  1. IT was CVT issue as per nissan hornsby Computers, like i said they said they rang a 3rd party CVT specialist who had 3 of these cars there by insurance (I am not sure why insurance was paying for it we spaculated that the Mechanics's insurance was paying for it cus of the wrong oil applied , i dont exactly remember how we got to that conclusion but). the mechanic had to go to japan buy a car from wrecker grab the transmission and bring it to australia use the parts from that and fix the transmission in these cars with the cost of 15 k each and i am guessing another 2 k for oil. the oild was quoted at $560 a can of 4 litter the car needs 10 litters hence 3 cans around 1800 dollars for the oil and the change 2 k. I had nissan tell me the reason it stuffed had nothing to do with the oil change because thier maximas and other cars have the transmission oil for life unless the car is used to towe caravans etc.. I then had another mechanic tell me over the phone that the reason the transimission failed was cus the oil wasnt changed! Mind you the car had done 106 000 km by the time it got stuffed and from wat ppl say the oil needs to be changed at 100 k km ! so i went 6 000 km over the limit ! yea right !
  2. i took it to nissan hornsby they put it on the computer and told me the Transmission is gone and they had 3 different cars were the mechanic had put in the wrong tran oil in them and each cost 15 k to fix by a 3rd party mechanic and he had to get the transmission imported from japan.. They said the transmission new is 30 k . the sympthems , the car started shutting down when it was cold started after 3-4 meters of driving that was it for couple of weeks. then it started playing up and skipping while cold started for the first 5-10 min. and eventually one fine day after about a month it wouldnt go past 30 km no matter how hard i pressed the accelerator. and just to let u know 2 month ago my window motor broke, i called everyone no one had it , i found some guy in adelaide who said he can import it from japan for 550 bux and it takes 3 weeks. one whole day googling and 20 calls later i found a car that was in a wrecker and they took out the motor for me , even then the motor wasnt right for some reason and the wires had to be switched to work. too much pain for a freaking window !!! dont you think...
  3. Hi Mate,

The problem is not with these type of cars its with the CVT transmission.

If your car has EXTROID CVT transmission you are in trouble.

no one touches them or knows how to fix them.

    Their oil is expensive.

    They die too easy .

They hardly ever last over 100 000 km.

You can not find a second hand one.

I couldnt service the transmission nissan didnt...

  4. Hey Rami

I have a Coupe 2005 V35 and I wanted to know a few things and if you can reply that would be great.

    1) Did your insurance paid for the car

    2) Did you ever take your car to a Nissan Dealer

    3) How often should you change the Trans Oil

    4) Does this problem also happen in the coupe 05 model.

    Thanks for your help

    Brian

  5. SOLD I listed it at 11 am today on a sunday , by 6 pm i had around 10 calls , 2 offers were 2k and a 3k one. but most ppl didnt have any idea about the transmissions etc they were asking about how hard it is to fix etc.. they would get surprised when i told them how much it cost to fix the transmission. anyways by the end of it i was sick of it all; a wrecker who actaully knew what he was doing and had the transmission already, bought it. I would never again buy import, its rediculus to have to pay 300$ for a front light, or 2k for the bloody transmission oil! no matter how good is the car! Got a ralliart not as smooth but just as fast
  6. I am not desperate to sell it in terms of money , but i want to get rid of it now i don't have space for it . I heard wreckers pay peanuts for it . Could you let me know which wrecker would buy it for 4.5 or more and i am happy to sell it , so far i am getting calls for 2-3.5 grand !
  7. Well I bought this car 18 month a go, looked really clean and in good condition. Then about 2 month into it i started comming across all these forum topics about how crap thier transmission are and why it was discontinued etc etc... I thought well hopefully they are not correct and people want to deflate the cars price for what ever reason. Sure enought 18 month into it my transmission is completely gone. As soon as it hit 100 k it was gone. it first started playing up and then bam it died. No one can fix the transmission and i heaard figures around 15k -30 k to have it fixed even then i gotta change the oil (if i can find it) and that is another 2K worth. And no i didnt change the oil cus i couldnt find it but i thought surly it will last 10-20 k over 100 k till i find the $2000 transmission oil. But no car couldnt wait .. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330637623565
  8. Sorry guys I am new to this, I bought my V35 January it has done around 75 000 now. I read in many places that oil does not need to change till 100 000 so I am going to do it at 90 000 just to be safe. But I am reading here that you guys change the belt alos? I am sure I read online that this CVT has a metal belt and hence there is no need for belt change ! Am I wrong? If so at what KM should it be changed and how much does it cost? Regards'
  9. hi guys, I have a v35 sedan 2003 model , i backed up to a pole and now the rear bumper is bent, i dont think nissan will have it as a spare they didnt even have the breaks... does any one know if it can be fixed? it has gone in 5-6 cm. if not where can i purchase one? there are plenty on ebay but those ones look worse than the one i already have .
