  1. does a lower car also have a better or worse aero dynamic efficancy ?
  2. do those Pon cams work with the n/a standard ecu like they claim to work thith the turbo one or is it differant ? is there a very small step one cam that will work a little bit better than standard ....with standard internals or once u step into cams u should always get head work done ?

Part : Extractors Why: To help the exhaust "pulse" flow and the speed and rate the exhaust gas exits the car Explaination: as the exhaust gas leaves each cylender we can now call this a pulse... on a standard system each pulse meets from each cylender along the pipe at the same place. Result: extractors go 3 joints to 2 one joint to the end joint so this now pulls the pulses on the corrosponding cylenders down the pipes allowing them to escape better faster and in most cases louder Car is now more efficant at removing the gases and will also deliver slighty higher results but again is more efficant

Part :CAI plus air filter or pod Why : to reduce the ammount of restriction the standard system has and to give the car colder air Explaination: The standard system cardboard filter is quite restrictive (poor water through paper then through a siv) with a phome filter or good pod the air can flow more freely into the induction pipes through afm ect ect Problem : Pod without CAI or proper box will turn out worse Hot air is less dense and has less oxygen (i think)... (heat saturation) Solution: CAI to deliver colder air to the now better flowing pod or filter Result: Possible..... slight!.... gain in power but more importantly allowing the engine to recive colder air at a faster rate allowing it to breathe better changing its efficancy and response

After reading that some people are getting fustrated at telling others that they shouldnt expect there n/a to be 100 times more powerful with basic modification's lets try and put one together with the help of everyone that explain why you do it what they do and what results should be felt or will happen to the engine.... how about Part: why: Result: and or Explaination:

Fair enough ... i suppose its hard for some people without the proper knoledge to understand why a pod and cat back dont give them 1000 kw xtra at the wheels lol .... i suppose there is only a sertain ammount of times u can tell someone something haha we need a thred of more technical things to do with modification ..... such as an explaination of why its better but doesnt give u so much more power lol ill see if i can get one going... ?

Hello Grey Im very sorry to see this community is becoming very intollerant and rude to many people .... it looks like people have just come onto this forum fundly enough named "n/a performance" just to be rude and prove how much better there tubo cars are blah blah blah and give almost 0 useful info. Minus the fact i dont condone street racing i do own an N/A ... so with ur shinnanigans with your friend i would fundimentaly consider power to weight ...... look at the details between yours and the civic also look at the power that the cars in the same weight verses the civic like lancer mirage exel ect u will find the civic should be up there .... u should go to wisid and have a few go's and if ur around in a couple months i wold be very willing to come out and race u for intrest i just am waiting for some money to get things nice and par with my engine before i consider any of this buissness. i would also look at doing some very small mods witch people with turbos will cary on about "u wont gain much power ect ect" but the things people look over it increases response and breatheability.... so lets say ur 147kw advitised engine is getting to this speed at 10 seconds the same engine with exhaust air intake and a piggy back may have 150 kw for example but changed breathing will get there a little bit quicker and feel alot more fun to drive and will put more space between u and the civic. have a good one man dont let monkeys ruin your bannnas

  14. r34 non turbo neo automatic Code 21 MIL ... intermittant , constant then miss fire Replaced coil pack closest to CAS num1, or 6 i think it is Light went off car works fine Problem " A COILPACK WILL NOT CASUE ENGINE MIL" Says my head nechanic and several qualified mechanics and a import specialist Im now chasing a problem that doesnt exist lol So ign system will obviosly be linked to several sensors r34 workshop manual not very helpful ............. i need flow chart or data of what is linked to the system and the voltages they need to be within I have been told possible ign sinal from barrell staying on after start. IM a second year apprentice and have tools and a little bit of know how around checking signals and i have pin in and out ecu diagram can anyone help ... the car is fine and working but apparently it shoudnt be ...... i have stumped alot of people and no one wants to go near this ...... is annoying casue the car is fine and working .... but the problem shouldnt technicly be gone !!   15. Hay guys checked with my head mechanic and found a scanner then found another one after 3 diff scanners all found code 21 "ign signal problem" ok i have read all the posts on diagnostics it seems to be always coil packs has anyone ever herd or had something other than that ?

Hay mate look into the 100k service kits it would be much the same again timing belt drive belt aux belts water pump also i would do spark plugs also wouldnt hurt to also have general servise stuff done Battery bushes joints shocks ect all liquids trans diff power steering coolant brake fluid If u really wanna go in depth have ur coil pack checked for resistance ect

Car: er34 rb25de neo auto Situation : Engine light on cold start .... after 15 min of driving turn car off and on again ... light turns off Problem car will most likey run rich when light is on and .... the light is on lol Checked : head not making rude sounds (oil flow should be ok ) Engine oil pressure (dash guage) seems a bit high but nothng crazy water temp (dash guage) normal no misfire clunks or rude sounds Runs fine after restart after about 15min driving Pow wow : thinking possible o2 sensor or ecu water temp sensor (aparently theres 2 one for dashand another for ecu) Has anyone had this before... the boss does not have a scanner but possibly have one lined up tomorrow afternoon ..... need to get falt code Has anyone experinsed this before ? and what was the solution Thanks everyone
  18. this is very true hole fuel system would need ot be done and about the t/b the loss in the low end is probly not as much of an issue if hes going for hp and not respnse ..... if u have it tunned right shouldnt the use of more air and more fuel with t/b give u more response in the low end if done right ?   19. im a 1st year greese monkey with an r34 rb25de and i have done a bit of looking and talking with people in the performance industry .....now this may sound little bit out of the norm but how about just a bigger throttle body & injectors and a adaptronic ecu ? more air more fuel ... tunned properly .... should give u that extra that u want....... ecu installed and tunned $1900....... injectors and probs fuel pump no more than mayz $800...... and top end t/b maybe $150 ? this also may lead way to cams & valve train being utilized better if u choose so latre on .... also wet pants ... would love to hear more about how & why u finaly choose and what its gains were ... great thred

Hello All After speaking to a mechanic localy I was informed that the tranmission and drivetrain ect Is the same throughout the r34 series eg the rb25de drivetrain and transmission are the same parts as the RB25det in the auto and manual. Is this statement correct ? If so light modding on the rb25de would be well within the driveline and transmission threshold ? Thankyou all for feedback

Hello People My name is Simon I live in sydney and im about 2 months off buying a skyline (R34 non turbo 4door ) I am planning to modify stereo and light engine mods (exhaust + CAI + Ecu ) Then down the track putting the neo DET in Thankyou for taking the time to read my intro If anyone has links to discussion or knows an estimate of KW / HP Gain for the light engine mods that I have listed it would be of value Carnt wait to cruze / meet the sydney crowd .... thanks
