  1. Hi guys thanks for your reply's. I still had no response, so instead of delaying the inevitable I bit the bullet. I went and got some HSD for the front and all installed and I am very happy with these they feel much better than the D2's ever were. Pretty poor outcome guess it was to be expected. Cheers Anyone want a pair of front D2 coilovers ...... free !! ahahahha nah only good for scrap metal !
  2. Hey Guys, I just wanted to make you all aware for those that are considering putting D2 Coil-overs on your car or for those that have. I have these on my car and they were purchased back in October last year so they are just on 6 months old. Have any of you had any issues with this particular brand?? I have been looking over the net and have seen threads which are not good. One of my fronts has failed - leaking oil from the top collar. It is everywhere in my inside wheel arch. I am trying to go through the motions of a warranty claim now but have not heard anything back at this point - who would of thought it would take so long to make decision that the unit is F^&**# and needs to be replaced??? Its been about a week and still had no response. That is if they will even provide me with a response previous threads I have been reading on similar situations is that they don't even respond. We'll see I will give it another few days. My thoughts are this is very poor outcome for a car that travels only 20km a day to and from work, and with minimal driving on the weekends and to then have this fail. It is not even being driving on bad quality roads like Parramatta Road !! maybe then I could understand it failing a little more. This leads me to believe these are some poorly manufactured coil-overs with bad quality components but are top dollar price. So I guess it will be me who has to fit the bill to replace the fronts as the car is handling like shit, I wonder how long the rears will last?? I just wanted to share my experience with you all as I am tired of these bad quality companies getting away with our hard earned dollars. Is anything made with quality in mind these days?? or is all cheap and nasty. Ahu2in
  3. Hi all, Ok I got a bit of a tough one for you guys. I have a Skyline 370gt 2008 model. My last track day I went out and I fried the rear rotors and pads so bad I ran them down to the pads. So looking at replacing and doing an upgrade. My model 370gt only has the Single pot front caliper with 330 x 32 mm Rotors. and Rear 330 x 16mm Rotors. I have been doing some research as to Brake kits and Upgrades out there and I am aware the Sports Model 370gt comes with a Akebono Calipers which increases the rotors 14' / 350mm Brake kit which pretty much bolt straight up. Increasing the Rotors out to 350mm. Which would be a nice upgrade. I can get the Akebono kit from the states not trouble but weary on freight costs because of the items weighing so much I have however found a Wrecked 370Z which has the Akebono Calipers on it but only has 320mm rotors so rotors will be no good but I need to confirm if I put those calipers on my car will the rotor size then increasesout to accomodate a 350mm rotor? or will I need a Mounting bracket to fit the 370z calipers? my plan was then to go and source my own 350mm rotors to fit the G37 which I think if I have read correctly the 370z rotors fit straight up with the Akebono Calipers. I am trying to get the best outcome with out spending huge $$. Hope this make sense guys your input would be much appreciated.
  4. Hi All, I Just wanted to say a big thank you for a awesome day. It was great to meet some of you. and thanks again John for taking me for that begining run to get to know the track. I had a blast !! Getting to know the car and the track. Unfortunatly my brother in law was not so lucky (RX8) we had to tow the car back to Sydney. I look forward to the next event where we can do it all again and I will be sure to make sure he returns as well. I was also interested in getting some photo's unfortunatly I did not think about it on the day and did not run into the guy in the fluro. Can someone point me in the right direction of possibly acquiring a copy of them on a CD perhaps? I am would be more than happy to pay for them. thanks alot Scott (V36)
  5. Hi All, I have just completed making some Air Filter Shrouds for my Takeda Dual Pod Filters. I was hoping to get some feedback from you all about what you thought of them so I will post some Pictures below. As I understand the "Law" as long as the Pods are enclosed in the Engine Bay they are ok. I may very well be wrong on this would someone mind clearing this up? Reason why I did this was 1/ Potentially Avoiding Defects from Police if and when I get pulled over. Had alot of trouble with previous cars receiving and then clearing defects. First thing cops do is ask for me to pop the hood. As I am doing other modifications on the car .... Lowering and Exhaist later I want the car to have minimal things defectable. 2/ Cosmetics I think it does look alot cleaner under the hood. I did have a concern that the Motor might not be getting enough air but I have been driving and monitoring it and it seems fine. I still have the standard air flow pipes from in behind the front grill feeding right to the front of the pods so I think I am cool there. Anyway enough rambling the side still need a little cleaning up but near enough complete. Your feedback is much appreciated.
  6. Hi Guys, I have a Question around the Rear Bumpers of both these cars are they the same? Can anyone tell me if they are the same between a Skyline 370GT V36 and a Infiniti G37 Rear Bumper they look the same to me but just wanted to verify as I have had someone reverse into my car while I was parked and I would like to replace my Bumper now as it has a huge ding in it F*&*** Spewing let me tell you. Taking into account I get the same year model and everything can I get a Infiniti Bumper from the US. Your Feedback would be much appreciated before I lay out $500 to buy and get it Freighted here. I am looking at this one on ebay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/140611848335?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Scott
  7. Hi Guys, New to this Forum and low and be hold I come to you Skyline Guru's for some help if you would not mind. I have just bought a set of POD Filters for the car and have Installed them Myself. The Pod Filters came with Instructions and I followed them Exactly. One of the Beginning Instructions was to remove the Battery Cables so I did. I have since Completed Installation and Everything was fine Car Started and is running perfectly. I now have any issue with when I turn the car off and open the door, passenger as well the window comes down 3/4 the way down. I have to turn the car back on to get the window back up but as soon as I try and get after turning the car off it repeats. I would really appreciate your help if you can. I have spoken with Nissan and they have told me that I have to reset the Computer does anyone know how to do this as the Earliest they can fit me in is Tuesday next week which is not the best as I need to drive the Car and they want to charge me $130. Thanks Scott
