  1. Tell me about it, i still have 2 1/2 years here haha, thats what made me think about the car, it affected my performace so much i thought maybe the principal would transfer over?call me crazy
  2. I know BP does, not really sure about shell but. Its good if you can find shell 101, havnt seen if for over a year but its not very common.
  3. May try that actually, will have to wait until the end of the wet season for a cool day with lower humidity but.Yeah bigger intercooler is on the to do list lol
  4. It was tested on fifth gear (the gay little brother of top gear) Cars were dyno tested running different fuels, Bp ultimate,V-power and independent servo 98 octane The BP and Vpower both showed an increase in KW at the rear wheels but the V power made more It only made a noticable difference in high performance cars, they used a WRX STi and as i remember i think it made about another 10-12kw atw with v-power vs about 8kw with the bp.
  5. Yeah true, but i noticed in 1/4 mile time cards humidity is listed as a factor alongside temp, wind etc. Maybe slightly worse for wind resistance or something, im out of ideas haha.
  6. Yeah i know temp is an issue, but cant figure out the humidity, the air is so thick and heavy, i know its not the same but breathing while running here is so much harder than in low humidity i thought maybe it could have a similar effect on a car.
  7. Picked up a fresh import 34 GTT last week, now its in townsville, just wondering if anyone knows if the crushing humidity here (generally 75 to 95% all the time) has an effect on the performance or fuel efficiency? If so to what extent? I assume the car is made for cooler and less humid japan, hence the small intercooler so if anyone can help please do. Thanks in advance.
  8. Picked up my 34 GTT sedan last week and managed to get it to the drags for a few runs last night, Its a tiptronic and stock as a rock, just wanted to set a benchmark before i start modding it. Anyway here it is. Wind- NA Temp- 27*c Humidity-81% Reaction- 1.124 60ft- 2.195 1/4 mile-15.225 Speed-90.1 mph (145 km/h) If anyone else has tried this and got anything dramatically different let me know, otherwise i hope this helps anyone with the same car who cant find a 1/4 mile, or anyone looking to buy a GTT
  9. Its a good way for servos to 'compete' against eachother to make more money for the company, if one bp is 15c diffrent for a week, probably a vast majority of people will go straight to the cheap bp before any other servos, maybe they think its accidentaly too low or something and take advantage of it. Also that gets people talking about that servo and its price so its like free advertising, people talk about the price difference and when they need fuel afterwards they can remember the price and what servo it was and they go there. Maybe haha
  10. Yeah i have heard some pretty crazy stories, my mate worked on a dock for tnt and witnessed a loader joy riding a 911 gt3 through the dock and side swiping a cargo container at about 40km. Id wish id seen them try to talk their way out of that one.Guy was sacked and charged by the coppers, dont know what happened with the car but.
  11. Some people....The worst part is they make you out to be so stupid by expecting you to believe their BS stories. You eventually got them to bathurst without too much more trouble i suppose?
  12. Finally got Ceva to agree to fix the damage to my car, and had it looked at this afternoon. Cevas' very creative story in the end is that when they picked up the car,in the lighting conditions at the time (outside in the open at noon in brisbane with no clouds) they somehow missed the damage to the front bar.The driver wrote out the survey report, with no damage on it gave the importer his copy and then took the car to his truck, and as he loaded it he 'noticed the damage' and decided that had better add it to all his copies of the survey report but 'should have gone back to the yard to add it to the original'.So by some sort of mix up the paperwork was altered after the survey, the fresh touch up paint and damage was already there, and the week of denying any liablity was just a big mix up.But because they're nice people they're gonna help me out and give me the benefit of the doubt. A good outcome for me but they're still not admitting they tried to cover it up with dodgy paperwork and a touch up job.Very bad attitudes and excuses all round anyway.
  13. Hey everyone, Just throwing it out there, wondering if something was organised in the townsville region, cruise or meet, how many people would actually be interested in coming along... Nothin planned yet, just checking the interest so if you like the idea throw a post here, its open to any ideas aswell. Hopefully hear from a few people and we can get something worthwhile organised..Thanks.
  14. Haha, classic. Must have just decided that taking it to the right side of the country was close enough,NSW and Queensland ARE right next door haha
  15. Thats massive, who was it that done this? And what did they do about it when you picked up the vehicle?
  16. The freighting was organised by the seller of the car who had never used CEVA before.I think they were the only company that could move my vehicle on the dates i needed it moved and i didnt know until it was being collected that it was Ceva doing it or i would have copped out and waited. I was worried after last time but didnt expect this fromm them, thought maybe the first time was just an isolated thing, guess not hey.
  17. Its great to see servos stay low when nearby ones are much higher, a few months ago while on the NSW central coast i passed a bp with unleaded for i think about $1.35 then passed another 2 within 5 minutes a,shell and mobil, selling for 12c more per litre. Im aware its the governmnet not the servo owners that increase the prices,i really think their convinced we wont notice a 10-20c price hike every holiday or 3 day weekend.Im sure noone forgets a few years back when, for a few months, premium in some parts of NSW (central coast, some of sydney that i visited) was $2.05 per litre most days of the week.
  18. Like i said earlier everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is that you take responsibility for them, if they did that i would'nt have a problem at all.I originally thought it was the importer that did it but when he sent me his original copy of the survey report, marked in pen, it had less damage marked on it then my carbon copy, the original had no bumper damage marked yet my copy mysteriously did. Also the photo of the car taken with the truck in the background showed no damage.
  19. You would think they would love another excuse to increase prices at the pump along with long weekends, holiday season, time of day etc
  20. Thats insane! Mine wasnt bad it was just the principal of it, but yours is crazy. And they make it so hard for you to get it covered by them, with all their money they cant fix up something they damaged themselves. It would be a different story if you damaged one of their trucks with your car. Im sure %99 of their customers are happy but you have to wonder how many dont check their cars out properly, or get fooled by altered paperwork and touch ups.
  21. Its just not acceptable, i dont mean to sound arrogant but honestly how hard could it be to get it right.
