WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING A SHIFT-I SHIFT LIGHT SYSTEM ?

With a Shift-I shift light system ...

- You decide exactly what revs the first light comes on at, and you decide what revs you want the Shift-I to flash the "change gear now" signal.

- As an example, you can set the Shift-I so that the first light comes on when at the bottom end of your optimal torque band, and the "change gear now" signal to activate at the top end of your optimal torque band ...

- This helps you keep your engine operating in the range where you have the most torque available, and helps you eliminate excess wear caused by needless over-revving after your peak torque has already been reached.

- It's super bright shift lights are seen in your peripheral vision, so you no longer need to keep one eye on your tacho and are free to concentrate on your lines, apexes, and braking points

- At night the Shift-I dims automatically to a night setting

- You get a smooth and consistent anticipation of your shift point

- It reduces driver workload and fatigue, both in sprint races and endurance events

- It provides drivers with reference points for performance

- You get immediate feedback on cornering entry and exit RPM

- You can achieve consistent staging RPM for standing starts & launches - so no more watching the tacho on the start line !

- In enduro events you can manage your fuel by short shifting at an indicated point below the peak RPM

- You can avoid the rev limiter and plan your gear selection

- You can improve your lap time consistency and get up to speed at new tracks and with new suspension setups faster

SOME FEEDBACK FROM SATISFIED SHIFT-I OWNERS

Nothing carries more credibility with us than unbiased testimonials from satisfied users of the products we sell.

Here are some examples of testimonials received from users of the Shift-I system ...

"Received and installed on the same day ... Pulsar N14 SSS. The product is excellent ... Well manufactured, engineered and packaged ... Recommended - buy Australian" - Phil, Brisbane, Australia

"I feel it is worth saying that the product is 1st class and your before and after service cannot be beat ... if you come up with new products I would be more than interested in having a look at them ... from a more than happy customer. Thank you very much" - Mark, Victoria, Australia

"If you are after a testimonial for the Shift-I, I can give you one. The Shift-I performed flawlessly and kept me in touch with the revs while the analogue tacho bounced all over the shop. This was at least partly responsible for me being able to shave 3 seconds off between first and last runs" - Paul, Aussie Frogs

"It’s worked brilliantly in my track car. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained maybe ½ a second a lap from it, not to mention the benefit over a longer stint due to a significant reduction in cockpit workload. Bloody good unit."

Could you please show a pic of the installed unit on the R32?

Would like to see a side on shot to see exactly how it attaches to the column

Cheers

Hi N1GTR,

The Shift-I is very easy to mount on any virtually any vehicle.

Above is a diagram showing the dimensions in mm of both the curved and straight versions of the Shift-I.

Some fitments only need a simple bracket to position where desired - above is an example for information purposes only of a simple bracket used to mount a Shift-I, provided by the Shift-I's manufacturer.

You can also download a 1:1 scale cut out out which can be printed and used as a guide to assist in determining fitment.

We don't have a photo of it mounted in the R32, just the video of it in the R32 here ...

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
