  1. yep it starts gently but gets painful quickly

if training for strength you want to be fully recovered for each of your heaviest sets... it can be 5 min or longer... you want to approach the set with 100% effort and focus... it's a bit of a balance between recovering fully and getting cold (which isn't much of an issue at the moment)

  2. lol

Mitch: definitely mate... there's really no fancy tricks to it other than using proper equipment and being surrounded by people that are stronger than you... I'm just doing PPP, no secret squirrel programs or crazy assistance exercises... if I feel good I add some more volume and weight... if I feel average I just grind out the program for the day

bench press is the one I've been really focussing on as I'm well behind most lifters... even guys much lighter than me... I'm pressing as much and as heavy as my shoulders will allow... if they start hurting I take a day off but otherwise I'm pressing every session... getting 3 x 110 pretty easily now... moving my grip out slowly

  3. yep 180 at ProRaw... no wraps or belt but in a pair of Do Wins

I was feeling strong yesterday, was tempted to throw on some more weight and go for a single rep PR but will wait a week or two before I start doing singles

training by yourself is hard... training with strong people around gives you extra motivation... I'm definitely making better progress switching my training to PTC... that and I've pretty much been on holiday since christmas lol

  4. practiced squatting in the wraps again

    (just belt)

    3 x 155

    3 x 155

    (belt and wraps)

    3 x 170

    3 x 180 (PR)

getting the hang of them... also tried low bar position but didn't like it... not flexible enough and it hurts my wrists/hands

  5. see told you, set the bar high... nice lifting

seriously though WTF crappy bar/plates are you using!? basically doing deads from a deficit every rep due to the small diameter of the plates lol... you could've propped them up on something

  6. Nick, where do you train? PTC in Frankston?

Used to train at the St Kilda PCYC... now at PTC Frankston

still train in St Kilda once a week but am mostly at the PTC this year... much better equipment and someone's always there to give advice, spot etc

I'm currently working from home so have time to head down there during the week... not sure how long that will last but it's ideal at the moment
