Basically, I have access to some cheap new tyres through a mate at a tyre shop.

The choice is between Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 or Federal ss595

Currently, the Stagea sits on Pilot Preceda's, PP1's. Previously before that had K104's, Wanli's, Nankangs.

If I was to rank the tyres that Ive used before, id probably scale

Preceda

K104

Nankang

Wanli

But, where do the two sets I am interested in now fit in? The only issue I have with buying another set of Michelins in that they damn well wear quickly on my heavy ass car. Don't think that they wear quickly because of daily driving, they wear quick because I drive the car pretty quickly in the hills. The Precedas lasted me about 5-6 hard hills runs. The K104's lasted about 15-20. To be honest though, they did grip better and were more progressive.

Anyway, any comments on Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 or Federal ss595. Just to note, the federals are $40 a corner cheaper, but it doesnt phase me because all the tyres are still under $200 a corner.

i actually have owned precedas on my stockies back in the days.. I actually liked those rubbers to be honest!!

They had fair amount of grip!!

A friend of mine use to have those Khumos on this 33 (front) and found them to be reasonable good.. No complaints from him..

I beleive Mr_G on this forums bought khumos as well (cant remember which model)

Maybe he might reply!!

But i would go with michelins or the khumos!!
