  1. Times were 8.03, 7.91 7.89, 7.98, 7.93 all around 176mph Pretty sure R.i.p's hast the worlds fastest RB30 or 26/30 engined car..
  2. You beat me to the question shanef.. even the nitrous wouldn't be that much of a power adder.. more so to get the turbo up to speed on the line?
  3. Would have been nice to find out a bit more on this car, but thanks to the few who f**ked it for everyone else now. Nice work snotass, whats the goal for the car?
  4. keir wisons cars run the ol OS GIKEN RB30.. Its a bit different to the rb30 found in the vl/r31.. Plus they're 20k for a bottom end, makes r.i.p.s prices look like a steal!
  5. This is really great, thanks everyone for sharing infromation, its a good thing to see!
  6. Off topic, hey N1GTR where do you get those little car pics for your sig?
  7. I'm pretty sure you'll find its quality parts (eg ati balancer), balancing everything in the rotational mass and good assembly. There's really no other secret than that...
  8. So buiild a dry sump setup will be fairly expensive though, as you'd know. What pump are you running on your built motor? Jesus, how did you manage that, you did a decent job whatever it was, well done
  9. I'm sure shanef will have a say in this thread Best person to ask about r.i.ps kits is rob himself.
  10. Exatcly.. or build it tough enough to take it. But remember you are doing this to a stock internal rb26dett with about 1/3rd more power than facotry, its days are going to be numbered ever quicker with a rev limitng driving style.. All depends how much power you'e chaising too, preped stock rods, forged pistons, acl bearings, greedy oil pump (either r33 crank or collar the r32 crank) balance every part in the rotating mass, get someone who's good at bolting it all together and you have a 400kw motor no problems. No as dear as some would make out to be and 400kw is nothing to sneeze at..
  11. That was directed at T04GTR btw... Joeleo87, oiling is the biggest problem on the rb series motors, so I'd address that pretty seriously. I think you'll find with the yen vs aud atm that it will be a fraction cheaper going external over a tomei pump. Not sure on the prices of Jun/Greddy or the others, but whatever option you end up going its going to hurt the wallet, unless you chose the N1 + pro engines collar but personaly i'd be staying right away from the n1 pumps. As said by Dirt and RIPS it dosnt matter what motor the oil pump is on if you still rev the tits off it its going to decrease everythings life, balance everything and you'll have less issues, by the best parts you can afford and you'll have less issues and so on.. Have you though about getting a ribs stock internal rb30 bottem end, the value is excellent and pretty cheap considdering how far you can push them.
  12. Why not run an external oil pump bud, problem solved. Not matter what series RB motor I'd feel alot safer running that over the normal style pumps. Back to the 26 v 30, as others have stated I think it all comes down the the purpose intended. In almost all apilcations both can be made to work as well as each other, as there's more than one way to skin a cat. It all depends on your budget, your mechanic and purpose inteded. There is so many other factors that can also influence a decisions, high revs kill/wear motors out quicker, so an rb30 that can make power at 7500 rpm would be better suited than a rb26 that needs to rev to 9000 to make the same amount? But on the other end of scale the extra torque an rb30 can make can kill gear box's, drive shafts and diff's quicker with the extra/earlier torque that can be made. I see alot of poeple arguring that there mates uncles sisters neighbours cousins dog raced an vl with x combination vs a gtr with x combination motor, which really in the end means nothing. The only way I can see a real world test example of which one can make more power, response, torque, drivabilty accuratly is having either two identicle setups with one being a 2.6L bottom end and the other being a 3.0L or dynoing/racing an rb26 and swapping out the bottom end with an rb30 and dynoing/racing changing nothing at all and tuning to the same perameteres. That would be the fairest comparison (some might say the cam secltions would make a bit of difference being suited to the turbo selction), so untill that happens, all you can do at the end of the say is take as much imformation in, ask to go for rides and ' feel ' what both have to offer, work out a budget, find a tuner that can do what you want and enjoy what you get..
  13. I found these ones on eBa which are pretty similar to yours. Linky; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PEGASUS-TUR...sQ5fAccessories I wonder how they would go.. But as others have stated just make sure you have a decent lip on the ends of the pipe and you should be all good.
  14. Strange, i dont remember you or the car at all, did it have trust t517's on it?.. some pic's might jog my memory! Yeah that oe was my midnight blue one.. i'm not on the coast anymore so you wouldn't have seen it if you where in the loop!
  15. A HKS T62R. Get better soon paul, nothing is more important than health, powercruise will be there next year..
  16. 2nd that, they've been running consistant low to mid 8's with a stock crank, have been for a while now, their car and other customers cars over 1000hp are also running stock cranks and reving to high numbers, and they've never had an engine failure, ever, just goes to show the rb series cranks can handle some spin when prepped right!
  17. If that japs were getting good times with a smaller capacity then the 3L motor here then why won't it work is the question, the car still has a full boost band of 4,000 rpm which at this stage for a " street tune " is more than enough, coupled with the power and extra torque from the larger cc motor is should do very well?
  18. Looks nice, wouln't be able to pick the power from the outside, just what ya want!
  19. Man that thing looks the ducks nutts! Great power and response for a set of 3037's to be making full boost of 24psi by 5000rpm, gotta love the advantages of the good ol ' fork lift ' rb30's over the 26 bottom ends. Got some more pics of the completed motor and car? Cheers, Mat.
  20. I though i new most of the skyline owners of a few years ago.. what colour is your gtr, you ever see a midnight blue one kicking around??
  21. Why did you sell the r34, it was a great looking car, I spotted it a few times around the coast, so what you doing with yourself now days? Yeah i still have the ol 32, was just getting ready to sell it and buy an r34 gt-r when the yen shat itself... so i'm just about to start a ground up build on her, its gonna take a while but by the end it should be pretty mental, think full house rb26/30, full adjustable suspension, lighter doors/bonnet/boot ect, roll cage and so on. The aim is easy 10's and still be able to run good times at the circuit
  22. Hey paul, do you know what marks fastest time was with the hks t51r on street tyres? Cheers, mat.
