Remove your front prop shaft. RWD.
-
check connections under the back of the car on the drivers side.
thats where the accumulator pump and motor etc is.

So we picked up the wife's A3 at the Goldy yesterday (came up from Melb by truck), & did all the req'd crap to get it registered. (Who new a set of Euro plates cost $400 What a rip off!)
The RACV report we got before buying the vehicle said the car was due for a service so I had a look in the log book. Impressively the service intervals are at 15,000kms (typical of a lot of vehicles, I know) & so I was expecting the last service to have been done ~15K ago. But no, the car totally missed the last service so it's nearly 30K since it's last oil change!!!
Furthermore, it looks like the service it missed was a bigish one, with all the engine belts needing to be changed. Grrr.
Since this is the recipe thread, I'm thinking of developing a recipe for broiled car salesman. Guaranteed to leave a bad taste in your mouth, lol.
car salesmen cant be trusted!!
I would be sending the car back

i had one that stopped working. it required a motor replacement.
if you get stuck, inside the tailgate there is a small access panel. remove the cover and flick the switch up to unlockthe tailgate. its the manual catch.
if it turns out you need a new tailgate motor i have 2 working ones

wicked, have NEVER seen that option on a car before

i had most of another stagea in the back of mine, and so did craig!
yes, you can fit an M35 tailgate through the tailgate
-
nice one cam!
is that front cameras or front parking sensors?
-
you cant put the engine in overnight??
i thought those C34s were easy to work on?
-
you know why they didnt use an M35 for that conversion?
Because its easier on a C34! hahah
-
ohh yeah the radiator. damn its big, if you overheat with that ill be surprised!
-
me prefer the skyline!
-
then you shouldnt have a problem with a reflash!
i got mine from www.vwwatercooled.org.au there is a good FS section there. i think the diesel engines have a good support forum too.
hahah sometimes economy=power. i can consistently get 10L/100km to and from work. highway, 6.5L/100km

i got a 2nd hand superchips bluefin for $550. they offer a stage 1 (no supporting mods required) which does 54NMs more and 41HP. stage two can offer half again as much, but need fuel pump, dump pipe and intake. took 3 mins to reflash via a hand controller. ive done no other performance mods to the car. only HID conversion ($2.5k for HID pffft) and a fully integrated ipod interface to the satnav system.
leon, your wifes A3 if its more than 3 years old can do a remap via the consult, however all the new diesels (like andys) need to have the ECU removed and perform a bench flash.
i get boost from about 1500rpm and it wheel spins in the dry around 3k into 2nd gear. wet weather, forget about it. however this is a FWD car but it handles VERY well for an ass dragger. the sydney people will see it next weekend if they come to the meet

theres one from the battery -ve terminal to the chassis, plus all the other ones that run to the engine and gearbox. there are point on the top of the motor, under the plastic cover. check them all. the transmission one i cant remember, the CVT boxes are different from the RE5s ive seen.
-
not really, i chipped my current car and its more economical and has more power............
-
i have a perfect rear subframe for sale when you need it
-
hahaah good call
-
arent they even less economical than an M35?
-
i know i was stirring YOU up!
how is this thread not locked?

im with scotty on this one. sounds like a ground wire or relay.
buy a wire brush and start removing ground terminals. make sure the battery terminals are clean too. every body point should be removed and cleaned.
