  1. iv just been reading about this HICAS thing.. i still dont fully understand how it works or how to lock it out. would by r34 have HICAS and could it be this causing my problem..? im not trying to push the car when the wheel starts shuttering, it will do it even at 60km
  2. what differences are there between a 1998 r34 25gt and a 1998 r34 25gt-t. are the wiring looms interchangeable.? i know they have different breaks and maybe suspension, but to what degree are they different. iv seen the gearbox and diff is also different. are all these and other parts interchangeable between both cars..?

  4. hey guys.. over the weekend i changed by break fluid. i bleed all 4 breaks and the clutch. the front calipers were removed so i could push back the fluid in the pistons to get it all out. everything was re installed no worries. went to drive to work this morning the steering wheel seemed to have quite a bad shutter in it. you would only have to be going 40-50km's whilst turning and you could feel the shutter. it wont shutter going in a straight line, though said i hit 110 and it just started shuttering like crazy all the way back down to 80..?? it will only shutter going around corners where you have to move the steering wheel a bit. bumps seem to encourage the vibrations to. its almost like it feels like both wheels are fighting one another. if i turn to the right lets say and it starts to shutter it feels like the wheel wants to turn its self left like im fighting it and the more you fight the more shutter you get. its weird. there is quite a bit of force behind it to.. kind of feels like abs shutter when im cornering but im not under breaks or anything.. could the abs do this..? iv had a mechanic go over the car this morning and he can see anything loose or slack anywhere. he said the front end is quite tight actually. he said it could be wheel balance or alignment so iv taken the car to get that done, thought i dont see how this will help. the mechanic was pulling and pushing on things but couldnt find anything wrong. one thing i did do was jack the front of the car from the front cross member under the motor. i know the steering actuator is mounted up there so i might of bent something.. i showed and asked the mechanic and he seems to thing that wouldn't of done anything..? its usually pretty smooth to drive and has never had shutter to it whats so ever. could it be anything to do with the abs.. or could have i stuffed the steering actuator..? it moves quite free still as do the rotors in the caliper. nothing else on the car was touched and no wheels were rotated.. dose anyone have any suggestions..? its a r34 gt manual.. rwd n/a
  5. so i should do it the other way and wack the turbo in my n/a haha i would see the motor swaps as a project as 1 would of been something to work on. and changing the stereo isnt the hard bit its finding the shrouds from other cars thats hard to get
  6. thanks mad082.. i can see why.. and i didnt think it would ever work but my dad keeps saying it would and i keep telling him why it wont so i asked . i also told him it would be much more fuel Hungary due to the less compression in the combustor. as people have said i dont think i will wast my time. though.. if the motor was changed to n/a and it had an engineers cert and vic roads had it changed, legally wouldnt this now be a n/a as the n/a motor is now registered to the car.? the reason im asking is because i wanna get another 34 as my 34 has all the sat nav sh*t and pop up screen in the dash. i want a double din unit in there and the dash to be flat at the top. There is no reason i cant change it i just cant be bothered doing it and cant get a hold of the parts.. so i want to get a 34 that dont have the sat nav option and has the double din and all ..MY RADIO DONT EVEN WORK.. its the worst might just try hang out the 12 months and get the tt....awwww thanks again guys

  9. its a rb25de (n/a) version... obviously rwd and seems to have lsd... can it still run a catch can..? i have taken the top intake plenum off and can see a bit of oil around in there.. its not flooded but it still a bit
  10. Iv been thinking about buying another r34 but get a gt-t model. problem is im on me p's still. is it possible to take the turb off and get a new exhaust header built. Would you have to change the ecu.? if so are the wiring looms the same in gt and gt-t models.? other thought was to buy and drop a n/a motor in the gt-t body and drive that untill im off me p's. then in the mean time i have the gt-t motor to play with. can rebuild it and when im on my opens i can drop it back it. will the wiring harness be the same though.? i imagine this would of been answered before. thanks mat
  11. thanks boostn0199. yeah iv seen the redline oils are pretty good. there pretty expensive but. my car is no race car (though i think it is lol) and dont put out a stack of power or anything.. is it really worth paying the extra again for the redline..?
  12. Hey guys.. With in a span of 4 weeks for some reason i have lost a lot of motor oil in my r34 gt. I bought the car in feb this year. i checked the oil about 4 weeks ago and it was on the F mark. checked it the other day and it was down near the L mark WTF..... the motor has real good compression, it dont blow oil smoke or un-burnt fuel or have any problems that im aware of at this current time haha. Iv done a oxygen sensor in it about 4 weeks ago. the car runs quite well and i get about 550km to a tank of fuel (i dont drive like a granny either). Iv done 8,500km in the car since i got it 2 months ago.. Iv decided to go out and get new lubricants for the car. Iv got NULON 10W-40 (fully synthetic) for the motor + new oil filter (Z145A) got NULON super dot 4 break fluid NULON total fuel system cleaner I want to change the box oil as well as the diff oil while iv got the car on the hoist. just do it all at the same time. Was going to get NULON 75W-85 manual box oil + a smooth shift additive and NULON 80W-90 in the diff. Now my problem is i dont know what the compacity of the gearbox or diff is.? iv spent about 3 hours on this forum looking for answers but cant find answers. could someone give me a hand and let me know how many liters the box and diff take..? My cars a 1998 r34 25gt RWD manual Also it would be good if someone could tell me if the oils im going to put in the car are alright..? Thanks MAT
  13. Is the oxygen sensor out of the sr20de a direct interchangeable fit with my rb25de..? my r34 is a 1998 model, will the sensor fit from any year of the sr20de..?
  14. hey mate. dose the (R34 GTR Climate Control Unit - $150) pack come with the pop up screen as well..? if so dose it work and is there some sort of software mod you can do to it to get english.? whats the benefit of having the option..? My car came with it but the idiot that had it before me pulled it out cause he couldn't read it and broke it????????????????? CheerZ MAT
  15. thanks stat1c- yeah iv already got one of them tools had to do a 02 sensor on me tx3 turbo a few months ago. iv got a high impact version after i cracked the first tool in 4 spots trying to get the old sensor out haha.. all i need to know is whats needed to fit the sensor from an r33 to an r34.. its some sort of fitting or something i think.. thanks
  16. ok so i want to use a 02 sensor from a r33. iv been told i can do it but will need to do a bit of a mod. iv seen somewhere some pictures and a write up on how to do it. i think there was a few fittings to change the threat size or something from memory.. can someone point me in the right direction of where i could find another write up or something..   17. the engine light came back on the other day driving home. i checked it and it came up with code 33 again. I had a go at playing with the wires and all but obviously has not worked. the plug and wires seem to be in good condition. im just going to buy a o2 sensor and wack it in. the oem part is fair expensive for what it is.. i took a look and tried to find where i could get an ntk sensor from. found one on ebay i might get if i cant find a cheaper one.. says it comes from kudos Motorsport.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NTK-Oxygen-Sensor-Nissan-Skyline-R32-R33-RB20-RB25-/220648877833 Thanks again guys MAT
  18. got me confused...?? iv just bought my first r34.. the badge on the back says its a 25gt. dose this mean it dose not have the mechanical upgrades like the 25gtv dose..? if so dose my 25gt have lsd.. I know one way to find out but i just got it lol CheerZ MAT

  20. Hows it going guys, im new to this forum and am still figuring out how to navigate through it.. I am also a new owner of a white 1998 r34 25gt, and am new to the nissan world .. 2 days after i picked the car up my engine light came on.. (FFFFFFFUUUUUU ....KKKKKK).. i looked up how to get the fault codes out of the computer from this forum and im getting fault code 33. Now correct me if im wrong but this had something to do with the 02 sensor either under volting or over volting for a long period of time. Now my drive to work is about a hour and ten minutes, which i drive to and from 5 days a week.. I cleared the fault codes and 2 days later the engine light came back on and is still on, and i am yet to check it but my guess is it will spit out fault code 33 again.. I guess im going to need a new 02 sensor but heres my problem.. I cant find where to get one lol, no one sells them. Can someone give me a bit of guidance of where i can get a 02 sensor and other parts for the r34. Also where would i post on the forum to ask if anyone knows any history on my car.. its always been around victoria.. thanks for reading and help would be appreciated.. CheerZ guys MAT
