long story short i'm in need of 1 driftek gold rim, 17x8 +34

first of all the guy at the place i was going to get it through tried to tell me that koya or whatever can't match exactly the same colour gold..... come the f**k on they come in 2 colours the gold that everyone has and black

and i have 10 holes in them, 5 where the studs go and 1 in between for decoration making 10, reckons he can only get them with 9 (multistud?)

i think he's just trying to get a full set of rims out of me

can someone just confirm the facts for me about these rims regarding the stud holes mainly i read on ns in a thread that 9 holes only came on black drifteks, the colour bullshit he tried to feed me i don't believe for 1 second

Hey mate, teh reason you have 10 holes is for different cars with a different PCD.

Can't remember exact specs but there are two different PCD's in 5 stud.

And i've never heard of a car coming with 9 holes?

The holes would overlap each other and make them unusable.

In multistud it's either 10 (5 stud) or 8 (4 stud rims).

Anyway hope you find what you need bud.

yeah i've got the low down, basically koya are dodgey as and change coolours and designs like their underwear

i ended up putting the rim in for repair because no one could guarentee me a rim that would be exactly the same

steer clear of this cheap shit.

sorry to burst your bubble dude, but there are some rims which are multi stud (i.e. 9) these are normally made for 114.3 pcd cars 4 stud and 5 stud a good example of these are the veilside andrew rims which are fkn wide as they came with the multi stud pattern also i had a set of 17x9 rays rims which were multi stud (5 and 4) [its rare but there are some rims like this]

    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?

    • But if you had to go bury a body in the forest, would you not put that in the boot? Most of them are >=90kg these days.
    • That could easily make a horrible noise. +1 to the benefits of: a) Disclosing all relevant information when asking questions such as these, b) Actually going out and having a look at your own car, seeing as you're the one there, and we're not!
