  1. Haven't heard to much bad about the 2006 and onwards bravo and rangers / couriers but from 98-06 the bravo/courier 2.5 turbo diesel has a few problems

    They chew glow plugs

    Prone to cracking the head

    Generally just run a bit too hot

    The 2wd box is weak as shit an generally blows 5th gear

    And the 4wd blow diffs fairly easily

    My 2 c I'm not a fan of the great walls although I've herd good and bad but i wouldn't tell someone not to buy one if they wanted one

  2. The courier is 2x4

    And the bravo is 4x4 int not constant awd or anything just Low and high range etc

    I've been looking at it a lot today only things I can see that may be an issue is the torsion setup on the courie is slightly different but sits in the exact same position on both vehicles .

    And the gear box crossmember sits in a different position which is easily over come

  3. As above I have a 2001 2wd ford courier and a mate has a written off bravo 4wd ute it's an 03 or 04 model but practicly the same .same engine etc but it's 4wd turbo diesel not 2wd .

    My question is I know the courier is a bravo rebadged but are the 4wd and 2wd chassis the same ?

    Can I make my 2wd courier a 4wd? I have looked and everything looks pretty I identicle

    A couple of engine differences but I'm not interested in the bravo engine.

    I wanna bolt my engine to the 4wd box then bolt it in my car ?

    Would the ecus be different ?

  4. My car with the same mods as made just over 190 rwkw

    Stock with exhaust and cooler and 12psi and stock turbo it made 150rwkw mate .

    U may have a restriction somewhere

    Try dropping the cat and see if it's still good and not collapsed ?

    Do a compression test ur motor may just be worn out

    Is ur car automatic?

    Autos will have less power due to power loss through more transmission

    If its manual how old is the clutch

    There are a few places to start

  5. Ok turbo is a vj33 ihi unit

    they put the vnt unit on the ranger bt50 2.5 common rails

    This morning checked car again been busy with my business shite

    And when I looked at turbo there was a lil puddle of oil in the exhaust housing so am pretty much sure seals are gone

    When I start it . It won't rev past 3 k without becoming retarded coughing smoke an not wanting to rev any more is this a common thing when seals go ? I've had seals petrol turbo cars and they just blow white smoke constantly

    Mine only really does it a 3k so that's why I'm a lil hesitant to rip the turbo off just yet

    I took the intake pipe fans seem ok no play at all but is a lil hard to spin

    Also when I took the hot ic pipe off and revved the car still did the same thing ????

    Also turbo seems to suck and blow fine

    Is there a way I can test the injector pump ?

    I bypassed the filter to make sure it wasn't that

    But as for the pump itself I dunno how to check it

    Also did a air leak test and didn't have any I could find

    So yeah really needing advice right now hahah

  6. Alright time for an update

    Been busy getting stuffed around for work

    Ok new problem has arose to add to my woes hahaha

    Yesterday was driving home on the highway and the car started surging pretty bad ad losing power like it was a non turbo with effed rings

    Also why it's surging it loses all boost and coughs up blueish smoke ?

    I thought the Turbo may have given so I pulled the dump off to check the seals and wheels and all seems good

    I have suspected my rear muffler is on its way out because it's always had a rattle from the back of the car like someone is shaking some m12 bolts in a milo tin I'm about to drop the muffler and see if that makes it any better ? Would a collapsed muffler cause these symptoms? I personally don't thinks so but yeh

    If not I will comp test engine and do a air leak test

    Anybody no how to run these cars for errors?
