hey guys.

ive noticed recently, that everytime i wash my car and chamois it, it leaves stains on the paint work, and the only way you can get rid of it, is to poilish it out. :whistling:

as i said, its only been happening since december, after i took it to a place to get washed.

any ideas?

re-spray is on the cards, but what can i do in the meantime? cbf polishing it all the time..

and if you want pics, i might be able to organise some..

car is a Black r32 gtst..

thanks in advance.

jarryd

EDIT: could this be caused by carwashes usuing recycled water?

i might have to do a test at home by using tap water.

f**king water restrictions.

I have a black R33 - dark coloured cars show water stains and residue a lot more than lighter coloured cars.

I find that washing the car in sections and rinsing helps prevent the stains appearing (ie: wash roof and windows - rinse car, wash mid section - rinse car, wash lower section - rinse car). Also the sooner you can get the water off the car with a chamois after washing, the better

If you've still got marks, you could try using Meguiars Quick/Speed Detailer on a cloth and give the car a wipe over...

strange, perhaps its the polish your using or they used.. dried white not clear? hit it up with some tek wax and see how she comes up

i use tech wax to fix it up lol

its kinda dried on. ill try get some pics up.

yeh try some diff cleaning products and see how thtgoes.

i only use meguiars, so i dont think thats it...

is it all over the car and consistant...if only in certain areas maybe somethin has landed upon ur car like a chemical or something...or maybe some1 has sprayed ur car with something nasty

dunno wat else it could be, if it was polish is should be polished back of for "good" once u re-polish the car, only thing else i could think of is maybe after a polish u missed certains spots...left it in the sun and the polish has so to speak "baked" itself onto ur paint , then once u polish it off, the new polish shins it over until its fully come off/sprayed off with water

Yeah thats weird then dude... Real upsetting actually..

maybe hit those spots with a buffer next time? strange if you ask me .. Make sure you hose of excess soaps quickly and always wash your car early morning or night to avoid mid day temps to evaporate valuable leftover water (leaving marks)

hmmmm....must have been this place i took it to then...

but what can i do now, when it happened i took it back the nextr day and they polished it out.

it sucks.

well, re-spray is coming sooner then hey..

thanks for your help ppl

;)

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
