  1. Sorry to any P-platers I may have offended - I didn't mean it to be a P-plater or different forum bashing thread - just a stupid driving thread. I personally believe that we should have the choice to drive any car eg. turbo V8 etc, when on P-plates as you can get into trouble in any car....even Hyundais!!! Sorry to any Hyundai drivers The suburbs are no place to test your "drift style" or any other so called style. This wasn't a person spinning the wheels accidentally on greasy wet roads, instead it was deliberate spinning and sliding. I don't want to go on about it so I'll just say think about what you are doing and where you are doing it. You may not want to imagine the consequences......
  2. [Rant button on] If you're the driver of a dark blue R33 with no spoiler, have P-plates and turned left off George Street in Thebarton then drove along South Road before turning left onto Henley Beach Road towards the city at about 4:20pm this arvo....then you are a bloody moron!!! Your display of "drifting" or fishtailing from side to side on a wet road and revving the crap out of your car IN bumper to bumper traffic and IN full daylight was an act of stupidity! As if Skyline owners or import drivers in general aren't paranoid about the police and have a bad reputation with the general public as it is but then you have to go and drive like a wanker in the suburbs. I was right behind you in a government plated vehicle and for all you know it could have been an unmarked cop car (lucky for you it isn't). For all you know there might have been a marked cop car in the banked up traffic as you turned onto Henley Beach Road. You can kiss you licence goodbye if you continue driving like that. I hope you don't take your mates for a ride in you car when you drive like that. The recent horror accident in NSW involving a Skyline should serve as a reminder as to what can happen. SA Skyline owners don't need to cop the flak or criticism from the media or general public like what happened in NSW. [/Rant button off!] Seriously everyone, take care of yourselves and others when on the road. Enjoy your cars but don't do anything stupid - especially in the suburbs. There's plenty of opportunity to test our cars and driving skills at drag, drift and track days. (Admins - feel free to edit this post if you think I have identified an individual too much or you need to change some of the language)
  3. Might be my paranoia but it sounds a bit coincidental to put a speed camera on that road on the day of the dyno day. Lucky for me I rocked up to Jazmac on the Saturday before coz I got my dates completely wrong - busy at work is my excuse! I then forgot all about going on the right day!!
  4. I'll be in! Fingers crossed it's a coolish day - all other dyno days I've been to its been hot!
  5. Someone should should stake out the front of Regency and survey the people taking their cars in to find out the circumstances about the defect eg. who defected it, where it was defected, what was the driver doing to get pulled over in the first place, what is the defect etc etc. This way an overall picture could be drawn as to what is happening. No doubt there would be cars that should have been defected but I'm sure there are ones that probably shouldn't have eg Cheeky's. If the survey was done off the Regency premises then I can't see there would be a problem. Maybe handing people some sort of flyer, with a list of questions and a return email address or PO Box on it could be given to people as they come out. This info could be used in conjuction with the stuff Steve is collecting in the other Regency thread. The suggestion might be pie in the sky stuff but it would be interesting to do.....unfortunately I don't have the time to do it but someone might.
  6. It'd be nice if they put a cancelled sign on the big sign that faces Main North road. Just got home after driving out to AIR from Edwardstown way - bugga! Hopefully they will reschedule. That's what I get for not listening to local radio!!
  7. I asked this question a week or so ago.... Here's the link - http://www.adelaideraceway.net/
  8. I tell you it's interesting being a fly on the wall in this thread! - between last nights hour of madness (of which I don't think should be further broadcast) & now the swahilli lessons there is also some discussion about drags and also Skylines!! hehehe
  9. Yeah I've got a 32. The tail light lens assembly is fitted by some sort of sealant and in mine there was a leak that allowed water to slowly get through.
  10. You're damn right about that boost cut RaseR! First time it happened to me it scared the c**p out of me.
  11. I had a similar problem with water in the right rear quarter panel. I traced it back to a leaky tail light - they also half filled with water! I used a towel to wick away the moisture in the lights and then used some silicon sealent to seal the inside of the taillight unit. I also wicked the water from the quarter panel and since then I haven't had the problem happen again.
  12. I'll take the large blue t-shirt off you. I can pick up in Adelaide too. I am available all day Sunday so please PM me your details. Thanks
  13. whatsisname, Where did you get your helmet from? Also what is the website for the AIR street meets?
  14. No worries Nightcrawler. I think I might go out and be a spectator to see what happens.
  15. Couldn't agree more! I wasn't really worth me going last time with everything stock but now I'd like to have a dabble at the drags - but I don't want to make a complete tool of myself in front of paying spectators!!
