  1. yea your fine. Only people obtaining their p's for the first time on or after July 1st.
  2. for the stat freaks...
  3. july 1, yep. Aren't you on your opens yet?
  4. this years "christmas road toll" was 62 deaths. I cant remember how long it goes for but its a bit over a month or something i think, dont know. Each year around 1400ish people are killed. So what happend during the christmas period....hmm we did the average...little less...how, amazing.
  5. there are no exceptions in QLD, not even if your boss has a v8 ute as the delivery vehicle, you cannot dive it. Its all on the QLD RTA website. As far as vehicle restrictions go there aren't many exceptions, if any.
  6. figures are taken by the numbers of deaths determined to be by that cause, then estimated what would happen if some of those problems were fixed, on average how many people would be saved. For eg. 200 people killed from 04-06 because of bad roads, if some of those roads were fixed only 100 people may die, hence 100 are saved. Note those estimated are from 2007 to 2010 (expected amount of lives saved if the measures were attempted to be fixed.) Funny how no one on the news or the police seem to be focusing on fixing roads or improving car safety though??
  7. are you sure that this is correct for the QLD restrictions in place for introduction July 1 2007? I don't think thats right.
  8. well heres an interesting couple of facts - women aged 40-59 have more road accidents ending in fatality then any other age group of women, including p platers. - The National Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) says that the most important thing to do in order to start curving the death toll is to improve the roads (showing it would save 700 lives), followed by improving the safety of cars (332 lives), then improving driver behaviour (175 lives) and finally adopting safer technology already avaliable into a wider range of cars available for sale (158 lives).
  9. uni rocks, your jealous, i can tell.
  10. lol NSW couldn't handle QLD having possibly the toughest P plate restrictions as of July...I think QLD will follow suit, eventually. It'll take them time though. Look how long its taken to get them this far and we'll be working through a "phase in" period for a while too, seen as the new laws only affect people obtaining licenses after July 1. Agree with a lot of things they're doing, but I think they need to look at the wider picture and take some notice of the statistics that "they" are taking. There are only about 10-20 deaths difference per year between the age group of 17-25 and 26-39 out of 350 deaths. So whats the problem?? Its not all about being a p plater and high performance cars! Its all propaganda really. They only show what they want to show on the news to get through the laws they want. Its easier to blame p platers for the road fatalities, because I don't see a 30 year old being very happy about adhering to restrictions of driving. I've seen plenty of 30yo's doing the same crap, if not worse than 19yo's. Not to mention the governments stats back me up. The funniest of everthing is the "christmas road toll" count. Its the biggest load of crap i've ever seen, anyone who knows anything knows that we basically just have the same average over that period, a little more because of increased driving. The reason we have more people getting caught and the police being so "disgusted" is because there are more police out on the road trying to catch more people to fill more revenue using double points, double fine as the means. IMO more training would be proffered over more fines!! Stop winging and do something about it. But then again what do they do with their budget when they cant foresee an increase in fines for the next year? I guess they'd have to find money elsewhere. /end rant.
  11. vbored....orientation week doesn't do it for me at uni anymore...
  12. do you enjoy watching grass grow? do you get excited when a grass hopper jumps out of the grass every 10-20mins? If you answer yes to both of the above then movie world is for you. Otherwise dreamworld is the go. Seriously though, dreamworld value for money is the winner hands down. I suppose if you dont like rides though, movie world could be ok.
  13. justcar would have to be the biggest rip off in the world. Unless you have no other option i'd be changing. Heaps of people have used famous car insurance in WA with success. Shannons are o k but you must be over 25 before they even look at you, from memory.
  14. people who say movie world are suckers for the shows that are exactly the same everytime you go. Dreamworld ftw hands down. Especially if you get the dual pass for 2 days and go to the water park to cool off (providing its actually hot and not raining)
  15. are you getting paid to do this??? (I hope so) eg. "working"
  16. lilmike, you spend way to much time on google and funnypic!
  17. lol maybe if it resembled something actually deleting system files. Back in the day those joke things were hilarious, such as the ones that did that then shut down your computer or opened the cd drive. Now they are just 0ld 5k00l.
