  1. Hi all, just doing the timing belt on my RB26. Been 20 years since I did one so I've forgotten most things! All genuine Nissan belt, tensioner, idler, spring. Followed the factory instructions but gave it a little tighten as I thought it needed it. Started it and it whined like no tomorrow. Stripped it back down and just let the spring do it's job. Whine better but still quite noisy. Stripped it all again and just took a smidge out of the tension. Now I have no whine but worried it's now too loose. Seems to be a fine line between too tight and too loose! Belt has some vibration on the intake side and want to check this is normal/ok. Turned it straight off after the video, just to put your mind at rest! Thanks.
  2. Sorry, I know this is an old one but just trying to get mine going and preserve all the items the car has from the factory. It was completely dead. Have removed the display and reflowed and tested the resistors under there and that got it to power on but the buttons don't work. So I replaced the buttons and reflowed every component on it but still no joy. I guess the OKI chip is fried but just in case anyone came across something similar and fixed it, please let me know 👍
