Hey peeps!

About to get work done on my r34 gt-t.

Car is a fresh import (1998 model) first driver in aus... 98650kms

Car had its 100,000km service done before i got it and i believe them (can see new oil filter/water pump etc)

Going to have its first 5,000 km service when i get the work done.

Im not getting much work done... stock > 200rwkw~

My question is... should i get a engine test done before putting money down for more power? IE compression test/leak down test?

any advise is appreciated.

Cheers!

u should always do a comp test etc when u buy a car, and id recomend driving the car for atleast 3 months or one service interval before you start modding away.

that gives the car time to show its gremlins and you can iron them out.. the best way to fix a car is return it back to its correct working state (stock) and fix the issue before you go on doing lots of mods. Otherwise you dont know if your the cause of ur problems or if its something else.

ull also learn to drive the car better starting from stock and moving up to ur 200kw.

plus.. if its going to die after uv driven it for 3 months.. atleast make it die hard

yeah i agree i just wasnt sure if it was needed for the little power...

ive had the car for about 3-4 months now :) only problems it had was brittle rubber hosing... seem the aussie heat hated the jap style hoses but we fixd all those problems now.

Ill get a compression test (yes i know i stuffd up not getting one before i brought the car we did it get tested tho everything but comp test and it was flawless)
