  1. Surely even if you had comprehensive insurance it would only cover you if the alarm were armed and they didn't have access to keys. Since I am sure the car wouldn't have been alarmed/locked, and the thieves would surely have had access to your keys - so that argument is completely moot. I am willing to bet their insurance would have to cover you.
  2. Yeah I agree Ruby - I like black centres, but find that with some dish it becomes too dark in there and you lose the shape of the centre and it just looks dirty. Mind you the attached pic (which is a very similar wheel) doesn't look too bad - but is it much less dish than I am after, so in not an accurate reflection.
  3. What do you guys think of these rims? My new car may (or may not) be a 350Z, but is black and lowered - so won't look too dissimilar. I am thinking either these silver/black centres (as in the pic), or straight black centres. But both have a big polished dish like these.
  4. Wooooooooooooooo the Yen just cracked 80 to the A$, and the A$ cracked 84c US. Kinda makes me regret buying the $500 or so of bits I bought for my new car over the last month .... good news is the next few lots of stuff will be at 15% cheaper than the previous bits .... go the A$!
  5. yep, that is what the one I am looking at has.
  6. Really? Posting pics would have helped support this information ....
  7. nah Damo - I am after 18"s. And those rims are insanely differently offset - the difference between 8" +37 and 9" +28 is 21mm. the fronts are not offset enough and the rears are TOO offset. My perfect offsets are: 18 x 8 +25-+28 18 x 8.5 +31-+34 18 x 9 +37-+40 18 x 9.5 +44-+47 All of those sizes leave the wheels between 33mm and 30mm wider track than stock, and fill the guards nicely without rubbing or needing rolling. I am also keen on same width wheels front to rear (which is how the car comes stock), so I can rotate tyres properly. I am sick of staggered offsets.
  8. Damo have had a few people call and tons of people stop and look when I have had it out on North East Road or Lady Gowrie Drive, Taperoo, and one guy rang yesterday and said he is pretty keen but was going to ring back today and I never heard from him. I am in no hurry.
  9. yeah Chad they do! I think I would be much more keen on them if the centres were black - or even gold for that matter.
  10. Yeah I will flip out the 1Gb stick for a 2Gb one straight away. Will deal with the HDD speed until SSDs come down significantly in price. I am seriously contemplating buying a $100 15" LCD and chucking an Ebay special $140 15" touch-screen overlay over it, and mounting that in the car to run off the EeePC to run Consult2 full time. Just not too sure how stupidly big a 15" screen in the car would be. I would fabricate a steel frame to sit it pretty much where police screens sit, to the left of the centre console in front of the passenger, but tilted toward the driver.
  11. I have QFM HPXs and love them. They are fitted on gold passivated dimpled and slotted RDA rotors with braided brake lines. They certainly stop the car like no man's business! I will find out how good they are on the track in a few weeks, unless I sell the car by then.
  12. Thanks heaps for the heads-up Chad - that price is amazing - but they just don't do much for me I'm afraid. Did a mock-up of them - what do you think? Plain is my thought. Especially compared with polished CE28Ns, or even the polished lip black ones I posted earlier.
  13. ah shit sorry Ben, yes I have your consult cable here nice and safe .... I am still deciding whether to do the Nispeed chip and tune since I am almost certainly going to be running my R34 at the Mallala track day in 3 weeks as my new car is unlikely to be ready. So if it is ok I would like to hang onto the consult just in case I need it. I bought an EeeePC 901 too the other day on Habibay - 9" screen, 20Gb SSD, 1Gb with 10 months warranty still on it for $346 delivered - a pretty good buy I reckon. You can keep your smelly roo too - bleh! Yes, you should have invited youself and just come over mate - there was plenty of grog/food to go around.
  14. Wow I have only seen one V35 sedan on the road here in Adelaide and that is a blue one with full IMPUL kit that lives not too far from me (saw it parked at Wooies Northgate yesterday). NONE of the V35 sedans of carsales or Ebay have the Nismo kit (that I have noticed). A mate's dad owns a Silver coupe in Wynn Vale (with Volk wheels), and I spot the odd coupe around the place, but seldom sedans. What colour is yours 350GT-ATE? I would love to check it out! One of the other guys on SAU has just bought a silver 300GT, so will catch up with him too once I get mine.
  15. Nice wheels, good fitment and plenty of dish - I like a lot Matt!
  16. Well for the first course we had the following: 3 slices of toasted bread 3 eggs, sunny side up 250grams of bacon smokey bbq sauce So, double decker b&e toasted sandwich packed with all the good stuff. This was followed by half a dozen Toohey Extra Dry Platinum, various spatterings of Jim Beam Black, Johnny Black, Jim Beam Single Barrel, Jack Daniels, Jamesons 12 y/o, Johnny Walker Green, Apple Tequila (direct from Tijuana), Amaretto (direct from Tijuana), Giesen Sauvignon Blanc, Woodstock Botrytis, Seppelts Gewurtstraminer, and finished off with some of my current fave red Pertaringa Understudy Cabernet Petit Verdot. Various 8 ball games ensued. 2nd course consisted of: 2 slices of toasted bread 1.5 eggs well done 150grams of bacon smokey bbq sauce Followed by various Wii games. Result = win
  17. Done deal. I will go grab a kg of bacon and start frying.
  18. Yeah I do agree in some respects guys, but my line of thinking is that if they go and replace all the solenoids and the problem is fixed (I wouldn't take the car until someone has driven it error-free for a week), then I get a fully serviced gearbox with new bits in it included in the (already negotiated) purchase price. Win! Also, this car has the Nismo aero package (which I haven't seen on ANY car in Aus before), has the exact km I want, and is an excellent price due to the seller being quite desperate to sell. Also, I am not in a hurry to buy, as I haven't sold my old car yet and it would be more convenient to not have to try to squeeze 3 cars into a 2 car garage I'll see what plays out this week and go from there. I agree it sounds like too much trouble, but if it all works out I really get a bonus. And I know what you are saying Chris - but I love the CVT and smooth the power delivery is. And to go to a 04/05 update 5AT is a jump of nearly 10 grand on what I am paying for this one.
  19. Cool. Gaaaaaaaaaaah I just realised that we are out of non-rotting bacon Problem is, my car is out on North East Road getting some free advertising and the wife is out, so jumping on my tredley is the only option. So, do I wait for Scandy to arrive to chauffer me to Woolies to get some bacon, or will my hunger outweigh my laziness and I jump on the bike (given I have already done 3km this morning when I dropped my car out to NE Rd). Feel the burn. I am pretty hungry
  20. hey Dave if you have nothing to do come over man .... I am home alone for the arvo - gonna lounge it in front of the footy or something.
  21. Well I am starving - so I am going to head to the kitchen to cook up a double decker 2 egg and tons of bacon plus bbq sauce sanga for lunch .... mmmmmmmm
  22. Nah, especially since I am not going to absolutely slam it (in fact am only droppping it an inch all round) VIP would be a waste - and yeah I am with Matt here - imho most of the VIP wheels look like ass. Got pics of your new wheels Matt? Are you coming to poker at Burger's next Friday night?
  23. What do you guys think of these wheels, to go on a black 4 door lowered car I have been looking at CE28Ns, but they won't have much dish, at the offset I need. these however have a different design, so offer 3" dish on the rears, and 2.5" dish on the front. I reckon they would look pretty porn on my new car. I know they aren't a Jap brand, but I am not overly concerned. And they are half the price of CE28Ns. And no, they are NOT Chinese made fyi.
  24. hehe it worked too - a guy who had a look at it today is coming around tomorrow to have a closer look and test drive
  25. yeah Nick they replaced the vehicle speed sensors, but it didn't fix the problem - despite the ECU error code being 'vehicle speed sensors'. They are having another look at it Monday. I am in no hurry to get it - in fact the longer it takes and the more things they fix/replace before I get it, the better for me, and the more time it gives me to sell my car (a guy who is interested is coming to look at it tomorrow). I was dreeading the thought of having 3 cars and only 2 garage spots. Meant I was going to have to put the new one out under the verandah where the R34 lived for the first 6 months of its time in Aus. Not easy then to just take either car to work in for the day depending on my fancy
