Quick question on cancer to those that know more than I. ..
why are there so many separate charity's and foundations working on it, instead of pooling all the sources and research together so they aren't double testing dead ends?
alot of charities revolve around cancer, but are not actually for the research of cancer itself, the study to cure cancer isn't the only purpose.
For instance, the McGraph foundation is a breast cancer support foundation, it provides nurses to care for sufferes of breast cancer and their family. For all intents and purposes, their core goal isn't to try and cure it but help people survive it.
many other causes are stuff like:
cancer awareness
support for sufferers
support for their family
treatment care
post care
mental care
living expenses
medical expenses etc.
Of the charities that are in the research category, I do beleive alot of information is shared between the research institutes.. It's also noteworthy to understand that cancer of the breat is different to testicular, prostate, bone etc. and each one reacts very differently to treatements and potential cure research.
They beleive that a cure for testicular cancer is going to be easier than bone cancer as there is less genetic make up in a testie. (I saw this in a doco and it might be the other way around ie; easier for bone than testicular..... someone correct me if i have it mixed around) ????

/sarcasm rant about car doing 40km up the hill in front of us all.

wow, thats big attendance list.
should be good.
FYI, anyone wanting to spend the whole day and into the evening out, the solar storm is still going with another predicted burst late Sunday night... considering they were seen as far north as port earlier in the week,Robertson should be a good spot to see the aurora australis...

To be honest, if something occurred and conversations are to be shut down, it looks like the club execs are hiding something. While I've got no idea what happened, as a club member I'd appreciate communication of the basics.
Did someone die?
Did a car get written off doing helis on the grass?
Did someone break a fingernail?
All these things have happened before in the community. Stonewalling makes it look like something terrible needs to be hidden; ask the Catholic Church how that turns out.
fingernails are serious business. google image search "broken fingernail",
now back to steak talk...mmm.... steaaaakkkk...

oh, and lol.. not sure how many people found out in the day, but it turns out Terry and Trish live 2 doors down from me. It didn't click until we went outside for the ridiculously big spread they put on and i saw their car.
all in all, i think i learnt more from this tech session than any of the others.... thanks to all involved in organizing and putting the day on.
-
in your notes, you forgot to note that gear box removal sucks with single piece exhaust systems. so much so i think terry got a little angry just talking about it.
