With all these good recommendations by the looks of it I've found the right person to build my time attack engine. Cheers for the help guys I will be paying Barry a visit in the coming weeks to discuss my build with him.

Pfft lol Well Atleast the thread did help me because I ended up finding what I wanted, someone to build my 26/30.

No I haven't the comments were said racepace don't like 26/30 they mainly wanna stroke them which 100% not interested in doing at all and wasn't on topic to what I originally posted as the topic. I no what I want built and I will be having a chat to edge about building it soon nothing wrong with that is there? I do agree with some of the point about talking to your builder before buying parts to get his advise on the build. Which I will be doing and I'm not choosing them on just the basis that they use nitto parts but it is a bonus because that what I WANT lol

Yeh I seen a few of there builds on there fb page they look quality. I like that they use all nitto internals and pump. Hopefully there prices are pretty good and I'll will be defs getting them to build my engine.

Just checked out edge motor works and they are local to me which is a bonus. They look the goods and use Nitto parts in there rb30 builds. I will be giving them a call this week and a suss out my options. Cheers for that daz.

Haven't heard of edge I will defs be looking into them now and seeing what they have to offer as I'm 100% on going the rb26/30 option. Was looking into rips complete bottom end package for 13k which looks the goods.

Fair enough there was defiantly some good points made in this thread that will help me in my build.

Well I obversely won't be getting them to build my engine. After all I'm paying the 10-15k to build it so I would wanna be happy with what's going in it. I would be following pretty much what rips racing do parts wise and I'm sure they know what there doing. I've had discussions with them recently as I was going to originally going to get them to build it

Don't you think I would of done all the research myself before buying the parts?

As I said in previous post it's not going in a GTR it's going in a gtst :-/ Yeh fair enough but I won't be rocking up with a mixture of parts only quality nitto internals, nitto oil pump and asr race sump.

Why's that? I'm not gunna go down the path of stroker. It's going in a gtst time attack car anyways.

Just purchased a turbo from Hypergear there new ATR45 sat external gate. Have to send of my manifold to havoc fabrications to get modified for the external gate and screamer. I've decided to get this thing ready and on the track asap then I will concentrate on the 26/30 build. Sending the car off this week to get the sunroof hole fixed then will be sent of to get all the parts installed and tuned by Trent and chequered tuning.

Most likely will be seeing racepace to build my engine. How much did yours roughly cost to build?

Always wanted a 26/30 after seeing JET3LT. Never heard anything sound so good lol.

Basically the engine I was buying/getting built the bloke talked abit if shit about some of the details on the internals nd I clicked on nd seen some evidence of scratches/marks on the Pistons but thought it was just the camera angle nd light but turns out they came from a engine that lost oil nd seized up bad so that explains the marks. Plus seen a ad on eBay from him with for a damaged rb25/30 so that tipped me over the edge to what he was doing. Trying to make his money back he lost on the original engine. No big loss only lost my deposit. Gunna buy the rips complete rb30 forged bottom end now nd then get a rb26 head built by Lewis engines.

Yeh the rips engine might be the way I end up going I think. They have a good reputation of making solid engines which put out decent power figures. Also looking at but a bare rb26 head and sending it off to Lewis engines to get ported and built.

Hey Almost got screwed over buying a engine off the internet but luckily clicked on before money exchange so now I've decided to build my own rb26/30. Was thinking of buying all the parts and then sending off to get prepped and built somewhere in melbourne. Currently have racepace in mind but not sure who else is a reputable rb engine builder in Melbourne so anyone willing to share there experiences with who they got there's built with would really help me make up my mind where to take mine. Wanting to use all nitto Pistons, rods and oil pump ect. I did just also have a look on rips racing webpage and the do a nice forged short block for around $7500 and complete forged bottom end package for 12k which looks very enticing.

Will go get a quote from Racepace to see rough cost but may consider buying a rips forged short block or complete forged bottom end package.

f**k looks like plans have changed again. Got f**ked over with the bloke building my engine so gunna start buying parts for a RB26/30. Will be buying a new rb26 head off justjap and nitto Pistons and rods this weekend. Just have to find a decent RB30 series 2 block.

Yeh I'm still undecided on what I'm gunna do yet so just got it installed anyways. The engine won't be getting installed for awhile. Still have to buy asr race sump, nitto oil pump, Ross balancer, 6boost highmount manifold, plazmaman plenum before I install it.
