  1. the aftermarket headlights seem to have poor visibility at night which is obviously a very important aspect of the car..

i think you'd be better off finding a mint set of 03-05 reflectors but still they don't have very good vision.

Yes, I'd tend to believe that Sean about the cheapies, but I do love my standard lenses, they are superb when the Halogen and Zenon mix at night.

  2. Hi Guys, been a while, hope you're all still rockin' in the free world.

Yep, as per the title, I have this issue.

I polish the outside now with Kitten No.2 polish, they look ok for a while, but it's the inside of the lense that appears to be deteriorating, not badly, but enough to give me the 5hits.

A little fine 'crazing" (spelling?) and the internal chrome parts are not as chromey as I'd like. Hey, it may require a 're-shell', if that's at all possible.

Has anyone here found a service that can take my lights away for repair then re-install. The car doesn't get used, so I don't care about time, just honesty and the price of service.

    Any input greatly appreciated. Cheers.

  3. I can now program the transponder keys for V35 Skylines. The immobilise PIN can (in most cases) be calculated from the BCM serial number which I can do as well.

It requires deprogramming all existing keys and programming them again one by one including the new one. The key needs to be cut and have the little transponder chip inside it's plastic cover.

I'm in Canberra if anyone needs a key programmed.

    Tom

    You all dat?

  4. I had a similar experience over the weekend someone scraped along my driver side door and rear panel with a trolley...no cameras or witnesses so ended up just buffing the marks off can still see it if looked at closely.

To the guys above, my heart bleeds for you, it truly does. We are enthusiasts and we can't stand the attitude of "it's just a car', it simply doesn't wash with us. (Let alone bogan pricks who hit and run).

Guys, a couple of years ago I bought a cheap little Kia Festiva Hatch, ($2k) this is my 'shopping and shit' car.

It costs 600 buh in reg and 300 buh to insure (fark all to run and service)....do you see my point?

Get one, leave the Line at home on those 'chore' and going to the beach days, and enjoy dint free motoring!

    Just a thought.....cheers blokes!

  5. Lol, Tarun!

Anyhow, once the dealer from where I got mine from (I drop by occasionally at their car yard) told me that one of their other V35 is also having the same issue (That is the Sat NAV screen not being able to stay open by itself for long).

Is it just a wear-and-tear thing, or a serious common issue with the V-series? :(

I don't have any issues with my pop-up screen......

    I don't have one.

I got a 7" tilt screen in the center instead!

  6. FTG Nissan are the best. They show such professionalism. Always willing to give it a go. If they don't succeed they won't try to rob you. Other dealers I tried wanted to charge to even attempt it. Another one I tried wouldn't even make an attempt.

My next New Nissan will definitely be from FTG Nissan.

It's kinda funny, but I avoided FTG Nissan for many years in fear of their (in my mind-set) price.

But they have been more than fair with this and other little jobs....Maybe when I do a clutch, or something major, things maybe different.

On a side note, I watched on as a guy was buying a brand new black GTR....geeeesh, noice.

God those things are glorious to look at...from any angle.

    Pretty girls workin there too!...hehehe.

  7. Hey guys...

thought you may be interested in this...

One of my Remote Keys failed just recently (luckily the car came with 2 remkeys and that red key).

I tried everything to get the remote to TX (resolder Battery contacts, Battery changes, trace/clean/touch-up circuit tracks etc...) but all to no avail.

Anyways, off to Ferntree Gully Nissan, and reported on my issue and wants. First thing said...."V35!..naaaaw, geeesh, it's not one of ours" (which is kinda what I expected from the guy behind the counter to say)...luckily another tech overheard and came in....."yep, we can do that!"....cool!

The price of a new key was $440....but I didn't want the entire key assy, just the circuit board, which is $155....cool!

They'll also flash the new key free for me (if there are no other issues, which there won't be).

Sooooo....circuit board is on it's way from Japano, and I'm happyo.

Glad I went to Nissan, very helpful......this is the second time in a month I've been there (never before), prior was my left hand indicators not functioning, fixed for 50 buh (failed 'after-market' Alarm isolating diode attached to BCM)

Will let you know of the outcome....if you'd like.

    Cheers guys.

Hey guys, just an FYI if you're interested in my 'new key'.

Key remote circuit board came in from Japan this morning, picked it up and had it programmed via the Nissan Consult II device.

Took Mick the tech about 5 minutes to determine/verify that my old key was infact stuffed, then placed the new circuit board into the key assembly, 'taught it', and now all good.

So I'm back to having 2 working remote keys again!...very comforting!...

Mick also (at my request) did a fulL systems check via the consult device (4 main areas, Engine, BCM, Airbag and some other Logic functions), and all good!...and all free $$. (just because I bought the key circuit board from them).

Great service FTG Nissan...you faaarkin raaaaawk!

  9. Hi Mark, you are welcome.

I just ask because, from your photos, the front tint matches near-perfect with the rear tint (Not the privacy bit near the glass panel).

I am thinking of having the dark tint without any types of stickers on the wind screens and get my roof black (If you know the look I mean :) ). For that case, I have to have darkest tint (Not sure yet with legal or not legal :P ).

I think I know 'the look' you're after....I've seen some Strawberry Faced Silvia's getting around with the 'blacktop- look'....I really like that look. I reckon the V35 would look good with that too. (if I'm on the right track VT?)

oh...I reckon it's just plain old luck that made my glass look black on that photo occassion!

    Cheers!

  10. Nice JDM look you've done there, Mark.

If you don't mind me asking, is your tint darkest legal?

    Hi VT!

    and thankyou...

I believe the tint is legal (darkest I could safely get).

It's a strange tint though.....on some angles/refraction of light it appears black, at times quite light when compared to that 'privacy glass' stuff.

    Cheers!
