  1. COPYME, you seem to have a lot of anger for such a young fella... I am sure I am about to incur some of your wrath for what I am about to write but really... Do I give a toss? By slagging off someone for not owning a car as expensive as yours (who on this forum has any time or respect for someone who judges people on the value of their cars? - I invite answers) you alienate probably the 99% of forum members who cannot afford an R34 GTR V-Spec II NUR. Second, whatever job you do that allows you to afford such expensive cars at such a young age obviously doesn't require a particularly good grasp of the English language based on your posts... If my English was as bad as yours and my temper as volatile I would probably be a... Chill out a little and EARN some respect with something other than a fat wallet.
  2. Do you know this for a fact? And even if the do actually fit, will the airbag still operate? I have heard that the R34 has a separate airbag computer that is not compatible with the R33 even if the wheel physically fits OK. I spent weeks and spoke to several experts (Nissan dealers, importers, performance gurus specialising in imports, and crash repairers) in order to answer this question about a year ago without success. PS. MAXX, I hope you are right. But please ensure you are positive, and not just offering opinion as it may send someone (like myself) on a very expensive wild goose chase. Cheers.
  3. According to RAWS this is a big NO NO. Any non-standard parts that come in on a vehicle must not only be removed, but must also be destroyed. They cannot be put back on the vehicle after compliance. Indeed, they cannot even be sold. They must be destroyed and DoTaRS has been know to conduct random inspections on vehicles arriving on the docks, recording VINs etc and the aftermarket parts included on the vehicles and then asking for photographic evidence of their destruction upon submission of the VIC when applying for a compliance plate. Any RAW caught breaking these rules is liable to lose their accreditation. If you want to risk this as a customer then best of luck if you can find an unscrupulous RAW as you may get a highly modified vehicle cheap but I cannot imagine any RAW being foolish enough to risk this given the huge expense in setting up, and complying with, the RAWS.
  4. Brand new black faced Nismo 300km/h combination metre kit. Box never been opened. Paid over $900 through PerfectRun. Asking $600. Pic via the following link thanks to PerfectRun (hope this link doesn't break any forum rules). http://www.perfectrun.com.au/performance%2...nmetreblack.htm All offers considered however PM me with offers or questions. Please do not post offers on forum. Cheers.
  5. First, I am not a police officer or do not have any affiliation with them. I am a soldier and I guess have a slight affinity with those who serve others without thanks or appreciation. I sound like a scratched record but again, I agree with most of your points. I am just putting a side across that no-one seems to heed, which seems to be totally falling on deaf ears.
  6. I have had a rant of my own and have gotten a little ahead of myself but come on... Have a think about it.
  7. Again, I have conceded this point on both my posts but if people are just going to continue to justify their written attacks instead of actually pondering the logic of what I have said then I have indeed wasted my time. To all you cop bashers out there though I can only say this... I hope you never need a cop as you may have to swallow some of that pride you all seem to have or you may have to have the courage of your convictions and deal with all your problems yourself. Somehow I doubt that will happen...
  8. I agree with most of your post, however have you ever had something stolen, been assaulted or stalked? Police responses are 'lack-lustre' to say the least and follow-ups minimal - if at all .... I could not be more jaded with the way the whole organisation works. Fair point however not relevant to crux of my argument. I am suggesting that regardless of the level of satisfaction of SAPOL service delivery, people consistently whinge about the very people they come running to (police) in situations of personal crisis. Also, limited follow up is not a result of police laziness or apathy, but rather is related to serious levels of understaffing. Also, a major reason some of these so called "minor" offences (minor to all but the victim) have limited follow up is because the police are chasing the serious criminals the like of which forum members consistently suggest the police should do. I am not undermining the argument forwarded by many a jaded forum member who has been a victim of an unfair cop, as I have been a victim myself, but perhaps consider a little more what you are saying and suggesting when doing the "cool" thing and bagging the people who believe it or not, do sometimes put their lives on the line to protect ALL OF YOU. Oh and for the record, I have had my skyline vandalised, stolen and been bashed before (never stalked). Cops couldn't help but I for one would rather they were there...
  9. I am sure I will get flamed for this but... I agree with many points made about overzealous police officers (having been a victim of them myself on several occasions) however the rants regarding police doing "real police work' are ignorant to say the least. Should we have no trafic laws or enforcement? Imagine what would happen. Who do you think chases murderers and drug dealers and blah blah blah? Next time you slag off an entire organisation have a think about what would happen if the police went on strike for a week. And to those slinging the most mud, I wonder what is the first number you call when someone steals your pride and joy, or snoops around your yard in the middle of the night, or robs and assaults you... Just a thought... PS. I am not a police officer.

  11. Shogun Car Company in Brisbane is close to getting R34 plates for both 2 and 4 doors. Should be about 3 months depending on DoTaRS getting their act together.
  12. I'll never look at a posted dyno sheet or timeslip with any faith again... I'll also be more careful when signing documents I receive in the mail now that I have seen what nick can do with just a posted dodgy dyno sheet and a computer... Ignorance WAS bliss... Cheers nicknick!
  13. Gohan. Last person I spoke to (3 months ago) regarding R34 plates said they were going to charge around $4,000 + GST + tyres (the workshop will remain nameless in case they have changed their pricing or I mis-heard). However very recently they told me that most of their 100 plates have already been spoken for even before they have their R34s on line so this price could rise if the plates become scarce. I am at the final stage of RAWS certification (FORS / DoTaRS audit) with V8 Soarers as my test car and I am still unsure what to charge in order to remain competitve, but also cover the huge cost of maintaining ISO certification as there are no avenues to take the short cuts (not that I would) which allowed many dodgy operators to charge $2,500 under the old scheme (the very people and practices which gave DoTaRS a 'legitimate' reason to introduce the draconian measures called 'SEVS' and 'RAWS'). As a result, compliance under RAWS will always be more expensive than it was under the old scheme. I have heard of some RAWS charging rediculous prices for compliance at present but once more participant come online the prices should become more reasonable. Hope that helps.
  14. You are right... Arguing on the internet is like competing in the special Olympics. You may win, but you are still retarded... Thanks for the dyno clip.
  15. Sorry mate. Seriously, awesome time and trap speed! Mighty effort! Just Merli is a riot (or at least his post was). I am still rolling up!!!
  16. Hahaha... Faaarrrken funny!!! Excuse my language but I just fell off my seat!
  17. Hahaha... Geeez... I hope you are not asking what I think you are...
  18. DoughBoy, that is Shogun Car Company in Brisbane. Gekisouzoku, I will check again but while all of the R34 models you mentioned are eligible for importation and compliance, only the specific models on a RAW's schedule can be complied. All the SEVS list is is a list of vehicles which are eligible for importation and compliance once one has passed through the relevant (and exhaustive) RAWS acreditation process. That doesn't mean that one must be specifically acredited for EVERY single model in order to comply different models, but when there are significant differences (ie. RB25DET NEO versus RB26DETT) between models one must supply extra evidence that that model complies with the relevant ADRs. For example, if you have passed all the requirements and have R34 GTTs on your schedule, can you prove that the R34 GTR you are about to comply meets the relevant emmissions standards for the RB26DETT? To the best of my knowledge you do not have to go through the entire test vehicle process again to get GTRs if you already have GTTs on your schedule, but you do have to supply written evidence to DoTaRS that the emmissions system on your particular R34 GTR test car complies with ADRs (as well as other differences). However if you have R34 GTRs (normal) on your schedule, you can comply V-Spec GTRs as the differences are relatively minimal. Like I said, I will check again before you can quote me for sure (and anyone else with specific knowledge on this topic is welcome to correct me), but that is how I have approached my RAWS application. I realise I have just repeated myself a little however the RAWS system is very ambiguous and complicated (often the DoTaRS and FORS inspectors argue amongst each other regarding rules etc so pitty the poor buggers - like me - who have to interpret the Guide to Registered Automotive Workshops) and this is an important issue which needs to be understood in order to avoid people innocently and inadvertantly importing vehicles which then cannot be complied, and must then be re-exported or destroyed if the exact process has not been followed, with the obvious huge financial loss which would result. I have rambled but hopefully this has cleared things up a little. Cheers.
  19. Hi SS8_Gohan The R34 definitely changed from viscous to helical LSD with the series 2.
  20. Hi all. Since we are making corrections on this thread I figure it is my duty to correct a bigun from gekisouzoku. I am at the final stage of gaining RAWS certification (FORS audit - Soarer) and I am good mates with the proprietor of Shogun (who should be the first RAW in Oz with R34 plates). He has informed me that the R34 GTR and V-Spec can be complied without needing seperate certification. However any R34 GTR must be certified seperately than the GTT as the engine evidence is totally different (RB25DET NEO versus RB26DETT). In other words if your test car was an R34 GTT you can only comply R34 GTTs but if your test car was an R34 GTR (either kind) you can comply both normal and V-Spec models. Also, apparently there are problems at the moment with R34 GTRs passing emmissions testing under the new system as the written evidence of the previous low volume system is no longer valid. I am told it could take some time and some (legal) trickery to get them to pass. Anyone is welcome to correct me if I am wrong. Have a good one.
