Getting back to Link ECU's, had on for bout 4 years. Had it on a manual 33 and auto 33. I have no problem admitting that i feel shattered, its been a ball breaker over the years to fine someone who can tune it. On both Manual and auto theres no bottom end, stalling the auto is gone revs stop going up after 1100rpm. The problem lies in the tuning or lack of it available, i have taken it out and has been sitting on my shelf for over a year....actually if anyones interested i'll sell the focker, map sensor included obvisiously. So this from someone who has experienced it rather than debating wether its any good or not. Believe me, avoid the Link...damn just botched any chance of me selling it!

When you say the cooler is dodgy, in what sense? got any interior pics? very nice car.

Basically the $500 fine was because I had been done 3 times in a year, already. when they got me the forth time in Epping, copped the fine and told me if i get a pass then change shit again i'll be going to court.

I got done recently, Fined $500, 3rd time in 9 months. They tested my DB at 4800 rpm. They checked my ECU, and AFM as i ran a Link ECU. They said nothing about my Profec B which was simply unplugged or my turbo timer. If you have a FMIC you cannot have a poddy as stated before by other peeps. True the 2 guys down there are good to chat with, but it burns me when their friendly to you but at the same time dicking around with your car and hand you a $500 fine. The slim fella with short hair greying on the side, said they tend to give us these fines as to them its justifable because we spend so much money on our cars!

I rarely ever post on here but DAMN! Jamesh dude, c'mon. I think you are forgetting that this is a SKYLINE forum, populated by many Skyline owners for years. The energy you have spent on attempts to rebuttle your claims is becoming more and more comical. For gods sake, please dont use Fast/Furious to support any arguments you have, ever. At first i did think you were making valid attemps to support your claims, however, their are a few people on this forum whose advice/comments/knowledge hold a lot of weight on these boards. Please respect that. They have offered you their time to break down genuine facts and figures from many years of experience not just from hear say or "mates". Sometimes dude its better just to let things go, take a step back and try to comprehend information, take it on board. Im sure many of us have learnt a shit load over time simply by browsing these forums. If you are wondering why your comments are the subject of so much scrutiny, instead of suggesting post #'s for ppl to refer to for "double clutching" perhaps you need to read over the 3 pages of posts once again. An ignorant person is someone who dismisses the general consensus/views of others, despite facts/figures/knowledge in this case yourself. I'm not trying to really get into you dude, moreso trying to express what other members of this forum have been trying to get across to you, a little less harshly. Oh, Guys, take it easy on the bloke, hes havin a go, his not harming anyone. Not that anything i say bares any significance. i know that the factory box with a KN filter is better then a slapped on poddy, but thought since with CAI it is sheilded from heat, and might match the factory box and sound better as well. Biggest concern is wether its legal, i know in vic we can have a poddy if its not oil based, but we cant have a cooler at the same time.

There was recently a group buy for CAI's, i think there still a few left, anyway are they Legal? i get done by the EPA atleast twice a year for the last 4 years now and at the stage where i cop a on the spot $500 fine, and not really looking for anymore, so anyone have a definite answer? last time the said either loose the front mount or poddy, cant have both.

Im trying to track down an Impul rear and pods for mine, the only place i know that has them is IQ auto, anyway, sorry for the outta focus pics.

not a bad bunch of replies in one day guys, anyway the auto is stock and needs attention which i will fix asap, the T3/4 has a t4 wheel, and it does have a dump pipe. thanks for all the replies, i'm not dissapointed with the power its making, more wondering where some other ppl get there cars dynoed to get such high readings, i understand already that dyno figures is simply a tunning tool and not to apply them to 1/4 mile times. Also why i raised the topic was to get more insight as to where ppl are taking their 33's cos i must be missing out in some untapped power... Sydneykid your maths was spot on! my previous 33 was manual and made pretty much the same power also. I'll take it for a ran down the strip once i do something with the auto as my bottom end is really crap, boost doesnt kick in till like 38G, Could anyone suggest someone how can tune Link E.C.U's? as i cant actually stall the car for launch. but with the stock E.C.U it has no problems. cheers for all the feedback!

ok guys, i'm really beggining to scratch my head with some dyno figures that have been posted on this site, heres why; I have a R33 Gtst 4 door auto with: 3''Turbo back exhaust hi flow cat Profec B Kn Panel filter 600X300 Fmic T3/4 hybrid Turbo onto a rb30 exhaust manifold Link E.C.U I am only making 203rwkw on 1bar boost. I've seen many people with less making similar power? its tuned by JPC, ive been to BGT, promaz, creatd, Nispro, Avo and they ALL say thats all i can get, also telling me not to believe power figures from magazines (which i dont). not too many places know how to tune Link E.C.U's but many agree that it is very good for skylines. This is my second R33 and power figures have been identical, i'll leave it to you guys to help me figure this out. Cheers!
