  1. This is going to be a fairly unique project amongst Skylines, as it seems most people go for big power and not much else. My goal with this car is to bring it into modern day styling while still being relatively fast and comfortable for daily use. Including an R34 body conversion much like another member MWR34 of this site did and full custom interior upgrade. You may ask, why not just buy an R34? Well, this is a car I want to bring back to the US with me when I return, and they have very strict rules about importation, the car must be 25 years old or older to come through without any hassle. The car as it currently sits: Current Mods: Full Exhaust (HKS downpipes, stock cat, Trust Power Extreme II cat-back) HKS Hiper-D suspension (old and tired, but not blown) Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller Tuned ECU HKS Twin Plate Clutch HKS Air Filters 18" Work Emotion XD9 Eclipse Navigation DVD/CD 7" LCD Red Bride Brix II seats Custom clear lens headlights with blacked out inner housing and 55w 6000k HID's. Upcoming Mods (in no particular order): Upcoming Mods (this list isn't completely in chronological order and will be changed/updated as I see fit): -19x9.5 +12 TE37 knockoffs with 245 or 255/35/19 tires (already got the wheels, ordering tires now). -350z dashboard and center console custom installed along with 350z door panels. Will either be reupholstered in leather, alcantara, or a mix of both. Will use 350z gauges as well. (main dashboard is on the way to me now, will take a few months to complete the fitting as quite a bit of customization is needed) -R34 GT-R (or Eastbear replica) seats, reupholstered in leather eventually. Or perhaps R35 GT-R seats as well, not sure yet. Has anyone fitted R35 seats in a R32/33/34? -R34 GT-R Spoiler -Remove all old sound deadening material, and apply newer material with better sound blocking capabilities (Second Skin most likely) -Complete stereo system (External processor, single 12" sub in the spare tire well, 6 channel amp for front stage, mono amp for sub, 8" and 5.25" in the door, tweeter either on a-pillar or mirror trim) -Complete R34 body conversion (except for doors and roof), not going to be done until I deploy (I'm military) in 2012. Here's an example picture of the end product: http://s949.photobuc...MG_3413copy.jpg http://i74.photobuck...34/IMG_0444.jpg (I won't mold in the side skirt like MWR34 did though) -Respray to pearl white and complete rust removal and restoration throughout the entire car -475-500bhp mild engine upgrades (Nismo N1 turbos, bigger injectors, and ECU ROM tune?) -Aragosta suspension (great handling characteristics while still being soft enough for daily driving) and other suspension goodies. -New carpet throughout, higher quality carpeting -R34 GT-R or F40/F50 brake upgrade -Much less aggressive clutch, perhaps Nismo coppermix? -A few gauges to fit into the triple gauge location in the 350z center panel Will start the dash work next week when it arrives. Should also have the new wheels fitted in a couple weeks. Will keep everyone posted with updates. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions!
  2. If you seal them well, weather won't be a problem. So take your time and remove all the old adhesive, and maybe even use the genuine Nissan headlight adhesive. I didn't use it, because I didn't know about it, so I just used standard silicone sealant. Working great for me so far, no water has got in. I live in Japan, so I got mine from Yahoo Auctions. I'm sure there must be someone in Australia with a connection here.
  3. I had the standard size Zeta III and I've got a 33.5-34" waist. It was snug, but I daily drove it for a while just fine. I couldn't wear bulky clothes, so if you are a wannabe rapper and wear pants that are too big for you, you won't fit. But if you wear normal clothes, you should be fine with the L size Zeta.
  4. I don't see many R33's owned by Japanese in Japan any more. But I will say that foreigners living in Japan seem to absolutely love them. I guess because they are slightly newer than the R32, reasonably priced, and easy to modify.
  5. Any updates on this? Would like to see it all carpeted up and complete. I love all the people who say "it will handle worse and be slower!" then ask those people how much money they make every year from winning races with their amazing handling lightweight stripped out GTR's. I will be doing something similar, except I will be using a IDMAX 12" sub in the spare tire well, and it will all be made from fiberglass with a MDF frame to save some of that extra weight. Good job!
  6. Well I see you've already sold it, but I just wanted to say this thread has been a real inspiration for my own 32. I was going to just do the R34 front using the OEM style Bee*R conversion fenders, but after seeing you do the rear too, I'm going to follow in your footsteps. Mine will be pearl white though on white 19" TE37's. I also won't mold in the side skirt the way you did, I like the stock look better. Luckily I am in Japan, so over the next year I am going to be buying up all the used OEM parts I can find from Yahoo Auctions Japan, should be able to save a significant amount from what you sent just by not using brand new stuff, and not the Z-Tune stuff either. This was an amazing build, sorry it got sold.
  7. Who told you they screw up the projection of the light beam? I've got these same light covers and my light pattern isn't messed up at all. the stock projector lights have the clear circle anyways. Here are mine:
  8. I know bumping up a 2 year old post is a terrible noob thing to do, but someone pointed me to this car from GTROC. I'm about to pull the trigger on buying some R34 Brembos for my R32 GTR and I have the same wheels as this car. I saw in the spec sheet that you've got Brembos, and I'm wondering if you had to run spacers or anything, or if they clear the XD9 spokes without problems? Thanks!
