yokotas13
Sorry I kept you waiting for 2 days for a response, especially one that you knew was coming; What so special about Stagea specific track springs and shocks? it was sarcasm............................. wow. regardless, aragosta is one of the highest rated non super competition external multiple way adjustable coilover here in japan. Many shops use them on time attack cars (revalved with different spring rates of course none of htis progressive bullshit) and drift cars. So if the word famous shops that build track that set records, are saying its good shit.....im gonna go with em thats the main reason i bought aragosta. Here's the problem, they may be OK when compared to the other (mediocre) shocks used in Japan. But when you look on the world stage you find zero Jap suspension, anywhere. Even the Civics, Lexuss & Integras that race in BTCC have European shocks. Ditto the Subarus, Mitsubishis and Suzukis that race in the WRC, they don't have Japanese shocks. When Nissan needed a superior shock for the R35 who did they turn to? Bilstein. Ditto TRD for the Supras, Subaru for the STi's etc. When the better Japanese workshops want to do it properly, even they chose to go outside Japan; The M Speed R34GTR (check it out in HPI #87) uses Dymamic, made in the Europe The Nagisa Auto R34GTR (HPI #85) uses Quantum, made in Europe The Garage Ito/Pro Stock racing R34GTR (HP#86) also uses Quantum Aragosta are a medium (at best) fish in a small pond, stick them in the ocean and they are lost. yokotas13
 for what i got them for, i cant really complain i put them on today, and i can immediately feel my stagea is a different beast. Heaps over what i had on it. Eventually i want to go with an ohlins setup. which i will for sure maybe next year. BUt the suspension that i had on the car, just was shit...totally and completely. Rear valving was alll buggered up and bounced all the time, fronts the stroke was too short so it would bottom out the shock on medium sized dips. Completely inadequate. I knew i wouldnt have time to send off for ohlins by the time the next track day (next month) so i decided to get the second best choice that is avaliable to me. however i will point out Garage Kagotani time attack GTR that is 3rd at tsukuba, uses aragosta. The standard edition simply revalved for linear rate springs (higher springrate as well) as well as an externally adjustable tein setup for some conditions I had a conversation with him last weekend (i think, maybe two weeks ago) about making function front and rear diffusers as well as a full underbody tray (well really two, one on each side of the undercarriage) I really want to take this car to the next level for myself. I know i can do it. its just about applying myself, im a lazy kid. yokotas13
oh my god i cant say ive ever personally owned a suspension this great ive driven in cars with ohlins, motion, and stuff like that. but nothing like this i love the progressive spring rate. the wife no longer bitches because of hte ride but as soon as i go to turn in it stiffens up dramatically, It handles sooooooooooooooooooooooooo perfect. no more understeer, no more bouncy rear, no more bottoming out front shocks. Its a godsend i love it ith a passion Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/217890-aragosta/page/2/#findComment-3855990 Share on other sites
