  1. Lets face it,they sound shit! But its the future.Old turbo 80s cars had no rev limit or boost plus had screamer pipes. Now its all used to make electricity, which acts as a huge muffler.Really its amazing how quiet they are for an engine with an exhaust straight out of the turbo.Ive always said that the two cars that actually go through your body is F1 and topfuel, but sad to say F1 no more???Whats the answer?I dont know.Im an electrician and im very impressed with the electric power they have but, mmmmmmm, think the live atmosphere is gone. And its only gunna get worse as they develop electric power more.I suppose on TV it wont be as bad as the racing itself will be good, but im sure crowds will be down in the future as most people that arent hardcore F1 fans only go to hear that beautiful sound of a V8 at 18000rpm with open exhaust,or dare i say the V10s at 20000rpm.BMW actually revved their V10 to 21000rpm on the dyno but the limit to race was 20000rpm then.Whats the answer guys???Times change...............

  2. Hi Guys, need some advice off you guys that are makin big power. After installing big pumps, surge tank, etc, what do you do with the old breather that is meant to go back to the charcoal canister.Should i run a bigger one,get rid of the canister and just let it breathe to atmosphere.Im used to doing up older cars and they all vent to atmosphere with no restriction.Any comments would be appreciated.

  3. I know they are quiet and very different, but this is the future guys.Just look how well the electric cars went at Pykes Peak last year and also the fastest electric drag bike isnt far off Top Fuel bike times.Anyone used a latest technology electric remote control car lately, yes they can beat the little petrol ones now.Wont be long until one can beat a petrol powered F1 car.Sorry guys its just the way it is.Electricity has huge amounts of potential power,we are just learning how to store at properly.

  4. The one hassle with the "turbo as muffler" idea, true as it is, is that in order to get the most power out of the turbo you tend to want the biggest diameter pipework after it, which then works against silencing the noise.

Correct, thats why you want the biggest and longest ones you can fit

  5. Two of the same muffler doesn't ever really work well as different designs cancel out certain frequencies so two of the same won't be much quieter at all.

I have an aero chamber and a straight through resonator and it is below legal volume.

Not quite right there mate,it comes down to the distance from the exhaust port to the muffler. For example if you only run say a rear resinator then at certain revs you will get that annoying drone sound as you are missing some frequencies with only having the rear one. Then go mount the same resinator/muffler in the middle of the system as well then this will help cancel out frequencies the rear one is missing.I know this is slightly of topic but with V8s N/A they quite often run small front resinators,a middle muffler and twin rear resinators, this will be about as good as it gets. The bonus with a turbo car is the turbo actually works as a noise suppressor, therefore less mufflers are normally needed to gain the same decibal reading.Of course screamer pipes change everything, lol

  6. 600+ KWs,fuel systems alone takes 32amps,ive already blown 2 secondhand alternators and the brand new one im using is getting very hot!As im an electrician i understand all your electricals should be at least 150% overkill for reliability.Checked out the RH9 mentioned above, sounds the goods, but $1000 once you ship from UK,found a website in Japan that can get one to me for $610,this will be my christmas present. Thanks for the help guys
