hey,

sorry to make a thread but Question will get lost in the wasteland and want a clear answer.

now my old rb25 had oil blowby at the track (herd this is what rb's do at high revs) ok that fine.

bought rb26 rocker covers and mines cam baffles.

fitted these (removed pcv valve due to 26 covers not having them)

fitted plazmaman

plumbed my catch tank into the two breathers on the back of the covers with a kn filter on the tank.

now, as soon as these were fitted, i had oil vapour blowby coming from the catch tank setup.

any ideas on what to do?

nah just ripped the old motor out..

new one will be tuned tomorrow..

but wanted to know if not having the pcv valve is what caused the so called blowby?

The PVC valve allows pressure out, not in ... so I don't believe that is contributing to your problem. I would take a compression test. If compression is leaking past your piston rings, that'd be the contributor.

Hard to diagnose over the internet in any case. :D

Actually, when you say you removed (didn't use) the PVC valve, did you still have the hose from the plenum to the rocker covers (just without the PVC valve). If you did, then thats your problem. On vacuum your sucking oil vapours into the plenum ... and on boost you'd be boosting air into the engine, pushing the oil out any exit, ie the catch can.

:D

nah, plazmaman and rb26 rocker covers dont have any nipples/ports to have a pcv valve..

so i was running in theory a "blocked off" system.

on a rb26 the pcv valve runs from the drivers side rocker cover breather to a nipple on a metal bar next to fuel rail.
