R33 Gtst S1 Missfire Plz Help
KnightRiderR33 replied to KnightRiderR33's topic in General Maintenance
Come to mention it ive hooked up my boost gauge and found that im cutting out at 15psi which ive been told is high all that i have on the car that i know of is an intercooler and a full 3" exhaust. Ive been told to adjust the acctuator to lower the boost and i was just outside having a look and found that the standard acctuator does not seem adjustable.. hmm how can i lower the boost i have no boost controller and is 15 psi normal? i thought 10psi was normal. -

OK so im looking at ebay and there are a set of 6 S2 coils from a 97 skyline will they fit? im only looking because the coils would be 13 years old better then 16 lol and its up for bidding should i try i realy dont have the 350 - 400 bucks atm for new yellow jackets -
Hey guys ive been having this problem for a lil while now but im getting close to fixing it. Ive first replaced my plugs which were PFR5G-11 with a 1.0 gap and i still got splutering so i changed the gap to 0.8.. still the same. i cheked the coils i found no cut or anything that could lead to arching but i taped it up anyway just to be sure and still i got no change.. Today on the otherhand i learned that i should be running BCPR7ES plugs they are better. Apparently the platnium plgs do not like BOOST so upon changeing to these plugs i noticed it doesnt splutter as much im still missing coming onto boost but its not as bad as b4. The BCPR7ES plugs come with a 0.75 gap out of the box if i were to regap to 0.70 would this fix the miss? what do you guys think?

Bad Smell In The Heating System
KnightRiderR33 replied to KnightRiderR33's topic in General Maintenance
nah heater core is definently not leaking the smell only comes on as soon as you turn the switch on ive checked around and i have no leake inside or outside the cabin.. as for the spray Inlet & Filter ive never heard of that kind. the one i use works by feeding a long plactic tube down the center vents which lead to the heater core id guess u spray for 10 secs then turn the aircon on for 10mins and u can see allthe green gungy crap come out from the aircon dripper thing underneath. then u get in car and smells fresh lol -
Hey guys im sourcing out a drivers side power windows switch in my ECR33 anyone got 1 spare to sell?? Im in Sydney NSW if area is close i can pick up or we can arrange postage

Hey guys i reconected the heating system on my R33 GTST because for some reason the owner b4 me had bypasseed it by linking the to hosses from the firewall together. Since ive reconected it i get this real stail smell of like old coolent kinda like thge smell of a radiator.. Ive fixed problems like this on my previous car by buying a special detergent that you spray with a nozzle down the centre air vent. i tried to do this but i noticed that the centre vent comes on an angle and makes it impossible to get the nozzle down and spray.. i just wanted to know if u guys have had this problem and have found a fix?? Thanks =D

Boost Gauge Reading Wrong?
KnightRiderR33 replied to KnightRiderR33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
ohh and still no result in linking the boost gauge up. So i guess ill have to search for a boost leak. Whats the best way to find it??. Also another thing ive been told that it could be overfuelling making it sputter on boost ive checked the engine bay and reved her a few times and i did smell a lil bit of fuel.. does anyone know how to fix the issue if it is overfuelling?? Sorry for the bombardment of questions iots just starting to get a lil fustrating -

OK flutter is gone the hosses i used were to small so i bought turbosmart vac hoses and fixed it up also i was at utobarn today and the guy pointed out that the hose from my acctuator is left like a breather he told me to take the heatshield offf the turbo and reconect it to the housing but i cant find the nozzle in the end i simply reconected the carbon canaster does the stock acctuator link up to the turbo housing??? -

mad082 i think ur on to sumthing and yes i did change that hosei went to autobahn just now and had one of the guys take a look and he found that the hose from the actuator had been pulled off and left like a breather ill need to re-attacth the hose from the acctuator to the turbo housing ill get started in about an hour need to let it cool down
-
So does this mean my skyline was a rare build partnered by mitsubishi?
-
I dont know about the wastegate but i know the flutter started right after i changed the hosess

Hey guys i need help with this recently i bought a boost gauge for my r33gtst ive had some issues hooking it up and people mentioned i should changed the vacume hosses so i did as well as the T piece i got hosses that were smaller then the ones already on the car.. Ever since the change ive been getting this flutter noise comeing from the pod filter. 1 reason i decided to change the hosses were that the nozzle for my boost gauge was to small to fit the hosses so i thought id change the T piece and the hosses to smaller items now ive herd rumours that this noise is bad for the turbine. I know people r going to say change the hosses and thats what ill do but i want to know the correct size to use. MY BOV isnt stock well not stock for an r33 its got a mitsubishi emblem on it so im guessing its from an evo. Thanks for all the help guys im new to the turbo scene and quite frankly i wana go the right path even if it means getting rid of that cool noise id rather run safe and smart rather then look like some show off who is about to take out a loan to repair his engine

Boost Gauge Reading Wrong?
KnightRiderR33 replied to KnightRiderR33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
kool ill give that a shot. Also i forgot to mention in my post since changing the vaccume hosses ive noticed like a BOV flutter but its coming from the pod flter is that bad ive heard about people blocking some pipes or hosses to get that sound and apparently it forces air the wrong way to the compressor and spins the turbine the wrong way -
Hey guys i picked up my skyline about a week ago. Now i want to fix the headlight on the drivers side. It seems like its been severly scratched with something like a wire brush or sand papper. Some one told me that you can fix merky headlights by sanding them back lightly i think this is what the previouse owner tried to do but failed. im eagrer to fix it but i dont know how and im not looking to fork out $200 - $400 for another headlight can it be fixed?? Or should i start saving?

Boost Gauge Reading Wrong?
KnightRiderR33 replied to KnightRiderR33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
kool on another note what should the boost be reading on idle?? -7 like the stock gauge? and what size hosses should i run? i may have to replace t piece as the hosses that link up to it from the previouse owner are quite large compared to the little gold fitting i got for my boost gauge
