So, I have for sale, I complete 1989 Series 3, Automatic, Nissan Skyline Wagon for sale, body is in very good shape, suspension recently overhauled, brakes recently overhauled, tyres replaced less than 3 months ago, electrics work fine, except for rear windscreen motor. I am selling this for $1000, OR nearest offer, so please feel free to contact me. (Pictures attached ) I live in Tullamarine, Victoria, and arrangements would need to be made for pickup of my trusty vehicle, I will miss her. If you have any questions please contact me.
  3. Thanks Kingtube for your input, I think it is important to provide input when there is a group of manufacturers and fitters, just out for the "buck" or "$" only.
  4. Yes running the standard wheels, and I have just had put on them KUMHO KH27's, they seem quiet, and seem to hold the wet well, (it was raining here this morning) and travel very well down the freeway, and stop quite good, I'm impressed.

  6. Many thanks to those who helped me in my choice "battle", you have been a great group of people. Thanks again Robert
  7. Your right, I have decided to go with the Kumho 27, tyre, and should get them on Thursday, with a front end alignment.
  8. Yes I am near the Airport, and I have looked at the Hankook, currently interested in the Dunlop SP SPORT LM704 . (They have a good name.)
  9. I tried to find the KU31 for my size and it is not available, only R16 & R17 sizes.
  10. Yes just the size that came with the vehicle, I have currently 195 70/14 tyres at the moment, but they are horrible (dangerous in the wet).
  11. Hu Nizmo, Thank you for your advice, I have been looking around and found that KUMHO are fairly common tyres, is there anything in particular I should look out for? I do not wish to get caught again by someone out to make a quick buck, with no regard to my safety. There's a KH17 and a KH27 pattern for KUMHO's but I do not know what that means other than a pattern. Any suggestions?
  12. I agree they are rubbish, but my reseller assured me of their good quality, what do you recommend for my R31?? I am on a pension so it needs to be reasonalby low priced, but would welcome your guidelines. Bigbob
  13. Hi All, I have a R31, Wagon, and have on it "Rockstone" 195 70 R14 tyres, I believe they are made by "HANKOOK" or so my tyre reseller stated. In the dry they are a 7/10 In the wet they are a 2/10** **(I do have a 6 cylinder engine, so maybe that makes a difference, but it should not.) I have previously used "HANKOOK" tyres and found them most satisfactory either in the Dry OR the Wet, so I am disappointed with these current tyres and trading them in as soon as possible, my life and that of my wife's is too important to trust this name. Would not recommend. Would welcome any recommendations anyone has? Regards, Bigbob
  14. Hi All, I ended up buying a scond hand handle mechanism from Ebay, and installed that then went and bought a key to fit the lock, I am now OK, thanks to your info,. and feedback. Regards, Bob
  15. Hi All, I am new to forums, and very unfamiliar with this type of communication, as I was brought up in the era of snail mail and telefax etc, (I am sure you understand.) I have a Skyline R31, 3.0Ltr engine, wagon, and currently I am not able to enter the front drivers door, because the handle has become total cracked and unstable which allows the key to not operate sucessfully. The handle I discovered is made of a sturdy "plastic", and while I thought that was rather unusual I attempted to find a replacement, but to my dismay I have yet to find a replacement. In relation to my research for this part, I wondered whether amongst the many people who own Skylines, whether others may have come across this issue, and whether there is a "fix", (maybe off another type of vehicle??) that would be suitable and give me the pleasure once again to open my door with my key. My vehicle is an 1989, (series 3) Skyline, 3.0, Station Wagon, the handles are rectangular in shape and you lift to activate the release mechanism. If that is of any assistance, i am unable to access my photo of my handle but can supply one if that can be of any assistance. :unhappy: Hoping someone can help, I would be most grateful. Regards Bigbob
  16. UPDATE: As of 22/12/09. The "other" cat number that fitted my radiator fan, was nearly as expensive as the original Nissan brand. (seems it is imported from Japan) so even though it did and would have done the job, it was far too expensive this close to Christmas, so I optioned for a VL replacement part. I returned the Fan blade to Nissan, which they (thankfully) accepted with no issue. I then went to a Wrecking yard and bought a VL fan-blade, then went to my Auto parts dealer (who had originally told me to use a VL unit ) and he was able to exchange mine for the correct unit. I installed it today without too much difficulty, and all seems to be working OK, now. It seems that my intentions although earnest were not to be, and thanks to those of you on this forum I'm able to get on with keeping my Skyline in good condition, my thanks to all thos who helped me, and if anyone comes across this problem I would only be to happy tho provide any information that may be of assistance. PS...... Merry Christmas ( I got mine present today )
  17. Dear BezerkR32, Thanks for the response, and special thanks to the others who have responded it is really appreciated. I got am email from the Manufacturer of the Fan Clutch, who states the following: "It is also possible Nissan have superseded all there parts to the later model that does still take the same water-pump. I know it's a hassle but you may need to pull off the clutch first and match it up by measurement." He is again reinforcing the statement that the Fan Clutch is correct and that Nissan have changed in some way. Thankfully he has given me another Fan Clutch Number, which has the same C to C measurements of the Nissan Fan Blade. Because my vehicle is a Nissan I would like to use Nissan parts where possible, so I am thinking that I should remove the current unit on my vehicle, measure it and then compare it (Both blade & Fan Clutch) and see what comes of it. (My engine ID Plate says: RB30 175778A, Build date April 12 1989) What do you guys think? I am trying to keep my vehicle as Nissan as possible, but this is becoming a challenge that requires a strategy. I do appologise for not replying to all your messages, I am not really good at these types of things. Regards, Bob
  18. Can anyone assist me?? I have a 1989 Skyline, 6 Cyl., 3.0Litre, S/Wagon that requires a replacement fan clutch and fan blade, however I seem to have stumbled upon a problem where the two do not fit together? Let me explain: I purchased a genuine Nissan Fan blade from Nissan (Pt. No. 21060-55S01), and then after reeling in disbelief at what Nissan wished me to pay for an original Fan Clutch ($400+), I went to my local parts agent and purchased a aftermarket unit. All was going well until I attempted to join the two together, for I found that the mounting holes on the fan were too far apart to fit onto the fan clutch. I measured them and found them to be 143mm apart, whereas the holes on the fan clutch were 133mm. I contacted the Manufacturer of the fan clutch, who assures me that there were two fan blades, and that their dimensions are 133mm and 136mm. When I explained the problem he assured me I had the correct one, and that in fact the fan blade I had was for the model engine (2.6Ltr./6Cyl) after mine, which uses a fan blade of 143mm between centres. I contacted the Nissan dealer that I purchased the part from and He assures me that I have the correct part, and even faxed me over a copy of his parts list which shows only one part number for my engine! I realise that things happen, but now I am confused as to what I should do, and I would welcome any assistance more experienced people can provide. Please excuse any out of place comments, I am new to "forums" and such. Thank you, Bob
