  1. LOL im not saying they want it, im just saying it stands out and people do come up to me and ask about it......My retired doctor friend next door didnt belive me when i told him i got it for 16 grand.....
  2. Um i suggest you stick the with RWD NA R34 they are lighter and faster then the 4wd version, ill only ever get a 4wd skyline if its a GTR. Anyway the years well it does not matter what year R34 skyline you get, i got a 1999 and my mate has a 2000 model, the oldest model is 1998, and i think they only go up to 2001, but i have never seen a 2001 for sale i probaly did but forgot i have seen it because its rare. Now there are two types of r34 Skyline series 1 and series 2, and they are distinguished by the front bumper, seats ( i sometime hacve problems telling this apart), Wheel ( the series 2 has the GTR looking wheels), series 2 has bigger brakes ( my mates tells me its got GTR brakes but im not so sure), the steering wheel is diffrent, the gauges ETC but there only cosmetic differnces that have been changes a little, to be honest i like the series 2 more then series 1, but its harder to find a series 2 so i just went for a series 1 instead, i didnt really give a crap because when i saw my series 1 i had to have it lol. So if you want some cooler cosmetic differences you could get a series 2. Otherwise there is absolutely no differnce in performance, reliability ETC bettween the 1998-2001 r34 skylines, it all comes down to how they were treated by there owners E.G a 1998 r34 could be in better condition then a 2001 which wasnt treated with car, services ETC.
  3. i understand the r33 is the ugly duckling of the skylien but its still better then commodores or falcons, seriously i have never stopped and said wow i would love to own that commodore or falcon, remember there taxi cars lol. i live in a city apartment complex and there are people down in my carpark who own Audi a6's, bmw and mercedes you know what i bet they notice my r34 more then i notice there cars, even though there cars are 5 times expensive i got a skyline an icon of japan, the last of the inline 6 and need i say it, the car that brian bought in fast and furious 2.
  4. my mechanic told me 2 1/4 inch is perfect, any bigger your starting to lose power, own a na r34.
  5. I feel bad telling you this but your not going to find a bayside blue Skyline that isnt a R34 GTR, anyway you said u reckon your price range is r32 well its hard to find NA r32 around you will need to do some searching. If you do come across one make sure its 2.5 litter not those 2.0 that give you something like 99 kilowats. If you can the best option is to go for a R33 NA i think you can find them for 7-10 grand ( but still rare) a r34 NA will be around 10-15 for 4 door sedans and usually 13-18 for 2 doors, but the r34 are common in NA, i got one and it wasnt hard to pick up.
  6. My R34 blows white smoke and its because im missing a certain part in my Catconverter , at least i know its something i did thats causing that to occur and its not harming my car only the enviroment and anybody who want to hang around the back of it while its on. I suggest you leave that supra where it is at the dealer, my mates a mechanic so i had him check out my car before buying. Strongly suggest you do the same.
  7. I see, i guess i would need to play with the transmission a bit if i want to keep up with the Evo's on the track ( highly doubt it though). Its just something my unlce and his friend have phsyced me up for, one owns a Series 4 RX7 i think it is, and my uncle a 350 hp falcon, some other guys i know that will be going have 180sx and Cortina's. So yeah if i can get my car performing well in about 6 months it should be a fun day, its 1999 2 door, its a stocker though, which is cool i can mod it to my tastes.
  8. Sorry if the pic is crap quality and dark, but i took it with my mobile and down in the carpark its not very bright. Though my Na is stocker there is not one little mod on this i can think of.
  9. Im a noob i know, but i was wondering if anybody knows how much thrashing this gearbox can take whilst in triptronic. Im a weary of using it to much because i dont want to break anything, since transmission repairs are just nasty,, and im always paranoid something will happen to it, everybody is always warning me its not a manual so dont treat it like one, are they right or can a NA trip take the pressure of Red line gear shifting, i want to track it in 6 months you see.
  10. When i was hunting for cars, one of the young sale guys down at parra tried to convince me its ok to take the turbo out, put in a na manifold and seal of the pipes, but i knew its going to run like crap considering its low compression ratio. The reason why the NA skylines got good amount of power because of its high compression, for the price of a GTT you could find a NA skyline please dont do it my NA R34 likes to shake when like the engines going to come off if i do little things the ECU does not reconise ill like to see how it will act up when it realises its turbo took a walk, i know a girl who put a EVO and thought she could take the turbo out and everything would be ok lol, such a waste on such a beast of a car. If you dont want to buy a NA the most logical solution then just drive the turbo around and hope a cop does not stop you. Why change a car that was engineered to run with the turbo into some shit box, you revs will take forever to climb.
