  1. Hey Guys, I forgot 2 let everyone know that National did Sort out my Screen. Came out cleaned up the mess and fitted it, so now all back and running again. Thanx for the input guys and Good luck to anyone who gets stuck in this situation in the future. AsH
  2. Hey Guys, If anyone was inetersted I now have National Windscreens getting me the screen... booked in for friday this week at $650. They went to alot of effort to find one and ensure that no other screens matched and so on. I will let u know if it fits thanks again guys
  3. Wow! Lots of reply's thanks heaps guys! I didnt get any compensation from the 1st guys, the best they place could offer was to put me onto someone who was going to try make a windscreen, but there was no guarantee's and they said it wouldent be as good as a manafactured one and he wanted around $450. A large piece of the problem is actually due to this guys supplier, they imported a bunch of screens from china that were supposed to be 2dr v35 screens but were actually 4dr screens labeled wrong. However then everyone ducked for cover, and the whole situation was just handled poorly, with me being the only one really effected. Anyway! I tried a few compliance workshops yday, tried Kamikaze (Cheers Blitz) They said they are going to try source one but I havent herd back yet. Tried looking at importing one through importmonster.com they were really helpful but also said that cost would be 2 great and turnaround would be too long. they were also waiting to hear from nissan in japan on a genuine price, I thought that would be interesting. Thanks heaps Grae and Andy for the info on the one in sydney, I didnt end up calling them, I managed to find a place that has one interstate but can have it here and fitted in about 1 week for $650 I think I am going to go with that. I will see if I get any calls today from any of the other glass shops or compliance shops and will keep you guys posted anyway, with my luck it will probably be the wrong size or get broken in transit.   4. Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions as to where I could pick up a v35 coupe windscreen. Mine had a large chip in it, so the first glass shop I spoke to said they could replace the screen for $280. After they assured me that it was definantly the right screen and it would fit, they ripped out the old one (smashing it) and found their new one was 1 inch to large. So now after 6 weeks of phone calls and waiting around they have stopped returning calls and I still have a v35 with no screen etc etc. I rang almost every windscreen fitter in VIC yesterday and havent had any luck, I can get genuine from nissan for $1350 but just thought I would enquire on here to see if anyone else had any sugestions. I will try ring some of the compliance workshops today to see if they have any idea's either. Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks All
  5. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone can shine any light on what my problem could be. Car is an r32 GTR, when driving there is a slight grinding sort of noise. Sounds similar to a a rock stuck in the tyre and but only comes up when foot is on accelerator. Dosent have to be much gas just crusing speed you can hear it, the faster I go the faster the noise goes. no matter what speed I am going the moment I take my foot of the accelerator it stops. Any idea's????

  7. Thanks for the replys guys, I may have stuffed it up and got the ratio's wrong. What would people reccomend to do, swith the rear diff crown and pinion or get an another front diff???? AsH

Hey guys, I have done a few searches on this and have found out some info but am confused by some aswell, Through a twisted chain of events my r32 GTR has got a standard 4.11.... diff in the rear, and now as (completely installed) what appears to be a 4.364 diff in the front. NOT GOOD! We are not exactly sure which diff it is in the front but from turning the shaft and counting rotations that what mechanic estimated it to be, around that. What I was wondering is 1. Rather then change the fron diff, should I just leave it, and replace the rear. 1a. is there many compliactions with doing this???? 2. Is it possible to switch the front diff without ripping engine out??? 3. If the mechanic reckons the front diff ratio is around the 4.5 mark is there any other ratio diffs that it could be, regardless I he is gonna get in and have a look on the crown wheel, I'm just trying to see if I can start trying to source a new front or rear If anyone has got an incite into this problem that would be a great help, cheers guys AsH

  11. Hey all, The Oil Temperature gauge in my gtr center cluster is not reading anything. It hasn't been working forever, and I was wondering if someone could tell me where abouts the sensor on the engine is, or if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution. Car had an engine transplant, I am assuming/hoping that it just wasn't plugged in again Thanks for help guys AsH
  12. Hey all, I have an r32 GTR and its got a pretty bad vibration in it. I notice it when i am in 3rd/4th/5th at medium sort of revs sitting on 80 - 90 and above. It appears to get worse as I get faster I havent done any crazy speeds because it feels like the front wheels will fall off. I disconnected the fwd fuse and it went away, so I assumed it was the solid front drive shaft. Had a look at it, looked ok, not as if it had taken a hit or anything like that. I semi ruled it out when I saw that the front two bolts in the rear gearbox mount (The one at the rear under the gearbox, near where the tail shaft inserts) were out about 1cm out, so tried to tighten them and they just kept ripping threw before they got any tighter. Taped new holes and got new high tensile bolts stuck them in nice and tight, but still has the vibration and just as bad, any suggestions. cheers AsH
  13. UPDATE!! I hooked up a catch can all smoke is gone, I however there is no oil going into the can at all. The hose that was going from one rocker cover to the other wasnt standard hose and I think it was kinked, would this cause the oil to be forced through the engine or something along those lines??? Any how its sorted and is running well, Thanks again for everyones help AsH

Little update Lots of oil in the turbo and intercooler pipes, will get a catch tank asap, engine would be about 80 - 90k old, old turbo's were on last engine, this engine is supposed to of had a good set ripped of when the guys car was written off. The pressure went back up again today just took if for a little drive then, about 2500rpm was up to about 6kg, on idle was about 2-2.5ish (that is were it was normally sorry wasn't 4). If there is plenty of oil pressure is it still possible the rings are shitted??? I will watch the oil level in the next couple of days and see what its doing and also get that tank and let you know whats happening. One again thanks heaps for all your help and comments guys. AsH
