ummmm...I guess that answers that? Could someone let me in on where to get it, tis me, Mark, the Skliner who originally wanted the trike drifter? Thanx everyone?
-
it's actual the end part of sega rally add for the dream cast from japan.
It's a wierd but funny advertisment.
It starts off with a buldozer drifting around a corner with this guy waking along, than i think a girl drifts around another corner, than it shows a bit of the game an than ends off with the little kid drifting on his trike.
I have the hole add @ home on my pc somewhere i'll c if i can find it.
Mate...if u can, that'd be awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

superspit - right click - save picture as?
Hey ferni, won't that just save one frame only of a multi-framed set? (avi, mpeg etc)?????????????
thanx.

Hi Skliner's, just noticed on some of the threads that there are these utterly amazing AVI,MPEG,moving pictures....woteva...being used as Avatars etc.
The kid drifting a trike is great...I can't stop laughing at it!!
Could someone help me out with this. I think it was 'PENTAE' using this graphic..ace
Thanks.

please tell me?[/b]

Hi, and Congrats...You have a beautiful machine...as long as the current BOV is ok (and you can tell by sound and the cars consistent power), leave it alone, change your oil with good synth, tighten up/ check vac hoses, save ur money for a true performance enhancer..ie..anything but a BOV!!!
The issues they bring are just not worth it, in our cases....
ENJOY and stay safe........

hahaha ... umm.. interesting thread.... bro
wanna sell ya GFB bov then ?
Hi, AutoBarn gave me my money back last nite, (Mike from FTG branch), $358.95 including adaptor)). I'm happy. Now I'll get that proper Boost guage and try that GFB Atmo Boost controller. Thanks for your offer.
-
Best place to get a boost reading off it off the nipple at the back of your plenum.
And let me get this straight... You bought and installed a GFB Hybrid and hated it, but you went and bought a GFB Atomic Bleed Valve anyway???
Hi, and yes, but both at the same time....But don't think that I won't return that aswell if it doesn't live up to their wanky, bright funky colours Web Site!!!
Cheers, I'll go off that nipple, bro.!

wanna sell ya GFB bov then ?
UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get a decision from AutoBarn today if they'll give me my money back, if they don't, and you're serious, yes, absolutely!!!!!!!!!
private message me ur details...ifurserious!!! (and they don't play ball!!)
ACES HIGH f**kIN' ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Mine is run from the fuel pressure reg.
There are a few places you could take the reading from. Maybe even where the stock boost gauge reads.
Adam
Thanx......Hey, ur car looks like mine!!! woohooo!
-
definitely true and good advice
Replacing all vacuum lines isn't a bad idea either, as they all deteriote with age and can develop tiny cracks nearly impossible to spot as well.
Doing that as we speak.............cracks found all over the place, replacing the spring clip type hose retainers with proper screw type aswell. Best performance upgrade I've done in a while!!!!!!!!!!
Thanx Mate!
PS. Small actuator pipe that goes to waste gate, before the T-piece, has a bloody restrictor inside of it........see ya! Waste gate small actuator pipe is cracked too!!!!!!!!

Mark, I was commenting on Messiah's post about the stock BOV.
THe choo choo comment applies to all Have a good weekend too.
oooops!! Sorry Bro, my mouth sometimes works faster than my brain!!!
All the best and thanks.

Hi,
Just got me a GFB ATOMIC boost controller, but I'm not game enough to install it until I have a REAL BOOST GUAGE. When I do get this (probably a Speco one), where's the best place to take the reading from, I thought of the standard BOV vac line (for ease of installation). If this is no good, could someone suggest a better posi, giving some detail of the pipes you suggest?
Thankyou, stay safe!!
Mark.

Hi Skline and turbo people.
Seriously folks, you can add power to ur car by just checking those induction pipes, all of them(!), under your hood. I've realised that the smallest leak under boost conditions kills our cars. (I'm still learning more and more). But something this sickiningly simple could be robbing your beautiful Skline of performance!!!! JUST START TIGHTENING...and have a great week.
Stay safe...Mark.

i feel that my stock bov is leaking, can you buy stiffer springs for it? (r32 gts-t) where
Hey Moo, factory BOV is a SEALED CAN, u can't really do too much to it, except swap it (?)....with something else that potentially leaks more!!(and will cost u $250-$500 bux) Stick with the (good condition?) standard.
I got in trouble with neighbours first hour I had it on!! I'm sure that for 'our streetish' type cars, BOV's are a wank....Jap design is brill, bigger turbo, bigger zorst and clean oil is still the best performance increaser / keeper still...don't you think?
Thanx Bro,
Mark.

I've seen ppl running over 1 Bar using stock BOV and it's fine. If yours leak' date=' change the BOV spring so you can hold more boost. Might worth to check that your wastegate is not leaking before accusing the stock BOV as the culprit.
BTW, who needs choo choo sound anyway? Leave it to locomotives....
ummm, my friend....mmmm..good comment on the choo choo, I agree.
But, ummm....did I not base the entire thread on saying that the stock BOV is good? Have a re-read my GT brother, andhavagoodweekend.

I'm expecting one of these to turn up in my mailbox any day now. The first thing I am planning to do is get it welded to a proper adapter so there is absolutely no leaks.
keep an eye on that O ring and 'nipple' , maybe you should 'teflon tape'it?
-
I havnt put mine on yet but the first thing i changed with it was the adapter, and swapped it with a direct bolt-on to fit a skyline..
yep, that's wot I did ,bro........test it in second gear going hard....does your boost feel like it's coming in later and ..i don't know...just different??
GOOD LUCK!!!
-
I used the proper GFB adaptor kit, (Ofcourse you want the best chance of it working),
seemed to mount on nicely to the pipe, then the sus bit, you have to install a pissy little O ring inside the BOV base that really seems slack. Between that O ring and the vac nipple i could just see POTENTIAL for leaks...I just was not confident even before turning the key!! Then that bloody 'flutter" and woosh..My little brother loves it, but if someone took my rego down, I wouldn't be surprised. If i was to PLUM it straight back into the turbo and block off the 'trumpet' part (1 of 3 options in the kit), then what's the point of having it......it still leaks..Now the ridgey didge is back on....***** ACE!!
-
Hehe....I had the same problem when I changed my ignition coils. I forgot to do up the pipe connecting to the plenum chamber and spent hours looking at it trying to figure out what was wrong.....sometimes it's the simplest things
respec! thanks, Mark.

stock BOV leaks
I'm willing to bet that a good condition stock BOV is still better, in this case!!
Just way too many 'joints and screw in parts' on the After Market stuff.
Do you think the whole BOV thing on a relatively standard car may be a bit of a wank??? I mean, they look good 'en all.....but........
-
Hi, and thankyou to those who gave advice on my G-FORCE thread!
Some interseting things came from that!!
Anyways....Installed the GFB BOV last nite (after boost/rev problem was sorted as per previous thread), and I'm about to take the bloody thing BACK OFF! Noise is nice..if ur into that...but power flow is lost...that is...boost comes on slower, but still there. I've checked for leaks: I suspect that the valve itself is so badly built that it has inherent leaking abilities. After my G-FORCE issue thread, I now realise that even the slightest leak in our cars induction system will cause grief...and potentially more dollars to find and fix.
Has anyone else expd this? GOOGBYE to Go Fast Bits BOV......and f**k you!
Thanx.Mark.

superspit
your problem seems very similar to mine....
after i reset my comp, my rev limiter which would kick in after 6500 does not kick in anymore....7000+ and still revs...but as you are experiencing i too have lost the power..
i reckon it is comp related problem or a sensor that has died...
Hey JD......going to TRUFIT exausts in 1 hour.....more than 1 person has suggested that the CAT Convertor has self distructed
(BLOCKING THE EXAUST PIPE!!) causing low RPM and therefore no power.....but car still runs nice when not pushed!!! i FIND OUT FOR SURE SOON!!!!
Thanx man........respect.
ALL SKLINE PPL....HI......and read top original thread........FIXED PROBLEM...this is crazy stuff........something so bloody simple has aged me 10 years!!!!!!
Restrictors in factory pressure piping. WHY WHY WHY?
in General Automotive Discussion
Posted
Hi All,
so i've replaced all my pressure and vac hoses unda da hood, found an interesting device in the pipe that goes from the high pressure nipple of the induction pipe to the waste gate, (the one that is directly attached to the large induction pipe.aprx 50mm length before it 'Tee's' off to boost control).
I found a brass 'restrictor' inside this piece of small pipe, so as part of my complete overhaul of hose, I replaced it with a new, non restricted piece of pipe.
Can anyone tell me why this restrictor is here, (exactly why?).
Power seems more linear, I don't know if I like this, the actual Turbo kick has reduced a little, but still just as quick. Most importantly fellow Skliners, am I doing anything that could be potentially bad 4 da WasteGate/Turbine?
"Talk" soon
Mark.
