  1. Hi Geoff, Loving the sound of these turbos. Just a quick query on what you would recommend for my build. nitto RB32/26 currently running -5's on E85. Making 580hp, full boost under 4.3k or something. Would love to be making 750hp whilst maintaining a similar level of response if possible. More than happy to make the switch to single if need be. Thanks in advance!
  2. hmm well that's no good. Was this the same dyno that you had your previous setup tuned on? Was just thinking because readouts between two different dyno's can't really be compared to eachother, in fact a lot of people say that's still the case even between two runs on the same dyno. How did your car drive after the tune? i could imagine it'd be slightly laggier, but overall did it feel any faster?
  3. Thread revival: Some nice results there. I'm getting my GTR tuned there next month for my new setup. Switching out from N1's to 2860-5's. They said I'll probably only get 400-450HP atw with my setup. But my engines been rebuilt with forged internals, larger Cams and all the supporting fuel mods and PFC DJetro to tune it with. From what I've read in this thread is that this dyno gives fairly modest readings for HP output is that right? I was really hoping to break into the 500hp atw at least!
  4. ummm.... how about larger twins? wouldnt that be a better solution to get the most out of my setup???? rather than going stock everything like you said? Id rather not do that after getting all this stuff done......
  5. lol dude... is that really your car? the GMG R32? http://nissanskyline.6te.net/GTR32_spec.htm Looks like your car's famous. or google imaged
  6. Yeh i was there last night. my GTR was the silver one with enkei wheels. There was a white GTR with SSR's and a lumpy cam though. He was getting ok times. But yeh, Deffinently doing the tune, and im not driving it until i get that done. Today iv Booked it in at Xspeed for next month and they'll adjust the ecu and dial in the cam gears. Im keeping the cams in. Because Planning for the worst case scenario due to the split pipe. I could have Overspun the turbo bearings. In which case ill chuck in some 2860-5's.
  7. Yeh that's what I was thinking. Which would explain the drop of power in the high rev ranges. Hence the low trap speed.
  8. Yeh im booking it in for a dynotune right now, and just ordered a new pipe to replace the split one. Yeh I dunno. I was just excited to have the car back I guess. So I couldn't help driving it. So I'm back to driving the bunky around now.
  9. I'm not after 500hp+ that's why I went with the -7. The 33gtr n1 uses journal bearings which don't spool as fast as the 34 n1's. I swapped the manifolds as it was something I might as well do while the turbos are out anyway. All I want Is a good balance between response and top end at around 400ps. Which is what I would have thought the -7s and the cams wouldv given me. And the tune isn't that bad at all for your information. I just got recommended to get it dynotuned to get the most out of the mods. Not because it's going to blow up in my face if I leave it on idle.
  10. edit: Hmm just had a quick look. And i found quiet a large split in the intake hose that runs into the intercooler from the turbos. Which would make sense cos i found i was losing alot of power in the higher rev ranges. shit... Iv been driving the car pretty hard all week. hope nothing else have fkd up on it.
  11. Ok guys heres the story. A few months ago i had a pretty stock R32 GTR. Only mods where the exhaust, 33GTR N1 Turbos (not the BB type Garrett 2860-7) and a Boost controller. I Took it to the 1/4 mile and ran a best time of 12.997 @ 105mph. Which i was happy with. Seemed right with those mods. But then i decided to put a bit of extra stuff in. So i chucked in 2x Garrett 2860-7 turbos Kelford 272deg cams + head work Tomei cam gears PE 750cc injectors PE Kevlar timing belt Walbro fuel pump Tomei fuel rail Stainless steel manifolds Apexi dual intake kit stainless steele radiator Bee*R launch controller and a power fc. Got it all put in and the tuner did a rough Road tune with the PFC. He did suggest however that i get a dynotune. (but the powerfc i bought was already tuned for those turbos) Now i just got back from the drags and after doing multiple runs, ran a best time of 13.451 @ 102mph. uughh. wtf? Can anyone help me out?
  12. I wanted to build the car with response in mind. And so far im pretty damn happy with the results. Comes on boost way earlier than standard and with the larger cams, its beefed up the midrange. Which i think will help me on the tracks we have here in Perth. Im interested in getting into track events like AHG and motorkhana in the Perth area. So if anyone here readily goes to those events hit me up please, im new to all this and wanted to get into, but have no idea about licences i need and stuff. Thanks.
  13. Hi guys, just a quick introduction. Names' Brian, im from perth. I Own an R32 GTR that i bought in 08. Had the car as a stockie for the past 3 years.. pretty much until last month. yeh, the Modifying bug hit hard. Anyway enough talk. 1994 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR engine: 2 x Garrett 2860 -7 turbos Kelford 272 cams Tomei cam gears Stainless steel manifolds Alloy radiator Apexi dual intake kit PE kevlar timing belt PE 750cc injectors Tomei fuel rail Walbro fuel pump Full 3'' exhaust Trust BOV Greddy oil filter relocator kit. Management: Greddy profec B II Greddy Turbo timer Bee*R rev limiter Apexi power FC Other bits: Coilovers Abflug front splitter Pine tree Air freshener. Have yet to dynotune her. Just has a road tune at the moment. Dunno what power figures im looking at. but im guessing anywhere between 380-420ps sounds right. Also im hanging out to go to the drags this wednesday, so watch this space for Dynograph and 1/4mile timesheet in the next month or so.
