  1. Hi, I agree with Guilt Toy most likely the sensor, should always read 100-102 kpa when not running in most of Oz. Lots of crappy copies of the Delco sensor. It could be bad earth, wiring ecu etc. but very likely sensor.
  2. Many varied opinions, overall I think the chicks win. Both good cars the 34 is way more practical but I love Supras too. Cops may pick on you more in the Supra as looks to be going too fast even when parked. Cheers, Grant.
  3. Hi Hanalado, I would start with a=0v b=4.99 In the lower section would have a=10 b=19.98. After this is done I hold the revs around 1500 and then highlight about six boxes around the current load point using the shift and arrow keys. I then make the numbers larger using the Q key until I get down to 10/1 afr and make sure the ecu reads the same as the aem. Then make the numbers smaller using the A key until you get to 18/1 afr and make sure the numbers match. It should but sometimes you have to alter the numbers a little. If you do change numbers you need to go back to the other extreme and recheck and keep doing that until its right at both extremes. Hope this helps. Cheers, Grant.
  4. Make sure you have got the fuel lines to the fuel rail around the correct way-easy to get wrong.
  5. Hi discopotato03, there are more outputs which may or not be of use to you, the main thing apart from the direct spark is the onboard individual cylinder knock control. Cheers, Grant.
  6. Hi SimonR32, when the mixture map is open-the ecu must be online, right click on the map and go to properties and it gives lots of options to only show samples with more meaning, eg. how close to centre of cell, how many samples, throttle rate etc. Its quite accurate when set up. Cheers, Grant.
  7. I had a problem like this before an it was the power supply to the coils, It red fine with a volt meter but had no current, to check this get a headlight globe pref. 100w , find the power wire on the coils-remove all the plugs off the coils to confirm the power supply wire see if it glows the bulb bright like a headlight-if not you have found your problem area. Is it the model with the ignitor at rear of engine or do the coils have inbuilt ignitor.I think 93 has the ignitor.
  8. I'm lucky enough to own a R34gtr and a R35. They are very different, the 35 does everything so easy-too easy really. The 34 is very modified N1, stroked, gtrs turbo's, cams, Vipec etc. You can really feel its a generation apart but the 34 has a soul the 35 doesn't. One day would sell the 35 can't ever think of selling the 34.
  9. Hi Boxer, how did you test the fuel and spark, coz if its got them two it should go
  10. Hi guys, you can use the maths key on the log file with the Link-its a lot slower than the Mixture map but does the same job. Cheers, Grant.
  11. Hi guys, there seems to be lots of confusion over the plugin Link and Vi-pec Nissan ecu's. They are made by the same company-true. Are they the same? No they are very different on the Nissan plugin board. The Vi-pec has a 4 bar inbuilt map sensor. The Vi-pec has an ignition output channel for each cylinder, the Link runs wasted spark. The Vi-pec has built in individual cylinder knock control. The Link needs an external knock unit and then can only retard 2 cylinders at once due to the wasted spark. The Vi-pec has more outputs than the Link. The Vi-pec comes with a high speed air temp sensor. The tuning software on the Vi-pec has one very important feature called the MIXTURE MAP table which makes tuning on the track or road very easy which the Link does not. This works by setting your a/f targets in the open loop table, then setting the fuel numbers so the engine runs richer/safer than you want to end up with, drive the car around on the track, road or run up on the dyno. Go to the mixture map page and the fuel sites that the engine has been into will come up on the page telling you what your target a/f ratio is, your actual a/f ratio, how many times it has looked at the a/f ratio. For example at 5000 rpm and 1.5 bar boost your target may be 12/1 (it could be anything the tuner wants the target to be you just put it in the target table - 11/1-13/1 whatever ) so say the actual comes up as 10.5/1 all you do is double click on the box and it will change the number in the main fuel table to suit the target 12/1. This is really useful when tuning high horsepower cars on the dyno where holding 2 bar of boost at 7500 rpm for very long is really hard on everything. If I am wrong on anything written here please tell me. These are the reason why the Vi-pec is more expensive than the Link. Cheers, Grant.
