  1. A thing of pure beauty.
  2. Nearly there. Can't wait for the lag.
  3. A 28 is to a 30 what a 26 is to a 28.... about...... Not rocket science is it. I have driven enough 30s in my time. My LS2 had twist from idle and a found that as boring as shit, unless burnouts of course. Mid range twist is for lazy c%&$ who want to brag about how fat their dyno sheets are so they don't have to change gears...... Suggestion...... Get an auto. You guys are funny. Can't wait for my TO4z setup to be on the road so I can thrash the f#@k out of it.
  4. I am glad its was entertaining, it was meant to be.
  5. No more please!!! ... You are torturing with all this boring shit... Zzzzzzzzz
  6. Win at what? Dyno, drag race, circuit?
  7. So do the after market cranks make a difference
  8. I remember reading an article on a Fred Gibson interview and its interesting that he said that the RBs have an issue passed 8300 rpm. From memory he said due to the long crank, it didn't matter what they did, there was an inherent harmonics issue that would have detrimental effects on the bottom end if the rpm was kept above this point.Don't know if he was using standard cranks or not, but I wonder if the issues still exist today with after market kits?
  9. Together with being able to put a ton more boost into it.No comparison to a stocker.
  10. Depends on what the head needs in the first place to get it up to par. It may not be that much more to get significantly better flow if you have a parts list anyway.
  11. Yeah I know mate. I am just saying in general the contradictions that exist. Someone buys a thrashed out 30 and builds a forged 26/30 and they are legends, but someone else does the same on 26 and they are tight arses..... Makes me laugh.
  12. @ Hadouken: Why not? Oh yeah because its a 26 rather than a thrashed out rb30 that needs a rebuild..
  13. Just saw a full 26 bottom end on eBay for $400 and a long nose crank for $90 wonder what capacity Freddy used, he did alright didn't he?
  14. I have always said that you need to experience as many set ups as you can to make a decision. Not dyno graphs, not opinion, and not anything else. People need to experience it. Its not hard, as I am sure most of the guys on this forum would be glad to take someone who is serious for a drive at a meet, get together or when convenient. Some people prefer low down response, some people like the opposite. Who gives a crap, but the only way to know what someone likes is to experience the setups and not rely on the inaccurate fanboy dribble and bullshit propaganda that keeps getting posted. At the end of the day the difference between a 26 and a 28 is about 500 rpm down low . Is that enough to sway someone to go a stroker? The answer is that it depends on what you like, go for a drive in both. As for the stock 26 vs forged 26 vs 28 dyno graphs, well just look in the section where there are a bunch of 98 and e85 setups you can compare but most of them are consistent with what I already mentioned. As for driving a stock 26 vs a forged 26 tuned to their comfortable limits, there is no comparison as they are worlds apart in performance and driving experience, but don't take anyone's word for it, just go for a drive in both and experience it yourself. Also as for having the rev and dump and keep the rpm high just for daily duties, well this is just wrong. Either people had terrible setups or people are just delusional and want to trash talk just to justify their own choices. Everyone talks as if with a -5 setup that there is nothing until over 4000 rpm which is just rubbish. I drive mine daily and it hardly sees more than 4000 but is on 10 psi or so for most of its time but get it close to 4000 and she comes on song very aggressively even at part throttle. Sure I can't pull as efficiently from 3000 rpm at wot but hey a gear change will fix that and I am happy to deal with it, not that I find it as a negative anyway. But then again based on the passengers I have had in my car and the hand full of people I have let drive my car, they have never said anything about lack of response or lag, but rather how nice it is to drive in normal traffic and how aggressively to comes on when you want it to. And most of these guys have got high powered vls and ford turbos so they are more than qualified to make honest judgements. But each to there own, people just have to find the setup that suits them first hand in the real world.
  15. Your delusion continues, go and reread what you wrote like this'people stay 2.6 for 2 reasons, they are tight asses and don't want to spend an extra $1000 on a rebuild (which means they should never have bought a Gtr in the first place)' Or this 'Basically if you want to spend a load of cash to have something that's drives exactly the same as it did before leave it as a 2.6' Your comments are far from accurate on both account. Who the f**k would build a forged motor and leave standard boost. The whole reason anyone in the world would bother with a built engine is so they can run a heap more boost, what so when you go a stroker you keep your boost the same and don't do any supporting mods etc? Your comments, in context, was quite clear in that to do a forged 26 setup someone is a tight arse and the car will drive the same and the forged setup will offer no performance benefit. You are inaccurate, wrong, stupid and a smart arse.
  16. No they are very relevant because they are incorrect and stupid and not based on fact but rather a delusional opinion. And you may want to correct yourself, joey called me a retard which again is a baseless opinion.
  17. You are stupid or ignorant. Why the hell would you be running the same boost on a forged engine. You have a lighter, stronger and more balanced bottom end capable of running a heap more boost therefore more power and torque. Will it mean it comes on earlier or later, well that depends on the head not the bottom end and a raft of other things depending what your goals are. But the fact you are putting in more boost you probably have upward of 25% more power and torque as soon as boost comes on not including all the reliability benefits, that's everyone forges engines. So yeah your comment was rubbish. And as for the 26 to 28 comparison I have never ever said their is no advantage.... Of course there is because the turbos come on earlier, is it significant enough?, well that's up to what people prefer; but to say the bullshit about forged vs stock is laughable, stupid and incorrect.
  18. On the sheet it states you have used different E content so the dyno is not a fair comparison.
  19. So in his opinion which is based on a crap 26 set up is to build a 28 or higher...... Mmmmm that's logical. Pretty much on par with the prior stupid statements on a forged 26 having no advantage over a stock 26. To the op if you really are uncertain of which way to go then go and meet some guys in you area with built 26 and 28 and make your decision based what you like instead of listening to half the dribble posted here.
  20. Yeah but your 26 set up was rubbish so your only experience with a 26 is the crap set up you had. Based on this you shouldn't even have an opinion on a proper 26 setup. Your bolt ons were crap and your clutch belonged in the tip. No wonder you couldn't drive the thing. Your set up was a half arsed drag setup that was shit for the street... Not even close to a forged 26 with a proper street set up.
  21. This sums it up.
  22. Or just buy a G6E T and be done with it.
  23. Just look at the post you wrote below One of the stupidest things I have ever read as you are implying that any engine that is rebuilt properly to the original capacity with forged internals has no benefit. Of course it is different as I have already mentioned. Yeah and of course its the extra boost, if you can make 10psi more at the same rpm and keeping it there for longer, that's what's its all about isn't it. Just because with a stroker boost comes in 500 rpm early, doesn't mean a forged 26 drives the same as a stock 26. Don't make up crap just to justify your own delusion or to lie just because you have a preference to stroker's characteristics. If you believe your above post then you know nothing and should not be recommending anything to a guy who wants honest advice. Your above post is just stupid.
  24. Well if you are putting 25% more boost into a forged engine it is natural making more power at a given rpm isn't it? Even with everything else being equal. On top of that you tickle the head and so on and its a totally different beast. Doesn't matter how you look at it, its not the same as a standard engine as you are trying to convice the op it is. You guys are either delusional or full of shit.
  25. A forged 26 is far from a stock 26. Don't listen to all this dribble. You can pound a lot more boost into them, and with head work, proper balancing and blue printing and oil control mods you can rev them safely, so yeah you can run big power numbers reliably. You don't need larger capacity to do this, everything just happens a bit higher in the rev range thats all.
