About to put a deposit on these gorgeous rims, just after a bit of feedback on the fitment.

Sizes are: 20x8.5 +25 Front 20x10 +25 Rear.

I have stock suspension and I DO have access to a guard roller if needed, i have also been recommended 10mm spacers all round. I'm just curious as to how they are going to look with stock springs i don't want them to look stupid.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm avoiding lowering my V as the roads in my town are terrible. Can you explain why it will look stupid?

The gap between the tyres and the wheel arches. With 20 inch wheels, it will look like a jacked up 4x4.

Lowering does not necessarily give a harsher ride if you do it properly i.e. damping adjustable coilovers.

You might also want to consider 19 inch instead of 20 if your roads are bad. Personally I think 19 inch looks best on the V35

I found my standard suspension was too soft for my local bad roads... was too easy for the body to float/bottom out

but i agree, smaller sidewalls make it easier to dent a rim on potholes and things like that

if your roads are that bad, id be buying that delorean.

I don't get how that works, my mate has the car car same stock suspension with 20's and it looks good. Eh..

^^^ there is no way that is stock suspension. And the offsets you are talking are right flush fitment with stock suspension - but as advised it will look very 4wd spec.

Believe me it is, even when our cars are parked next to each other it looks like my cars lower when it's stock.

F*ck this is confusing, i need to speak to a rim/tyre specialist

I wanted to ask the exact same question. I'm looking at a set of Vertini Fairlady but i'm on stock suspension too. Now you guys have me paranoid my ride will turn out like a monster truck.

Also does anyone know how much these wheels weight?

Hey guys. It doesn't look THAT bad on stock suspension but obviously it will look better a little bit lowered. If you don't want to lower it too much, try to find some 350z springs and shocks as they lower the car a touch but still maintains stock driveability. Take Sheldon's V35 as an example, hes running 20" rims and 350z suspension but his car looks good. http://sgv35.com/2012/01/05/speed-bumps-now-my-enemy/#more-409

I think stock 350z suspensions are lower than our cars.

Yes, the stock 350z suspensions do lower the car but not very much and maintains stock ride comfort. That's what Seano is worried about isn't he? The fact that the roads are bad in his area and he wants something thats suitable for daily driving.

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
