hey fellaz just pondering atm, i hve fmic 300zx single turbo full xhaust walbro pump apexi pod filter, im just wondering if the stock ecu could handle bigger injectors and a reg, if so what size/brands u guys rekon? or should the money be better spent on cams/cam gears, i dont wana go over $1000 so im assuming cams is out due to cost, it made 260hp at the wheels on 1 bar, oh and its a r32 gts-t, cheers :)

RB20 im guessin. Personally i'd ditch the stockas ECU and upgrade to an aftermarket item before you do injectors...just my opinion...you have all basic mods. next up is ecu change and then you can think about injectors, boost contoller, bov and the like. Up to you.

yeah sorry its rb20, ermm i just added to my list, ignition coils (still std) the car already runs a blitz bov( soom to be plumbed back) and i use a hybrid ebc, i leaning towards coils due to the fact std ones are known to f**k up, still any input would be most welcome, oh another thing, what bout a better afm? lol the more i think bout it the more the $$$$ budget goes up, funny that

Haha...make up your mind mate. Well i'd get all ur shit sorted out eg coils whatever. Should be fine tho for the mods/power you have...what boost you running? I just run a mapped microtech ecu without afm...annoying when afm f*k up.

You have a jap import...get used to spending lots of money...never satisfied haha.

money lol, im bout to spend 2000 fixing body damage after it got stolen then trashed, lil f**kers! as for boost, it spikes at 18psi up to bout 5500rpm boost starts at bout 3000, levels off to 14psi from 5500rpm onwards

what do u mean "it spikes"?...probly a little high if you want your engine to last...yeh but i didnt really understand that bit about you describing your boost...u dyno tuned it recently?

You really need an a/m ecu if you want to add injectors, different afm or cams. Anything more then what you have now and your just going to be wasting money. The a/m ecu will at least let you tune what you have now properly, and then give you the head room to expand successfully from there on.

yeah had it dynoed reccently, i mean from what i gather the boost is set high but the worn out factory spring tension isnt up to scratch, so it wont hold higher in the rpm, it made 196kw with that setting, never leaning out, i made him run the car several times as the old pcm with a chip in it leaned out the old moter cause piston failure, trust me i dont wana do that again.

There's a contact here in SAU, he does a remote tune, sends a few chips over, you have them fitted and each one of them ran on the dyno too see which works best.

Allthough not 100% spot on its safe and from the experience of others works well.

Dr Drift is another one who tunes. Unsure where he is located.

Here in Adelaide to map the std ecu was too expensive, A few hundred more and I had myself a PFC that has since been tuned 3 times. So I am now ahead. :)

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
