  1. Well i opened a can of worms. But thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I just wanted to make sure the auto wasn't a dog . I will hoping to buy something in the next month. I just remembered a performace DVD, or was it high octaine, (i will just have to look through them all again, what a pity) that had an auto r33 and the workshop that worked on the car had it doing massive wheel spins down the road in third. Just smoked this car with an auto. Think it was standard tranny. Motor wasn't. If anyone is interested just post and I will find out which one it was in. Was awsome smoking action. damn. Now i will have to find out now or i won't sleep. Dang it, it would be the one I lent a mate. Guess he will be getting a call in the morning
  2. Hey guys, Is there much performance difference between the manual and auto versions of the r32 or r33 GTS-t skylines? I am still not sure which model I will get. I have seen a few cheaper automatic versions of the r33. Are the Automatics more reliable then the manuals? I naturally will do minor performance upgrades along the way, but i don't want something thats just going to sux my bank balance dry with breakdowns. thanks folks :jawa:
  3. Yes I forgot that the Japanese often had more power than was shown. And to answer BHDave, Yes I will be looking at getting one under the 15 year deal which as I understand, they just need to have an engineer's approval after the minor compliances are done. Thanks again
  4. HEy guys, As some of you know I am getting an R32 gts-t later in the year, most likely an import from Japan. And I have read alot about what mods you guys have done to get certain RWKW {rear wheel killowatt figures} figures. But I am just trying to figure out something. They say the stock R32 GT-R with 206KW does the 1/4 in 12.9..there abouts. Now i don't know what 206 is at the rear but when I hear that someone who has done mods to there GTS-t to achieve 200+ rwkw figures, but only 13's 1/4 figures. Does this all come down to the fact that the GT-R is 4wd? I wouldn't have thought that a car with 200+rwkw's wouldn't struggle to get close, but should actually beat the GT-R. Am I just stupid? Also, do you think it would be difficult to find a R32 gts-t in Japan that has had a RB25 conversion already done to it? Or whould I be better to search for a car with mods like apex FC, turbo timer, larger intercooler, clutch , etc... Thanks folks. :ghost:
  5. Hi ya jmp, I am looking into buying a skyline later in the year too, and I found a link under FAQ about what to check and look for in buying a Skyline. Heres the link.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35129 hope that works :bat: Good luck with your purchase
  6. Hey guys & Gals, As some of you know I am looking to buy a R32 Skyline. I have seen some r32 gts-t 4's comming up at the auctions and was wondering what sort of performance difference was there between the 4 door and the 2 door? And is the automatic a dog compared to the manuel? Thanks folks :devfu:
  7. The insurance is only $840 because I am 35 and 65%ncb....this is the only time I am happy to be old. I think that I may have to go to the GTS-t because I think the money could be an issue. I really had my heart set on the GT-R, but i am sure with just a few mods I could get the GTS-T to go pretty hard. Then when I get the money together I mill get my dream car. And as for the comment by GAV about me looking for the drags if I bought my GR-t, well I would love to but work keeps me busy 5-6 days a week and only getting mondays and tuesdays off means no drags, plus i am out in the county...no such thing as circut racing...shame I know. thanks for all you advice. Should I find another $10k, GT-R here I come...lol
  8. Thanks, Are the engine parts for the GTS-t similar ?
  9. :wavey: Hey guys, I am seriously looking at buying an R32 GTR in the next few months. Always loved the car from the first time I saw it but since i have never actually been in one or know of anyone thats got one, I need to ask you guys it there are things I should have looked at before I purchase it. I am importing it so I need to tell the broker what I want checked. And I don't plan to use it as a drag, drif or race car , but a nice fast weekender. So would it be safer to get one that is totally unmodified, except for the exhaust and suspension. Or do you think it would be safe to ask for small mods like turbo timers and after market ECU's. Do you think that cars with these mods are more likely to have been thrasd, more than unmodified ones. One last thing. If looked after and not raced, will the GTR be a reliable car to have, or do you think I should go the GTS-t instead. Even though I love the look and performace of the GT-R. Thanks guys, and gals :kick: :sadam:
  10. Hey guys, I am thinking of importing a R32 GT-r and have been looking at Japanese Auction Sites. What sort of Money have you guys paid to import yourselves? I am seeing something like $22k-25k Landed and complied roughly. And speaking of compliancing. Do you guys know of anyone in Brisbane or Sydney who is trust worty to compliance my R32 GT-r if I go ahead? Also If you know of a good importer. i was looking at SVi but since I am in central NSW, would like to have someone from Sydney since they are closer. Thanks heeps
  11. Hey thanks for the quick responses guys, i see you are real fans. To answer Merli's questio, I haven't had many cars due to work but have a EF falcon V6 at the moment and have driven My brothers 400+ hp XB falcon UTE. Plus others cars I had were GTI swift and 74 929 mazda (yuck - non rotary). But I am serious about my next car being a Import 4 and the Skyline is top of the list. I would love the GT-R but I am limitied with a budget of about $17500-$20000 to spend so I thought I might start with a GTS-t. There are 2 other cars on my shopping list but you might want to skip reading this bit. They are the Nissan Pulsar GTi-R and the MR 2 Turbo. All in my limite. Thanks again guys and gals. :devfu:
  12. Hey guys, I am thining of buying a Skyline R32 Gts-t, and just found your site....Very cool site by the way. Most impressed. Anyway, Just wondering what sort of car are they to drive? I know it seems stupid, but I always like the look and performace of them, but I would rather here if you guys have had problems. Are they easy to modify? Are they easy to drive. You know. Since you never find these things out till after we buy one and hand over our cash after a 10 minute test drive. I am 35 with 60% NCb so insurance shouldn't be too high I hope. But i am after a car thats fast straigh outta the blocks, but one that I can play with later on and upgrade without a shitload of hassles. Thanks guys :bat: :sadam: :bat: :ufo: Mate I love your ICONs too...so cool......glad I found this place Dave out
