on top dead center marks, also the car had to have a high idel cause at lower rpm the was a miss but under throddle the miss was not there. oh and im running a water methanol kit if that changes any thing. what could be the reason for the cas to be so far retarded and the slight miss im assuming could be diry injectors?
  14. hay mate sound like your having some fun with your car! just a bit of infor for you, when asked to swap cats with your mate this is becouse if your cat, new or old has failed internaly it can cause the exhaust to block this will limit in min or major way how your turbo boost and how much it can boost to (depending on what is wrong) easy thing to check, drop it out and look at it! you factory boost solinod could be then next problem as stated thats easy to check as well change that out with your mates car, and for sh_ts and giggles if thats your problem then go for either electronic boost controlled ( no nasty boost spikes ) or a t piece bleed valve there are heaps of these to choose from most have psi settings on them you can adjust to, without the nasty guess work ( better to be safe then sorry) remember though when re setting the boost level the stock turbo has a ceramic exh wheel so from memory 10psi is max safe limit with out ca-BOOM!!!!!! i could be wrong so resurch this as there are a few guro's on this site, like discopatato for instance.

  17. i went and had a look an cant use this pick up point as the motor is in the car, and im using a greedy plenum so factory water outlets are gone it so annoying.

  19. hi i have a set of cams installed on my rb25det and was wanting to know if any one got power gains when adjusting the cams on your cam gears? is it worth the stuff around and what else would this improve?
  20. well thats just great, so do you know what the upper limmit of this set up will be, i have forged bottom end, worked head by jhh, cams pfc, injetors, greedy plenum bla bla bla......... nothing has been missed and yet still wont get this goal? when i was ordering this turbine i was informed that this turbo could flow enough to support that amount of out put?
  21. dam it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now ill be doing things like water methanol injection to try and reach that goal!
  22. thanks for the pic's and information as to where to pic up the water return and feed. it has made life easy as now i know where to look, and i had the system flow the wrong way in my head i thought water flowed top to bottom not bottom to top, and i have wanted to know what the limit is of the gt3076r with the 0.82r housing, as this is being bolted to a motor that had everything done to it, as i stated befor the turbo installed first off ran out of puff at 350rwhp! (big let down!!!!!!!) so this turbo i hope will see me to the magic 500rwhp!!!!!! i hope!
  23. ok well when i get back home ill remove the rocker cover and have a look see, and is hard to get a speed flow fitting into this outlet? also i know this is annoying cause im sure this question has been asked many times befor but what size and thread type are all the outlets?(block only) Oil feed? oil drain? water feed? water return? byt the way thanks for the fast response it has made the battle i face a lote easyer

Hi!, i am installing a gt3076r on my rb25det (hks low mount manifold) but the turbo that was installed is oil cooled only (turbo was upgraded to diesel turbo and ran out of puff) and the standard water feed line is not on the motor!!!!!! so need to know where the most affective and easy to reach location for the water feed to come from is? and is the return location the blanked off bolt at the back of the motor below the manifold on the same side as the oil feed line? i have heard i can "t" into the top heater hose to feed the turbo and think this sound a bit house your father!!!
  25. hi all, i have just spent the last few years with my r33 in a garage (due to loss of licence) and took the opertunity to work the motor a little and now that its assembled and started its time for the dyno run! i have no idea just what to exspect from the upgrades and was wondering if any one had an idea or ball park figure of what could be exspected the list below is all the items installed to date:- ENGINE wiesco teflon coated forged pistons (40 thou oversizes) eagle h beam rods block has been board and honed as well as crack tested ballanced crank acl race bearings commetic 3mm head gasket ported polished and flowed head valve ground also tommie pom cams 265 inlet and 272 exh ( can remember exact deg of cams but around those figs) adjustable cam gears arp head bolt studs n1 oil pump n1 water pump greddy intake plenum 660cc nismo injector fuel pressur reg OTHER STUFF!:- nismo pro front mount 600mm x 350mm x 100 3 inch cooler pipes q45 throddle body q45 airflow meter 3ich of turbo back to cat then twin 2 3/4 inch system to rear nitto 45mm pro waist gate (externaly plumbed into exhaust furhter down) schwitzer 3-LD turbo, 0.82 exh and as large as this sounds even though to me it looks small 1.02 inlet??? thats what the plate says! its off a 6liter cummins motor. ( turbo was rebuilt to suit this motor build) hks pod intake with cold air setup kevlar 3500pound clutch turbo smart duel port bov apexi power fc apexi acvr and of course the usual 10000000hp gainer a few guages! ha ha ha just jokes so any ideas what to exspect from this motor as the wait is killing me! ha ha as any r33 owner who has done this befor would know.
