  1. Ha If it works and its legal and looks good, I see no reason to complain. I wish I had a set up like that
  2. Awesome Thanks man. plenty of good info there. haha although its tempted me to give it a try
  3. Ive been under the dash of my 1995 R33 GTS4 and found a yellow wire? is this it? its out to the right hand side? could anyone post up a pic of the wire? just so i can get an idea of where it is? not planning on running it full time just a little bit of fun on the very rare occasions im allowed on the local police college's skid pan
  4. Haha so many views and yet no ideas? just looking for 25DET with or without Sump to run in my 4wd GTS4. any kind of help is good happy to turn it into a working one
  5. Problem Solved! I didn't so much check the lights as take out my AC control unit in the centre console and then unplugged it blew and rubbed some dirt off and tried to "clean" the ports etc. Stuck them back in and now it works. So not to sure exactly what happened but I fixed it It was my step before Hit it and see if it works
  6. Yer my bad again!!!!!! but anyone know why mine seems to be a little more sluggish than the rest? would it be engine age or weight or something?
  7. I myself have also realised im slightly more retarded when whilst looking for this "constant" I had always been looking for "constant" or "switched active" instead of looking for the wire that relates to the battery. But still props to you for helping me realise I need to learn to read instead of jumping into things and also helping me solve my issue. just need to test for the cars wire now because I do believe I Know the wire from the headunit. If I was to test the end of just the car wires, with nothing attached and the key out will it still read the same as though it was attached to a headunit wire? If im making sense? not much of an electrician but I enjoy learning =]
  8. Yer havent soldered yet, But im thinking that whilst doing that its probably a solid idea (no pun intended) Thanks for your help though man I'll test it out in the weekend and try find the right one then solder them all up. Quick question with soldering though. Do i still need to re cover the solder with electrical tape? just wondering if the solder touched solder is it going to transfer signals and short?
  9. What is the driver's air bleed trick? you dont have to tell me how to do it i love 4wd ive no intention of getting rid of it, just want to understand what it does
  10. Ha so bad idea
  11. Yer ive looked into it briefly and I would love to im just afraid my knowledge would be lacking and I havent got the money now sort of thing. Space is definitely something I could get though
  12. Any Idea on an R33 GTS4?
  13. By the power of Grey Skull thats smart thinking
  14. Ha yer I do like the 4wd and as much as my dream car is a series 2 coupe just not practical for now One definitely good thing learnt from this is there are certain motors for 4wd, I would of otherwise probably bought the wrong type So essentially another option is the top half of stagea motor plus intercooler etc? Does the extra 100cc in the 26 make any sort of difference or is it an engine for different purposes?
  15. Ah ok simple instructions are good =] Just on a chance that it would broaden my search items, will it have to be RB25 or could it be RB26 30 or 20? do stagea motors come in all these ranges?
  16. Ahhh ok yea I get you now so keep my sump where it is and just bolt the newer turbo top half on? I feel like I should really start checking out more indepth engine instructions to wrap my head around this
  17. Ahh ok thats sweet. Im not planning on making this a track demon but will my sump handle it all do you think? Ive never really had to caluclate pressure and stress on solid metal pieces
  18. I can see hatred spewing from this but essentially I wanted to know what would happen if I was to take my 4WD/LSD fuse out of my car. only in a hypothetical term. Like without certain fuses would the car still run? for instance this being my 4wd fuse would it stop all wheels turning? or make it FWD or RWD? is it dangerously unsafe for fuses to be missing or blown? and Is it a good idea to check the fuses every so often? Cheers
  19. Hmmm cause I have the remote Wire set straight to my amps with first wire from head unit to first amp then from first amp to second amp ( so you get the gist of it) but it still doesnt seem to work. I may be making it more difficult but essentially the only wires from the head unit that I didnt wire was essentially an orange and a brown (telephone muting and illumintaion i believe) my old head unit kept everything fine though so i doubt im missing something in my car. Asked the manufacturer pretty much the same question but more specific and all they did was send me a wiring diagram and tell me to get it installed professionally (possibly wise words but I would like to do it myself) But you reckon black with white stripe from car end?
  20. Ha so around very much the same as where Im at at the moment Ive seen a couple kits for pretty much what I would need to swap my engine into a 25DET but for reasons I cannot explain I'm feeling sceptical about them. Admittedly once again they were auctions so the cheap start price may have put me off though, will have to start talking to garages and what not and places like SCA about what they think parts availability would be like or if they know of any special places to source an engine or parts. Is there a turbo engine for 4wd that isn't a NEO? im new to the whole NEO thing in general and will have to read up as to how they differ but (and please dont hate me for this) I just dont like the look of them
  21. Sorry what? still sort of getting my head around most of the site
  22. Ha i have a feeling Im going to be swayed this way and that constantly by everyones view of it. I like the idea of doign some of the work myself, (essentially my dream) but I dont have a lot of know how? did you fluke your way through it or check up manuals etc? And I think seeing im swayed so easily it might be safest to save some money up before making any decision cause it would be rather big. Luckily over here in NZ though even on L plates (equivelant of P plates I think) there is now power limit. But im fully licenced so it wouldnt matter =] Cheers for the input though good to see that it can be done the orignial way I was thinking of doing it
  23. I do like that saying, may have to start using it. But I think the decision Im going to have to go with for speed is simply a new car with a stock turbo engine =] so a bit of saving to go then bam new slowly increasing project car =]
  24. Ha i got the views but no answer? Am I wording it right or do people not know if that wire exists, my headunit just wont keep settings and ive got a big enough battery so its not losing power and then losing the settings, so im sure its a wire i just havent got
