i guess it depends on how you get the money in the first place..i sweat for mine and not in the habit of throwing it away and i guess thats where my point is coming from...why spend 10`s of thousands of $ on a car ..that you can buy allready done for less + it has the badge and all the b/s for resale and is a better car than any backyard conversion ..period your original question ..should i buy a decent car to start with or should i start a money pit ...you obviously lean towards the pit ..good luck ..have fun ..try not to make the same mistakes as old mate with the non-runner in WA ,ie: put BIG engine in std driveline...break driveline...upgrade driveline...break BIG engine...replace with BIGGER engine ...then break ???? ...oh yeah better upgrade the brakes and chassis ...wheres that autech brochure from the forum ? and i don`t think he will be writing this one off soon ..unless the towtruck its on is involved in a accident

you seem to do a lot of bragging about a car that spent more time on the back of a towtruck than on the road ..and still not on the road and hasn`t run a 15 second pass let alone a 10 ..so far its all been talk from you ..not torque ..in the meantime i`ve enjoyed driving the 260rs" stock" as it is for the last 12mths ,coming up for time to to sell in feb @$35k...which makes the stagezilla or moded 2.5 auto and even bigger money pit as far i can see ...and "built by autech..japan " has a better ring to it than "built by sidchrome..backyard"

and in the end its still an rs four or 260rs "replica" that cost twice as much and will never be worth anything like the real thing end of story ...but everyone make there own choices

just my 0.2 worth...no modded stagea is the same as a 260RS ..a lot more was done to this car than bolt on bits: ie ..body stress plates in c pillar ...,undercar chassis brace,tunnel brace all unique to this car.. all this is something "stagezilla" will find out why once his 2.7 is dropped into std shell.... bodykit is "functional" autech R& D for cooler flow high speed downforce..not the prettiest but it works..brakes have been perfectly matched to power and weight having owned the 260 for 18mths now 12 mths on the road and have driven the 2.5 auto there is no comparison really ..you just wouldn`t bother modifying anything when autech have done such a excellent job allready..they are different cars altogether..and to think you or anyone could build the same or equal in your backyard or mates workshop is at best .."dreaming".. just save up the peso`s and buy the REAL thing .... then modify that

its to do with carsales data base ...try put anything past 2001 on it and u have problems ..i had them to change database so i could list 2001 r34 ..only went to 2000 at the time and they nothing about the V35`s as yet.. no ones trying to be deceptive

yeh they all just horrible.......can`t wait to get 1 time to move on to the 21st century... it 5 years old this month
