  1. Did I happen to see you at hume highway last week? Peak hour traffic? and a white 33 let you out of the petrol station?
  2. ^This. Tried installing one in mine thinking I was going to have a fully sick readout because my engine was running rich as f**k. Ended up researching after I installed it to find out you need a wide band sensor. Which are roughly $300
  3. Okay I can get the car back. Now I'm wondering if I get a rolling shell, can I transfer the engine transmission etc into the shell and get it registered?
  4. What's the max I should pay for it if it was insured for $7k? Chassis obviously bent, windscreen cracked, ECU completely fked, front left panel and door. Also somehow my boot has a dent in it??? Subwoofer? o_O
  5. How would I go about getting the car back. I'm going to ring up my insurance company tomorrow and ask them, is there anything specific I should be asking them?
  6. I got the insurance payout before I even received the fine so it makes no sense
  7. Well I have several witnesses him admitting fault. Also the damage suggests he NEVER attempted to brake, how do you get that type of tbone damage doing 10k's, you get what I'm saying? It appears he had his foot down at some point. Exactly what everyone is telling me, if I didn't pay excess then I'm all good, the government is trying to scam money, and the cops are corrupt lmfao.
  8. No I did not. I have been advised on a few good solicitors so I'll get onto that asap. EDIT: Received a response from State Debt Recovery: ' We are yet to receive the details of your penalty notice from the issuing authority. Once we receive the information we will place your penalty on hold and refer your email to the appropriate unit for processing. This may take several weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. ' So are they telling me my demerit points won't be deducted yet? and the fine won't raise in price?
  9. There's nothing else to it Both the police officers which were taking care of the situation both seemed to know what happened just by looking at it and given my story which is literally the only story they can base the accident off of as "He NEVER seen me". He did either not stop where he was suppose to (kept rolling, entered the roundabout and never? looked) He seen me and thought, ahh he will wait for me... (still not giving way) As I've stated many times, it was too late to avoid collision all together so I tried to make it as bare minimal of an impact as I could, and as you can tell by the impact, he must of had his foot down... I even said to my friend in the passenger a second before it happened, "What the f$&k is this guy (bang) doing?" As for the fine, apparently EVERYONE gets them, but no one bothers to fight it. I'm definately fighting it. My friend had a car accident a few months ago, he was exiting a car park, and it's sort of like a cork screw, roads were wet. The back end slipped out, 180 and hit the gutter, screwing the control arm. 5 minutes later a police officer arrived. 10 minutes later a police officer also lost it around the same bend. My friend still received negligent driving...
  10. As I said before, nothing to lose so I can only try I have been sent a fine for negligent driving and only just received it today from the police. The fine incurred a $353 fine and from what I've been told it's 3 demerit points... I don't see what I had actually done wrong, so why am I being fined? Can I argue against this? EDIT: Found this... "Just because you have been involved in a car accident, it does not necessarily follow that you were negligent and many people are charged with negligent driving even though they were not negligent. Many people will choose not to fight the charge as it is generally only a small fine." - http://www.primelaw.com.au/Service-199-Negligent_Driving_Charges.aspx
  11. Fair enough, well It's worth a try I suppose. I have nothing to lose. Otherwise it will just have to wait. I'll have 2 whole years to muck around with it
  12. Ahh yes, I understand now. I don't ever want the experience of my car getting demolished like that ever again Low goals? Come on... It's one of the best things I've ever looked forward to. All of my friends and such are excited as shit to be 18, I couldn't really give a damn. I'm more excited for a GTR I think the loopholes still work... Well I'm pretty sure they do, even though the 'loophole' is something I'd legitimately like to do. Don't want to reveal too much though
  13. -_- Give me a break. It's been my dream car since I was a little kid selling all my brothers cars on Gran Turismo 2 just to buy a skyline. The idea was to get the GTR roughly 6 months before getting my blacks so I could maybe work on it a little. To own a R32 GTR would complete my life.
  14. Was planning on getting an exemption. I would like to try and possibly be as legal as possible. I'm thinking if I were to throw on L plates and drive with my brother who has his blacks, would that be legal? In the case that he is taking me on a few "lessons". What do you mean by cover?
  15. Insurance money is already through. Doesn't look like I'll be getting the car back >:[ I'm now looking for a 32 GTR, I always promised myself I'd get my GTR prior to getting my blacks and well, I don't want another GTS. Still got another 2 and a half years til' blacks...
  16. Yeah forget it, this is what my car (is it even mine any more?) looks like: http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4977/07112011102.jpg
  17. Very understandable, the diagram isn't exactly to scratch from what I remember. I had already entered the roundabout knowing that he SHOULD of been stationary to give way but instead he didn't stop AT ALL and drove straight into me. Think of it as someone running a redlight, he did exactly that. Does anyone know if I'm eligible to read his statement he gave to the police? Also another thing that really got me pissed. He took off before we could even exchange any details, I had to get his details off of his tow truck driver -_- EDIT: More photos http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4977/07112011102.jpg http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/1982/07112011101.jpg Subaru Forester...
  18. Thanks, I'm not sure if it is or not I'll have to wait for the inspection. It only happened yesterday
  19. Obviously I know how to stop the car properly... I'm trying to say it was too late to stop, if I had tried I would of hit his car directly...
  20. I knew 100% it was too late and if I had been hard on the brakes (no abs) so possible lock-up as well, also to swerve behind him I would of mounted the gutter and slammed into the light pole there Yeah sorry about the title, still angry >:[. I didn't quite get to speak to him after I had calmed down but I think he felt really, really bad. I'm positive he didn't do it on purpose!
  21. So my rego's coming up on the 13th, it was a decent day and a perfect time to get the pink slip out of the way. So I drive down to the mechanic, leave it with him for an hour or so and pick it back up. Beautiful, it passed, no problems. I figured while I had time I'd give it a wash so I head on to supercheap to grab some cleaning materials. Literally across the road was supercheap. Until this: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7192/original1y.jpg I know, it's a very sad image... Here's a quick run down of what had happened. *Note, the other car was stationary on the 1st exit when I done both my head checks. He also appeared stationary in the MIDDLE of the road when I first realized he had pulled out, my immediate thought was "he knows I'm coming directly for him so I'll attempt to miss him completely". When half way through my attempt he had accelerated. http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/5509/unledxf.jpg At the point of where I had stopped the poor skyline, I was quite angry and very explicitly asked the other driver, What the F#^K were you thinking? The first words I kid you not were "Mate, I seriously didn't see you coming". I was losing my shit. I just got my pink slip literally 20 minutes ago so the car is deemed roadworthy and now this. A write-off. No one was harmed, out of pure luck. I solely believe that I had done the best I could to avoid anyone getting injured, which worked. If I had slammed the brakes I would of hit his car directly on the driver side and as I was traveling faster than him the damage would of been much worse and a much larger potential for an injury to occur. A disappointing loss to the Skyline community, but I will be sure to get myself another.
  22. Car: '93 R33 GTS S1 RB25DE Okay I've finally got my consult cabled hooked up to my car and the laptop running. First thing I done was read error codes to find that apparently my knock sensor is faulty. Though there are no signs of the knock sensor playing up at all (idling @ 675rpm, normal performance) I just ended up clearing the fault code but it kept coming up, I ignored it. Couple of nights ago I started the car (prior use was 2hrs before), took off up the street, at the stop sign the car starts revving 675-1500 by itself (faulty knock sensor?) After I took off it stopped and I haven't seen the problem since. No fault error codes any more. Is there any possible way of testing the car to see if it's really faulty or not? My muffler and one of my hotdogs recently needed to be replaced, so I ended up with a cannon and a used hotdog. But I want more out of my exhaust. Many have told me go for a 3" straight pipe all the way through. Any other suggestions? I also need a good place to get my car serviced and what not due to rego coming up soon, is there any good places around the Macarthur area? Thanks
  23. Yeah I don't think the readings were accurate at all, so I wouldn't say it's 13.5:1 Will the temp sensor affect my car at all?
  24. ^All of the above, it was given to me, the jaycar one that you build yourself. It's hooked up to the ecu wire. I hooked up my ecu cable today and ran a error test, apparently my knock sensor has an error for the last 25 starts (I believe ECU holds up to 50?) and roughly 25 starts ago I had to take my car to the mechanic, he is a dodgy mechanic but I was forced to take it there. After he replaced my clutch there was a red light for the exhaust I believe on the dash, so I asked him wtf is this shit and he raises the car back up, pulls this cable out of the cat converter (I think) and rips the inner wire completely out and puts the cable back in, then tells me it's fixed. I believe that's the secondary o2 sensor? Does it affect the car in any way? Where abouts is the knock sensor located? and can I replace it? Thanks in advanced
