if everything else is due for changing then do it but otherwise seriously dont worry just tape the coil packs up until you can afford some new ones thats what the problem is

Never tape anything back together, either replace, or rewire properly. My entire ignition system from the loom to the sparks is all cooked because my previous owner figured eletrical tape was just as good as solder.

hey everyone.. ive got a bit of a smiler problem but 10 times worse to the point that its not drivable

about 3 days ago had my car parked outside a mates house.. and it was hell stormy weather.. anywayz i went to start the car it started then stalled.. so then i tried again this time it stayed on. but then as i went to drive off it stalled again. i noticed that every time i pressed the accelerator heaps of black smoke came out the exhaust which i know means its running rich.. but this wasnt just the usual lil bit of black smoke it was to the point where u could smell fuel and yor eyes would burn.. this obviously means that theres heaps of fuel that isnt getting burnt.

anyways i managed to get the car home and i took the coil packs out to look at them and there was water where the spark plugs are (decent amount). i drained it all out.. dryed the coils and put it back together started the car and its still doing the same thing. then i took the spark plugs out them and found that 3 of them were wet from the fuel.

this is obviously an ignition problem any ideas how i can narrow it down to wot part of the ingition system is stuffed? whats the best way to check the coils and the lil modual that sits on top of the plastic cover on at the back end of the engine etc??

help please!!!!!

Open up your loom from the ignitor to the coils, and check them, maybe they got water damaged as well and werent sparking.

I have a small but different problem with backfiring in my s1 r33 gtst. The car backfires occasionally when I change gears, or rarely when I completely back off the throttle. This only occurs when I am driving sedately with light throttle usage and gear changes at around 2.5-2.8k rpm, problem dissappears after about 3k rpm, it also seems to happen with slightly more frequency in cold or rainy weather and when the engine is cold. The car also smells of unburnt fuel when I pull into my garage. Its not a massive backfire either more of a loudish pop than a bang.

It doesnt seem to be too much of a problem and I still get decent economy at ~10L per 100kms urban/town driving when I nanna it. If I could get even better than this though I would be stoked.

Car is always run on BP ultimate, has a HKS Super Drager exhaust + unknown pod and a Blitz dual chamber vent to atmos bov. Only recently purchased so Im not sure if the cat has been gutted or not, any ideas?
